I cleaned my idle air control valve and throttle body with throttle cleaner and now iddle smoth and runs great. Even doing it on my other car just to prevent this issue.
I have the same car and it's IAC was broken as well. Removing bottom nut was a pain, no clearance. I replaced that nut with 10mm Allen head nut so that it's easier to remove next time.
Alright, there's like a rivet holding things together. If you remove it, you can twist (not unscrew) it then pull it apart. BUT Without that rivet, it won't go back together aligned exactly as it was. The best thing to do would be to drill the rivet out, then plan how you will hold the halves together BEFORE taking it apart. Perhaps tap the hole and put a screw in there? I tried that but I'm not good at that. Perhaps putting a pin or a nail in the hole tightly somehow.

Mostly HEAT. That's why it's mighty important to keep your radiator and cooling system in tip top condition. Almost all the sensors on modern cars are made of plastic and they can crack.
It would usually run smoothly at a constant speed. It was more of a problem when stopping and going. As the throttle is opened more, the idle air makes up a smaller piece of the total air flow. If you're having a rough idle, the idle air control valve can also cause problems without being physically broken like ours. The valve mechanism inside could be failing to open and close properly due to dirt or wear.
I'm having that problem as well on my 02'. I read on alldata that you need to test the resistance values between the terminals. Out of spec too high I believe to be a short in the harness causing the door inside to be stuck open and make that buzzing sound. Any idea on how you fixed it would help out!
I only heard them doing that when the battery is dead. If you refer to the clicking noise when the engine is idling ithen it's not ralated to the starter, it's a hydraulic lifter problem in the engine. Just a minor nuissance
@@luispichardo6704 Engine is off, ignition is on and the Idle Air Control Valve makes a clicking noise. Is that normal? No issues when starting the engine, idle speed is even fine and Check Engine light is off. I'm just curious of the clicking noise by the Idle Air Control Valve...

U have a voice of a 1950s radio station ...very cool lol
😂😂😂 so true. It's cool.
This video tutorial is absolute gold

Blank off ISC with gasket - run fine without it.
Thanks I'll have to try that.

@danielkempton9659 adjust idle how?
Idle screw. Probably got locking tabs on it, use flat screwdriver & hammer to break off locking tabs.
My Idle Speed Actuator crackles loudly after switching on the ignition in the car. Is it normal?
I had a same problem. What will be the cause for breaking the IAC actuator?

did your car run rough even when driving? our accent is doing the same thing. will check when daylight if ours is broken

@@TheMechanicalPhilosopher ok mate, i will replace it anyway. thanks for the inor and great video.
You can also apply some sealent on it to stop air leak....

@@ppprmrd the ticking noise must be coming from somewhere else then. A short circuit a bad ground... etc. That is if idling is fine.
