Schoolhouse and Goose Pond right next door.....those are my hometown honey holes. They both most definitely have some very nice fish. Couple of my fishing buddies have caught fish ranging from 2lbs to over 5lbs. My average in that pond is about 3lbs. I seem to be hitting mostly on the Ned Rig with Finesse worm. Bass love it. So, before June rolls around I tend to bank fish. I do pretty well. But most definitely the yak is the way to maneuver around the pond quickly. I won't give you the exact location but around those buoys in early June. I don't want any flack, because I know a lot of fishermen don't like to give out details. But I welcome the company and Challege.
Man i am sorry that the fishing didn't turn out like you wanted it too. But you stayed out there & that was good. Man. I can't believe how many bugs out on the water man. We have bugs on our water too but not that bad. I like how you was kayak fishing barefooted 👣 man. That is how I have to kayak is barefooted 👣 because of how extremely wide my feet 🦶 & toes are. & i really like your flip flops 🩴 tan you have man. I have one too. I have a sunburn one that has my feet 🦶 extremely red with a flip flops 🩴tan straps on my feet 🦶. Boy it hurts too really really bad. I have to walk barefooted 👣 right now because of how bad it hurts. My Arms and face are burned too & hurts really bad on my arms. Keep on rocking those flops man. I haven't fished there in a while, but I've never heard of it being a trophy bass pond. I think it's stocked w trout though. However, it appeared you only tried a chatterbait and a worm. It's worth trying jerk baits, swim baits, and top water plugs for those big bass. I would have mixed it up much more. Lots of good ponds on cape, I've got a decent number of 3 to 5 lb smallies, and even better largemouths, a few over 7 lbs. My 2 best largemouth bass, caught on different ponds, broke 10 lbs.
yeah this was just going onto the mass.gov website and they have certain ponds listed as "trophy bass ponds" so we were putting it to the test. i do use many other baits, but this day specifically we had about 2-3hrs of sunlight left i believe
btw if you look close at the water at pretty much any time, it looks like it's raining, it's not raining, it's bugs 😂
