i know you probably dont look at these comments anymore but this is the most genius way of doing a stitch marker and it helped me so much

Same!! I never use stitch markers because they're usually a bit of a hassle, but this kind was super easy with minimal fussing w/ it! Definitely doing it this way from now on.

Love this! My 39 year old son is going to love it too. He comes in and snatches every hat I make. I have made him two of your gentleman's scarves, a pattern I love to make. I apologise for the length of this but I have to thank you. I am a very experienced crocheter, but there have been two stitches I have not been able to master; the crocodile stitch and the crab stitch. I have watched many tutorials but still couldn't do them. But thanks to you I can now do both. I want to thank you and your dad for taking the time to make your instructions precise and crystal clear. Can't wait to make this hat!

This is the first crochet project I've actually done to completion and I couldn't be happier
The pattern looks magnificent and is so much easier than anticipated (you are godsend for explaining this so thoroughly THANK YOU) I know it's been years but if anyone is still crocheting this, note that the measurments are very accurate but for my personal preference I could have made the brim tighter as the weight in the back pulls at the hat a tiny bit but that's on me since I elongated the cap a little more.
I hope you know how wonderful you and your crafts are!

I just finished my first cap ... it is SOOO adorable!! I had never done anything like this before and since I had both colors on hand AND grandchildren who I know would want this, I had no excuse not to. The color variations can be endless with this cap. You made it very easy to follow, as you do with all your videos, and fun! Oh yes, this was also the first project using my awesome wood hook ... now I see why you love yours so much. My Mother loves the one I got for her also. Thank You both very much!!

Thanks so much for this wonderful pattern, you are a great teacher. And that bit where you start the reverse scs at 35 mins in, I had to watch your instruction a few times before I got it right. At first mine were just looking like a regular sc stitch but I persevered. :) What a cool hat! And now I am starting to "stalk you" (teehee) because your voice is soothing to listen to and your many fantastical and beautiful crochet items are so much fun!

Great pattern. I made it in red and black for my 7 year old grandson. It took me longer to do the reverse single crochet swirl than to make the hat. But well worth it. I did change one thing. I started the embellishment at the top of the pattern so the knot was not at the lower part of the hat. Thank you for sharing. If I could figure out a way to post a picture, I would.

ME TOO! I used an H hook, 5mm as directed with #4 weight Red Heart yarn. Followed along on the tutorial, all stitch and row counts to perfection. Written pattern says the adult size should've measured 23" circumference and 20" long. Mine was the OPPOSITE! 20" circumference by 23" long. This turned out to be a child 's size hat, NOT an adults! Cute pattern, takes almost a whole skein and ALOT of work on that reverse sc stitch!!!!

Hi Nadia! I really absolutely love this pattern and can't even say how much I appreciate you putting it up, and for FREE! I have this yarn I really would love to use for this pattern, but it is a 5 weight, bulky, but it is a pretty thin bulky. I was going to try it with the 5mm hook to try to keep it as true to yours as possible, and maybe stop sooner around the band to just make it the correct size. Is this what you would recommend?
