- Learn How to replace the idle air control valve also referred to as IAC on a 2006-2011 Hyundai Accent. Code P1508 may also result from this part going bad.
Typically what will happen is that you will experience an erratic surging idle or the rpms may increase resulting in a high idle.

How's the valve been holding up? My 2010 has been having issues with stalling when idling so I was looking at this direction to try and diagnose the problem

Me too i changed that part and my accent 2008 run OK but my idle is a bit low ,so, is it my idle adjustable by a kind of screw that made to give a little more idle ? If yes ,do you know where that screw is situate ? Thank's in advance if you have an answer . Cheers .
Not to my knowledge. Mine idles around 500-800 rpms...Tiny motor
I'm having hard idle coming to a stop at a red light. The engine will rumble then die. When putting it in reverse the car 100% of the time shakes violently and dies. When I come to a stop i have to quickly put it in neatural for it not to shake and kill the engine. I'll raise the rpms in neatral and buck myself in Drive in order to get the car to move forward. Mid speed and accelerating the car feels normal. Startign up the car warms up like normal too. I think the last thign i need to do is try replacing this idle air control and it should fix it. Thumbs up from me so far.

Hi, I changed for a new ICV. When I plug the new one in, my car idles at high rpm like if I had it unpluged. Why is that? I bought the right part. I would like to know you guys opinion on it. It is a hyundai accent 2009.
Wondering if the part is bad. Is it throwing a code you can pull?
Hello, I have a 2007 Kia Spectra car, and I have a problem with instability rpm I changed the valve more than once, and the same problem sometimes goes up and sometimes goes down. I checked everything and cleared the fault code, and the same thing. Please help.
That same thig happened to this car, ended up being a bad camshaft sensor
I use Kia Rio 08 I don’t knw if d gasket Is suppose filter d air coming to the valve from the injector

I have a 2009 Hyundai Elantra GL. I changed out the ICV and still have high idle. Once I drive for awhile, the RPM comes down. My small car is horrible on fuel. No engine light or codes on the Diagnostic Test.
It may also be the camshaft position sensor. Both of these went on my Hyundai and when I replaced both the car was all set. The cam shaft sensor was giving me an erratic RPM on the highway.
I seem to be getting worse gas mileage since I switched. It's costing me 14 litres per 100 km and it's mainly city. The air filter is changed, changed the plus and wires last summer, changed thermostat, oil is new. There are no codes. No lights on. I have tried fuel injector cleaner and still no changes. Tires are good, aliment just done. Maybe a dud. I have it like this for 2 yrs.
What if you change it and it still come on after you change it and you still have the same code po508

Good morning, a question when the idle speed does not work by starting the engine for the first time from one day to the next and during midday, could the cause be due to the ambient temperature and low sun? or is it the cause of some problem?
It may be acting up as it heats up and cools down. I replaced mine and it wasn't that expensive.
Were is the iac valve located on a 2013 kia soul 1.6
I currently do not have a video on this particular repair. I'll keep this in mind in the event that we have to do one of these in the future.
I have the same problem on my 2011 Accent. Did you buy a new IAC from the dealer or from any auto parts store. I live in Canada and only one auto parts store has it and it costs $320 Canadian. Was it that expensive there? Thanks.

Just go to a junk yard to get a used one I got to Pick and pull they are in canada I am in calgary and can get the part for less then 10.00

I have the same car, 2010 Hyundai accent and I’ve changed battery, position senor, ignition coils, plugs , and fuel pump and filter and it still tries to start but won’t ! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!! Help in Mississippi

My Accent shakes at idle. Is it idling too low(750 rpms)
You may want to see if a motor mount is broke.
Can the iac valve cause car to lose power when running ac?
You may loose a little power in general when the IAC is bad. When the AC is turned on it might rob even more power.
@@HomeOwnerRepair well my car def loses power when I turn the ac on and drive..so I try not to run my ac as much as possible
I’m having the same problem with running my ac
I change mine but my rpm still bouncing a little bit when the engine is heated up
If you still have a check engine light pull the code and see if it is a new code and what is is pointing too.

Usually not unless it gets really really bad for some reason. If the check engine light is on you may want to have the code pulled to see what it is pointing to.
