Corn Tiller Appearance & Scouting Tips

Do you have tillers coming on in your corn fields? Watch this video for some tips on tiller development and what to expect when scouting fields.
Our first observed tillers for the 2021 season were found in Garden City, Kansas at growth stage V3 (third-leaf). The field was planted on May 13, and the tillers were found on June 4. Our hybrids are P0657AM and P0805AM, and we found tillers in all three of our target densities - 10,000; 17,000; and 24,000 plants/acre.
