the problem with Dan is that he's the aero-frek of the century. Would be probably very hard to find somebody who takes TT & aero so seriously as this guy.
I reckon Campenaerts had some good CdA as well, and not by coincidence. Ofcourse there is always someone who improves the details, but Campenaerts is already more than average aero-geek.
I think that Remco Evenepoel could smash the record if he trained for it. That said your record was incredible and will always be a part of cycling history.
Filippo took a test in Montichiari in 2021, it's not a secret. He runs for half an hour as you refer and he said it was very hard for him to continue with his pace.
To be fair you have to finish the lap you were on at the 1hr mark, then using the lap average speed the exact distance at 1hr is calculated. So they do all ride for different amounts of times

ganna record is delayed I think because uci rules are changing for tall riders (over 1.9M) so he can get better position next year than this year

He doesn't have enough absolute power compared to WvA, Ganna ... which is why he normally falls behind on these guys.

Probably not. He's moved on to become a bike racer, focusing on the classics and one-day races, and has lost much of his extraordinary TT qualities.

Dan was a pro rider for a number of year but Continental level with Ribble Rather then world tour
