      But what happened against teofimo

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +9

      Teo cut off that angle. Step lefts, pivot rights, pushed and shoved,... pretty much everything not to allow Loma to step around. Great game plan from Teo

    These breakdowns are so sweet 🙌🏼 All the nuances pointed out and explained! So happy I found this channel! Thank you 🙏🏼
    Due to Loma moving up to 135, he became more aggressive (due to the reach disadvantage?), and so I forgot that he could be this stick and move, pure boxer.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +7

      Calling Loma a “Hype job” is ridiculous. Was he “overrated” by some at one point in time? I’d say yes since I never thought he was #1 p4p and that’s where some put Loma. With that said, Loma is one of the best skilled fighters in the world and it’s undeniable. It’s impossible for a 3 division unified Champion to be a “hype job”. Loma clearly lived up to the “hype”. I think a lot of these people are just mad they put Loma at #1 and promoted him over others. The rest don’t understand boxing.

    Lomachenko is great at making the opp fight on his terms. They bite on all the feints and even if they don't it's all useful info. Lopez did some great work in there against Loma. I'd love to see a rematch but Loma kind of dug his own hole in that situation.

    Aiight back from Vegas family!
    Watched this all over again, I actually ran into Bill Haney in traffic my last night there, dropped my window n hollered at him. We chopped it up for a good maybe 2 minutes before the light turn red. Cool brother. Seeing as Haney might fight Loma in the future I'm checking this out again. This time looking at Loma's Ring IQ.
    Loma had complete ring generalship in the fight. He gained information and created 2 separate plans based on whether or not dude reacted to the head-slot change/level dip. So either way the guy was getting punished. Exactly what happened.
    The ops ring IQ wasn't that high, likely average at best. (10x better than the majority of us non-fighters)
    The only way he could've changed this was to establish his own offense. He never could.
    It looked like he was fighting a counter punchers (CP) fight- without having any elite level CP skill/talent/tools.
    So Loma just walked all over him.
    A fighter can either have a great performance or a great win. (aka just beat an elite opponent)
    For Loma this was a great performance.

    You know what? I'm a still *like, watch, and support* this video right here.
    I said it would be easier to enjoy Loma's career and what he brought to the sport, after he loss again.
    I mean jeez, [they] propped him up so high and tried to brainwash the sport.
    [They] said he was better than Floyd (lmao) and Ali (lmao).
    [They] were calling Loma the greatest to ever do it.
    And *the rest of us with common sense, and an understanding of American demographics-* all knew why.
    Now that he's gone silent, and soundingly gotten beaten (AGAIN) by someone Floyd would've been called a cherrypicker for fighting...
    It's much easier to appreciate what he brought to fans of the sport- myself included.
    Down goes another *#GWH*
    Oh and thanks for another classic family!💯✊🏿

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +3

      Fam you got the knowledge. I know you can see what is missing or lacking out of Loma’s game that Mayweather is a master of. Loma’s losses are reflections of his limitations. That’s why when they were talking that nonsense I would laugh and just ignore it. When you really know boxing skill you dismiss the bullshit! Truth over propaganda 💯💪🏾

      @@BoxingGems 💯The guy's a certified HoFer. A brilliant fighter. Loma one of the few that I recommend ppl to watch and study if they wanna gain insight of terrific Boxing. It's a shame the media soured his career for me while he was on a hot streak. I imagine my feelings are a flip-flop parallel of what ppl who didn't appreciate Floyd during his career felt. Either way I'm here now!
      I'm going on a family trip to Vegas on Friday and hoping that plane flight is smooth. I hate flying. Paranoid. If you'n hear from me no more lol rip. On a serious note- I'll drop my single suggestion for a Caleb Plant video. That's my favorite fighter at 168. I'm biased towards Boxers over any other style.

      "an understanding of American demographics" is a real slick way to sidestep having to spell out the people who'll shit on Mayweather and Crawford but stan Loma and Usyk, all without it having anything to do with their boxing skills.

    ISTG, Lomachenko can be Undisputed Champion if he really wants to,not even funny the man literally gave Devin Haney his toughest test of his career and I believe he will beat Kambosos due to his SUPERIOR BOXING SKILLS, Lomachenko is the textbook technical BOXER so good that he literally can pull anything off at his age.
