My wife & I watch the show - Tarek, never thought you & I would have something in common. During a routine physical, doc felt something...same diagnosis as you...had my thyroidectomy Sept last year. It's an emotional ride. Want to hear something strange? Two of my closest male friends & I were all diagnosed with cancer last year - prostate, throat, and thyroid. 21-yrs in the military didn't prepared me for the emotion I felt the day I rec'd my diagnosis. BTW, I call my scar my permanent bowtie :-) Not sure where your're at today, love to hear back from you, but either way I wish you & your family the very best...

I had thyroid cancer and also had 2 lots of radio-iodine treatments.... unfortunately what I didn't know at the time... people who have radio-iodine treatments are more likely to get a secondary type of cancer... which I did.... 6 years later... I was diagnosed with Leukaemia.... so please make sure you keep an eye on your health after such treatment... I am in remission now thank goodness... but please be aware x

Get better! I do not know why doctors think radio active iodine is ok, kelp is a good source of iodine

I found a lump 7 years ago after falling down the basement stairs. I waited weeks for the bruises to go away and when they did I saw the lump. I waited a month to see if it went away and made an appointment when it didn't. Come to find out at the age of 33 I had Cancer! I've been through so many surgeries and chemo. I also used natural medicine during my treatment. Chemo took an immense hit on my immune system, which I still have issues with today. I'm so glad someone noticed this for him! As a thyroid patient myself who is always worried about goiters, I'm surprised I didn't notice it myself. Just goes to show you how easy it can be to miss. Prayers for a long Cancer free life! ❤

My fiance had thyroid cancer and had to have his entire thyroid taken out along with the radioactive iodine. This happened a couple months ago. He was 22 when he had it removed.

It's too bad he didn't get this checked out sooner because he could've avoided having it spread to lymph nodes. I can't believe his wife or someone from HGTV didn't insist on him getting it checked out. Now, with the poisonous treatments he's getting, even if he goes into remission, he'll more than likely get recurring or some other type of cancer a few years down the road. I wish people would look at the statistics on people who undergo conventional treatments and get cancer again. I'm really hoping he tries some natural treatments and diet changes that could actually cure him. I wish him the best.

Has anyone heard how he's doing?

OMG, how in the world would you have such a huge goiter lump that you see in the mirror every day and delude yourself into not even checking it out? That was giant and where he'd notice it daily and he was not too poor to afford a doctor. Every day he looked at that and thought it was nothing!?! He could've caught that cancer earlier and not let it spread more but it felt better to not even think he had cancer when he was staring at a huge mass daily. Please, if you notice a lump anywhere have it checked immediately. I've seen this in poverty but that man had no excuse.

they thing about it is... there are so many medical conditions to look out for which make it almost impossible to look for the medical signs if you are untrained to look for them and not actively searching for them. Unless you take those regular check ups more than likely you're going to miss it until it hits in its late stages.

+Jessica Love- Geez Jessica are you this hard on everyone you know? Calm down. Stop the judging. Tarek is no different than 99% of anyone else in the world. He did not have any medical teaching, his forte' was real estate. How would he even KNOW that a swollen area on his throat was threatening? Knowledge is key and he did not have the knowledge. If you have KNOWLEDGE AND YOU IGNORE IT, then, YES you can say "What the heck"? BUT he had NO KNOWLEDGE!!!! THINK before YOU OPEN YOUR BIG MOUTH MISS know-it-all.

Please seek natural treatments!!!!!! Look up Ty Bollinger on youtube. Get his series and go for natural. Traditional medical treatments only cause more problems. PLEASE!

You are NOT a doctor and cannot advise people on their medical conditions or how to treat them, I'm sorry.

you hear of too many people trying these natural treatments and failing when conventional medicine would've fixed them up. Conventional medicine is whatever works best - including natural treatments...
