In my opinion the bigest disadvantage of consulting is lack of work and life balance. When I worked in consulting firm I felt like I was a slave because of 12h working days.

@@OiVinn-eq1ml Hello! Since the time I wrote the comment I have shifted to another consulting firm. Everything is much better know (nobody call me in 12 pm). My new opinion would be that if someone wants to work in the consulting but do not want to overwork it is more than real. If I have managed to find such place in my country than it is definitely possible somewhere with a bigger market like in US.

I still don’t travel nearly as much as I used to, but some clients are starting to have us travel to meet them in-person again. For me, it’s always just 1-2 days because I usually just go for a half-day to full day meeting (instead of being on-site Monday-Friday) so I’m never away from home for too long. Before COVID, i would sometimes have multiple client meetings in one week and have to travel to different places right after one another - that’s when I would be away from home for a longer period of time.

So thank you 💖 I definitely don't have a fixed specialism so the varied projects intrigues me, I love being client facing (as long as they're respectful and clear in communicating their needs), I love to travel and I like collecting points... My love life is in the toilet so I'm not worried about that lol. I'm just debating whether I should start off supporting small orgs/start ups and then possibly enter one of the big 4. 🤔 Anyway...
