Good morning Dawn and Peter 😊. What a great vlog. Good work on the boat . It's looking so much better already. Remember to enjoy your 4 month sabbatical and make many memories. You deserve it. Looking forward to seeing your adventures. Thanks for sharing with everyone. Stay safe and well.❤ ❤❤❤
Thankyou. Yes we are making sure we enjoy it and take in as much as possible - doing the jobs on the boat is not the priority whilst we are out and about… enjoying the adventure is top priority. 😁
Hi Peter and Dawn, nice progress on the roof! I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the DIY/handyman/make-do with what's available attitude (I am the same way)! With the boat made from standard plate steel and continuously sitting in water, rust has got to be a constant maintenance issue. Fortunately, the canals are fresh water (and not sea water). I listened to your video with headphones and noticed several things going on in the background (farm animals, trains, and aircraft). Here in the US, the trains are much different; diesel powered (except in tunnels), about 1 mile long, and primarily used for freight - very interesting!
Maintenance is always something that needs to be done. We will need to get the boat out of the water to sort the underwater part of the hull out soon. The location we were in gave a good Croft reference of noises! Our trains are a mix of diesel powered and electric (usually with overhead power lines).
I have done 2 coats of grey oxide on the sides of my boat and one on the roof so far. Im doing 2 more coats of undercoat then ill be doing the top coat. Its hard work but worth it. Cant wait to see your boat finished.
Well done Dawn on doing most of the painting lol,Love painting I am doing a room at the church at moment I find it relaxing , keep the up the great entertaing vid.
Unfortunately not - as things stand from where we are we will be going up the Trent and Mersey, onto the Bridgwater, then the Leeds Liverpool Leigh branch and into Liverpool….
Hi there Dawn and Peter, I Iive in Melling, Liverpool a few minutes walk from the canal, I often cycle along the towpath. If you fancy a pint in the local as you pass or a pint of beer fro, a micro brewery s short walk from the Albert Dock then let me know. Best wishes and enjoy cruising, love your RUclips video's by the, Sophie
Any moment now......Hmmmm. Maybe they edited it out. How is it possible to wave your arms around like that and not fall off? 🤣 The roof is looking great. Maybe all the flapping around dried the paint faster.
@WingingItBoatingonaBudget look at the last 2 boats. And you've started chopping holes in the roof. And you've mentioned project about a thousand times? Leave the boat alone.
hey Peter, it's OK to paint while you talk :D Good job Dawn!
I can’t multitask! 😂😂😂

Peter waffles while dawn does the work!
It’s a good system! 😂😂😂

Hey Dawn she’s not a project boat😁. She’s looking good and so are you two.
Thankyou! 😁
Dawn, I think you should get Peter a roller. Then you never know he might do a BIT more painting 😂 The roof looks great 👌
It’s doubtful that Peter will EVER do much painting! lol!
You do it better anyway 😂😂 Stay safe and enjoy ❤

Yes lots of prep work and painting involved but the difference is amazing! 🤩
Roof looks great !
Thank you!
Maybe Danni and Joe have a campervan they could sell you! 😊
Roof looking good!
Thankyou!

Really enjoyed the video thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it. 😁 thank you.
Well done guys, look forward to the next one.
We filmed a ‘boat tour’ yesterday so hopefully next weeks video will be a nosey around the boat… 😃
It's a shame Peter can't paint as much as he can talk, but you get there in the end. 😂😂😂 👍
I don’t like painting- but I sure can talk! 😂😂😂
Great video keep up the great work both 👍
Thankyou!
Well done Dawn on doing most of the painting lol,Love painting I am doing a room at the church at moment I find it relaxing , keep the up the great entertaing vid.
Thank you Jack - Dawn is far better at painting than me… bet the church looks good. 👍
Loving the videos... Keep up the great content..👍
WAWAW Dawn 🦉
Thankyou! WAWAW! 🦉
What tools did you use specifically if you don’t mind writing. I was told to use a scabbler. What did you use?
One of these boaters is painting more than the other 🤣
One of us talks too much! 🤣🤣🤣
Dawn should coat those tattoos in that primer, LOL!
There isn’t enough primer in the world to cover all Dawns tattoos! 🤣
Nice job Dawn... Did I hear Peter moaning in the background? 🖖
Maybe just a little bit! 😂😂😂
Are you going to cross the Mersey River to get to Albert Docks ?
Unfortunately not - as things stand from where we are we will be going up the Trent and Mersey, onto the Bridgwater, then the Leeds Liverpool Leigh branch and into Liverpool….

The flapping keeps me balanced! 😂😂😂
Waffle to paint ratio very high. Why paint the 'grab rail' first?
😂😂😂 painting the grab rail means that Dawn has to keep her concentration so as not to fall in! 😂😂😂
"Knock me up bed " ??????
Haha! When I edited the video I thought that would get lots of comments… you’re the first though! 😂
One of you is no good at multitasking, painting and waffling is a bit beyond you. I'm not going to say which of though 😊😊
I (the waffling one!) HATE painting so the less painting I do the better! 😂😂😂
It's a project boat
Dawn is insistent it isn’t! 😂
I thought you said this wasn't a project boat. When clearly it is a project boat. Typical
We’ve not had to strip it back to a bare shell and rebuild from the ground up… so Dawns opinion is that doesn’t make it a project! 🤣
Definitely a project boat
Why don't you buy a decent boat and leave it alone instead of doing half arsed jobs. With bits of crap wood.
😂😂😂 Which bits of crap wood did we use to grind / sand and repaint the roof? 😂😂😂
@WingingItBoatingonaBudget look at the last 2 boats. And you've started chopping holes in the roof. And you've mentioned project about a thousand times? Leave the boat alone.
@@leebooth8479 no bits of crap wood though… 🤔 😂😂😂
If you are boating on a budget, buying something affordable means fix-up projects are inevitable.
