Hi, I'm 63 and saw LZ perform 5 times. I was 16 years old and lucky enough to be at this show at MSG in NYC. I thought I could never see a better show or band until I saw them again in 75. THAT was the most unforgettable performance ever. I saw them 3 times at MSG in 77, 9th row center stage for one of them, real up close. Best guitarist in rock history, best drummer in rock history....best band in history, PERIOD! Once you get into their music there's nothing else that equals LZ. Oh, and once you're hooked, you're hooked for life. BTW, checkout the video on You Tube of Jimmy Page explaining how Stairway was written as he sits and plays the record and stops it periodically to explains the ideas for different parts and how they put them together. Its very cool! Enjoy your Zep journey. I'll b watching.....
There was a dj in the Los Angeles area who put it thusly. The greatest show he ever saw was Led Zeppelin. The worst show he ever saw was also by Led Zeppelin. When your musical philosophy is Tight but Loose, when ever note is not preordained, mistakes may be made but magic may also happen. Musical ad libs as you put it. "Does anyone remember laughter". So good you wish it was on the studio version! It's why this The Song Remains the Same live album is as important in the discography as any of their studio albums. I am sure many people would find their favorite versions of their songs there ( No Quarter is mine ). I'm glad you're getting the Led out!
Rembrandt..Picasso... Schubert...Brahms...Beethoven...Davincii...MLK....Roosevelt.....Howlin'wolf...I do love fine artists....Led Zeppelin was a group of fine artists....but the four together...amazing...a group...4 as one.......Led Zeppelin.... Legendary as you said
I am told most of Page's live solos were improvised on the spot. So the songs often were different from one show to the next. I know you can't do it because of its length but dude, Dazed and Confused from the same concert is 26 minutes of mind-blowing awesomeness. Whole lotta Love is also extended with a cool little added story? but manageable from this concert.
I concur on that statement. I saw them 4 times. Twice at MSG. Page went off and did his thing. I will say this though. As much as I love Jimmy page, later her partied way too much. And his playing was really affected by sloppiness. My 4th time watching him live he was drinking out of a Jack Daniels quart (I believe it was), and he wasn't very good. His hands were so out of sync with each other. It was sad and I was mad. But he's still one of my all time favorites along with SRV and Clapton of Cream.
It’s what made them THE BEST. As 4 musicians they were so perfectly attuned to each one could go “off script” and the others follow in perfect synchrony. It’s why Bonzo could never be replaced.
I understand there are guitar solos that are more difficult and technical than this one, but I think this is one of the greatest ever. The rawness and the little nuances in it bring it to level 1000
To put together a catalog of music as did Led Zeppelin that has stood the test of time 50 years now , is simply astounding ! You never see their albums in what was called the bargain bin . Young people are still being amazed by their stuff !
Saw someone say what I always thought you will never ever get four musicians that are the best at there craft ever again will never happen again .. The stars had to line up just right for this band to come together !!!
I just “sat back, with my eyes closed and let the music take me.” Great reaction. I was a preteen when I was 1st exposed to LED Zeppelin. It’s what my other brother listened to. Back then no one used head phones, we simply just cranked up the volume on the turn table.
When it comes down to it all the. Other rock and roll bands bow down to. Led zeppelin the greatest band ever the master's of rock and roll epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic epic
Best band ever for their era. I totally agree that you can get lost in their music for different reasons. You rarely see a band that has everything...great songs, lyrics, all 4 guys are GREAT musicians. My first live concert was when I was 13..saw them April 30th at the Pontiac Silverdome.
I love the true passion you show for this song without any inhibition. Some reactors feel they have to “like” every song they listen to in order to not hurt anybody’s feelings, but they come off as sort of “wooden”. You wear your emotions toward a song on your sleeve which means they are real in real time. This is my first experience with you and I definitely enjoyed it and will be following you in the future. Take care and have a good day.
I enjoyed Your reaction and feeling the song with You Thank You for being real it is a breath of fresh air. Soon to be 61 Years Young I love the magic of David when He plays but when ever asked who My favorite Guitar Player are it is Jimi followed by Jimmy . Well done Sir and if anyone who might be reading this perhaps Young and Do not know whom David Jimi and Jimmy are it is ok keep on listening You will .That is if You are meant to
I dont know if anyone has mentioned it, but Heart's cover of this for Led Zepplin's 2012 Kennedy center honors. Talk about a song paying homage to the original...mind=blown
D, you need to check out Heart playing this song for the surviving members of LZ with the original drummers son playing in the video “Heart-Stairway To Heaven (Live at the Kennedy Center Honors) [Full Version]. Make sure it says Full Version because the other ones have parts of the song cut out. It might be the greatest live performance you ever see.
Back in the days of Egypt, the Egyptians left a Lasting mark on the World, the Great Pyramids! Led Zeppelin has left an Indelible mark that will OUTLAST the Pyramids!!! In a 1,000 years from now, people will STILL look back in AWE at what they were able to do and Accomplish!
I don't listen to this song anymore because "No Stairway!" Heard it WAY too many times, but still one of the greatest tunes in the history of humankind.
There is. Know. One. Like. Led zeppelin the master's of rock and roll on the. Eights god. The. All. Mighty created led zeppelin god. Gave led zeppelin more talent then. Any. This brings so much emotion for me.I love this song they are so many things I can say about Led Zeppelin but their fans and I know that. They were honored.and Heart did this song did awesome.
Mr Drama. I'm soooo glad I came across your channel. Not only do you know what you talking about, but what gets me is the fact you know all the band members names to the bands you react to. You Sir are a rare gem in this mad world. Please keep reacting.
Syd.... I'm staring at 60 years old .... but watching Zep at their apex playing Stairway brings me back to ....... 'A moment in time'....! It borders on time travel...! Great reaction.... legendary vid! Grazie!
Thank you for what you do… exposing a whole new audience to great singers from the past who had amazing natural talent, and did not need autotune or back up dancers ... just their amazing and unique voices and artistry. If you haven’t reacted to the Barbra Streisand song “One Less Bell to Answer/A House is Not a Home medley, written by Burt Bacharach and performed on his TV special in 1971, I would highly recommend it. Anything by Streisand in the 1970s, is at the height of her singing prowess in my opinion. Talk about power, purity and control ... and it’s the ultimate breakup song, which gives it extra emotion. This the only song that I know of, where an artist is singing a duet with themselves. The video for the song is technically amazing, especially for the time period that it was done. Barbara sings the primary part of the song live on the show, accompanied by pre-recorded, live-singing, to achieve the duet. Check it out! She’s not the highest selling female artist of all time for nothing. Carry on with your love and appreciation of all kinds of music. Peace out. ☮️ (here’s a link to the video, as sometimes it’s not easy to find the version with the live performance, just a recorded version from her Barbra Joan Streisand album. I've seen tens of reaction to this live performance and you were the only one to notice how the light focuses on Robert. It makes it look like the beam IS the STAIRWAYS TO HEAVEN and that his glowing halo like hair points to him as a prophetic vehicle. But who knows what it means. Maybe i am just really high and bored at home.
You know what I love about channels like yours? It gives ppl of all races and creeds a chance to bond over good music and kinda flip a middle finger up at the media and politicians trying to divide us. Love your channel bro and love the Patriots!!

