    • @Imnobodyk
      @Imnobodyk 2 года назад +2

      @@janicepedrick1976 This one is easy, it's because you don't have a 90 degree angle on the drain hose. The drain hose needs to go up at a 90 degree from the machine (there should have been a zip strip holding it up that way) then down to drain. If you leave the hose down at the floor level there's no seal to stop gravity from pulling the water out. Think of it like a trap under your sink. It needs that curve to seal the water from moving.

    Thank you bro , you made me a very happy man , I bought this machine for my girlfriend 2 years ago , I bought it from a Colombian woman , kept telling girlfriend not to loaded up so much , so started to malfunction, so decided to watch repair vids , I found yours , it was a blessing for two reasons ……..I am so static , joyful , once I took the back plastic cover off to my surprise, I noticed I large ziplock plastic bag stashed inside with some sort of package wrapped on a cotton fabric , Lord behold !! After opening bag unwrapping whatever was in package we found $9 k dollars neatly wrapped in the dirty cotton cloth , so this was a very nice Christmas present , thank you , and thank Santa . Second we noticed the belt was kind of worn out .
    Gracias amigo , we are getting a new belt , and we will be donating part of this money to a shelter .

    This is an awesome video; I have saved it to my "Home Repairs" folder.
    I've also been inspired to open the back of my new washer again, and note what kind of belt it uses. I've only used my washer four times, but there's a carpet of what looks like tiny bits of shredded belt underneath it. I'll be buying a replacement belt now in case supply chain issues make that impossible in a future time when the present belt finally fails.

    This video is clear, to the point and relatable. Thank you!
    I bought mine second hand and had to immediately put it outside. It was riddled with mold but I needed it badly and went through allot of trouble to get it. After washing it several times with vinegar it was almost completely mold free. I learned that I needed to put a cup of vinegar in it to prevent mold from growing back. In short, keep your machine opened, aired and use vinegar to prevent mold from growing.

My washing machine (exact same make and model as yours) is leaking with no visible leaks from the hoses or pipes. After watching your video I opened and checked my machine and the belt was extremely loose and completely shredded with pieces stuck to the sides like soot. (2) where did you buy the belt from? Good quality video and narration. 1st thing I noticed about your fan belt is...... not to replace the belt yet as it's not that worn, but tighten the pulley so the belt is tighter, retighten the pulley nut. So....how do I "fix" the water level sensor? Is the water level sensor in any way synched to the agitation cycle? My water wouldn't turn off automatically and the agitator isn't working. I'm guessing my water level sensor.

    I'm on my second Haier HLP21N and I love it! The first was refurbished but worked fine until it didn't. It took some trial and error to realize it was a cracked lid. If the lid does not register as closed, it will fill with water but never pulse. Bought a new lid but the pin that holds it in was impossible, impossible, impossible to put back together! Got another one, used, because this has been discontinued. I'm surprised you bought a new one in 2020. It worked almost as well and I was super careful with the lid. But the plastic is very prone to cracking, and that's what it did! Oh no, here we go again, but at least now I knew the issue was the lid, not 100 other things. I superglued the cracked piece back on. But putting the lid on seemed to be impossible again, until I got it just right and now my machine is back working ... except it has developed a leak on the bottom. I will check your other videos and if you haven't fixed a similar problem, I hope you will consider it! I just subscribed. Thanks for the video, even though it wasn't the problem I had, I may just replace the belt anyway. Listen, everyone, be careful with your lid and don't store stuff on it!

    Thank you for this. I’m a 73 year old woman who likes to tackle my own repairs if at all possible.
    I’ve been looking for info on why there is water under the drum in my portable Avanti washing machine. There is a little plug in the back that will drain a tiny bit of water and collects some lint- and I found a dime in it once- but after I release the water there is still water sloshing around.
    It seems to drain fine when doing laundry- the clothes aren’t unduly wet and there is no water left in the drum- the hoses have water left in them though. I don’t know if that’s normal.
    Everything gets extremely tangled up though if you have a couple of pairs of jeans and long sleeve tops it’s one tangled mess- you have to unbraid it. Lol… so maybe something in the spinning is screwed up. Or the pump.
    Anyway, I thought I would have to take off the top and couldn’t figure out how- not to mentioned terrified I wouldn’t be able to get it back on properly. .. now I know I can take off the bottom and see what’s going on in there- though a flood of water might pour out.
    And I’m going to buy an extra belt just to have it around.
    Thanks again. You made a great video!

    6:05… Nobody is going to pay $300 to fix a machine they can get for $288 new (online only). A machine almost exactly like your Haier HLP21N (but it’s an HLP21E) is sitting right outside my apartment dumpster right now. I’m debating whether to pull it inside my unit and try to fix it, depending upon how the rest of this video goes. I appreciate your video very much, as the washer down our hallway has been broken down for a long time. And it doesn’t look like it’s ever going to get fixed.

      Hey donnamaco supermarkets sell machine cleaner liquids2 that you can use which sterilizes and cleans machines. You can also run a hot wash cycle with ammonia, bleach ( and vinegar) that will clean the machine out.

    OK so I have the same washer and it's only been working on the lowest cycle. When I try to do the full cycle, it starts to fill and simultaneously drains water and then it stops and beeps three times. I replaced the belt (awesome and easy instructions!) and it's still doing this - any idea why?

    Thanks for the video! I have the same washer and everything seems to work perfectly fine besides the spin setting. The machine washes and drains but once the water all drains it beeps 10 times and does not spin leaving my clothes very damp. Is this something a new belt would fix or do I need to fix the lid? I read a few posts about Haier and lid malfunctions. :(

      I think that's what he's telling you. If your clothes are coming out damp he said that that may be the remedy. It's not spinning properly, needs a new belt.

    Hi Olaf, I have this same model washer and I'm having an issue where water is flowing into the machine and coming right out the drain hose. It's not properly filling up the wash tub. Any thoughts on what could cause that?

    What would you call when it’s leaking from the bottom, since first use

    • @olaf2046
      @olaf2046  3 года назад +1

      Hi. It would be the pump. Replace the pump and also check for structural damage like a crack or hole.

    How do you get the drain hose to stay on the washer? I spent so much time trying to fix it and the drain pipe keeps falling off. Also the water inlet has a mesh thing in it so when i add the house to the washer inlet, i have water spraying. HELP Please

    • @olaf2046
      @olaf2046  3 года назад

      Hi Rose. Get a washer for the inlet hose. If it still leaks then use plumbers tape. If it still leaks after that then a new hose is needed. The inlet hoses are easy to break and need replacing after a couple of years anyway. As for the drain hose to me ot sounds like the connecting piece is broken. That can be replaced as well. Google for the parts. I found a lot of stuff on Amazon and local hard ware/plumbing stores sell generic universal hoses and connectors that can work.

    I have a Giantex portable top loader, looks pretty similar to this unit. The drum is leaning to the left and bangs on the side during the spin cycle. Could it just be a worn out belt causing it to lean to the side like that? Where did you find the part# for your belt?

    • @olaf2046
      @olaf2046  4 года назад

      My wife purchased that same Giantex. Adjust the legs on the bottom first to stabilize the base. I had googled for the belt. Haier has a lot of parts for the brand. Giantex didn't seem to have a website for parts. In fact when you Google for Giantex parts the haier parts website comes up first. I would remove the belt and take it to a local plumbing supply store to see if the have a similar size belt.