Zep's music "takes you there." But their song that does that the most intensely is "Kashmir." (There's actually a stanza in the song which says "Let me take you there.")
you´ve picked the perfect version of this song to react. There are songs you´ve gotta watch live as Pink Floyds "comfortably numb" or "echoes",Peter Framptons "do you feel like I do",Queens "love of my live",Joe Cockers "with a little help from my friends",Rory Gallaghers ....ect...milestones of the rock music in epic moments!Good job!
I saw LZ 3 times in the 70s. Your so right when you said playing live is so much different. Each time I saw them everytime was different. Check out the video of this in Seattle 1977. Totally awesome brother
Heart gave an amazing performance at Led Zep's Kennedy Center Honors. With drummer Bonham's son on the drums honoring his father. They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
Notice Jimmy playing the solo with his eyes closed what a man absolute masterpiece
they were so tight!!! No group in that era could even be close,
facts!!
Textures...and Layers.... 4 excellent musicians & Jimmy Pages ideas & Producing.... ( Gifted Artists ) TIMELESS
Watch Heart play this as a tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center. Another great reaction.

Isn't this fabulous? They are especially good live! Jimmy is superb!
Julie Manarin if you pay attention, JB will go from 4/4 up to 5/4 to 3/4 -whatever, to adapt to Jimmy’s playing. It’s very impressive
The mighty Led Zeppelin so beautiful...
I'm going to brag I was there all six shows Madison Square Garden 1973 changed my life unlike the first time I saw them in 1970
I hear these songs from my teens and Zeppelin is the only one that makes me drift way back and vivid.

I'm weird that way too, it's the Zep effect. Page on guitar takes me to places that are not of this earth
Great reaction ,well said well done.
Unlike modern groups who need to run around to captivate audiences, ZEPPELIN did it with MUSIC , That will last a lifetime
Everybody can't be Zeppelin, and no one should try, thats why we have many great groups and artists

Always listen to studio before live so you can hear the clearest version first, then you can listen when they change it up. Love some zeppelin!
Really good video with some thoughtful points..enjoyed that, Well done!
And a great summary at the end.,cheers from down under.
I saw Zep live in 1979 in the UK and they were magnificent. At 58, however, I am equally excited at going to see Babymetal in Feb!
Robert Plant was 23yrs old and he already had the name of the golden rock god
Music is the art of communication.
Dear sir, i like your end analysis, and agree completely. Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick also live in MSG has the same profound and lasting effect.
Amazing!! You should react to Heart's tribute performance at the Kennedy Centre Awards... it's stunning.
Agreed. It's like going to church. ruclips.net/video/8e2fJfiddx4/видео.html
I love the deliberate blue lighting except for a small hello spotlight on his hair-giving him a halo effect. Reminds me of Tintoretto’s paintings.
Great reaction to a great band !!
Nice one, its not just the solo in this live version I love, its Page's playing throughout the song that's so bloody good...

Well said I agree thank you
I'm usually not impressed by reaction videos.. but yours is exceptional. Thank you.
That light on his head also looks like the Stairway to me.
Excellent reaction. Very well said!
It's a concert in its own right. I see it as being like stages of life. There's a slow, almost naïve, intro that builds into a yearning and then everything breaks loose as you reach the thick of it. The outro is like the slowdown after the climax, but maybe also after the good times are gone. It rather sums up their career.
I love the " getting lost" music. Exactly.
May as well do the whole live album. Nudge nudge wink wink
Great reaction
Never apologise for trying to decipher the lyrics to Stairway, that is the true sign of a fan.
