So glad you bought the kayak! Some years ago I bought an ocean kayak and I love it. I have fished on the ocean with it.. and the non stop action is second to none. I also use it for fishing lakes, and for just paddling around. I've strapped it down to my RZR and taken it to some remote and off the beaten path lakes. And I agree - it's up to us to get out and make things like this happen! Will miss your vids but glad you're doing what best suits you!
The best fishing technique is going down the shoreline and casting toward the shore… go a little ways stop for awhile then move further down and repeat

If it's fresh pacific salmon, yes, but not Atlantic, smoking salmon at 180 is best, but cooking salmon on a cedar plank at 325 or so will give you great results and doesn't take so long.
Good to see you back and on your feet again . That kayak was very impressive , once you assembled it , bigger than expected . Even if no fish are caught , still looks like great fun and very relaxing . Honestly , who needs fancy restaurants when you dine in such glorious settings .
Love the Kayak. Im still using canoes for now. The salmon meal is my favorite. I do Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning and brown sugar. Garlic butter on the asparagus. Yum!
My God, what a beautiful region you visited! Last year we were in Canada ,Rocky Mountains and in Peachland B.C. It was great and we enjoyed every day of it, 9 weeks! On snap. Welcome to kayak fishing. I have an Hobie outback and like to troll from it. I caught trout, salmon, kokanee, bass, etc from it. One bait I recommend for trolling is the "Berkley flicker shad 4m RT red tiger". I land everything on that. Quite often. it's my go to bait. And if you want kokanee. They like wedding rings with corn. Also get braided line. You can instantly feel them bite. Mono or fluorocarbon has too much stretch. Which is ok for kokanee. But for bass. You can feel them inhale the bait with braid

Somehow I missed the fact that you injured your foot. I hope it is healing well! As a coincidence, I sprained mine surfing too and it's been a long slow recovery. Always try to go up wind on your way out. I used to paddleboard with my daughter in Long Beach and trying to get the boards back in time paddling into the wind was an ordeal LOL! I'll miss your weekly videos but wish you well on your new endeavors!

Lower temp for the smoker. You want it to take time to get the smoke flavor plus fish at lower temp won't dry out as easily

Hi Hannah, long time follower. Use Granpa Guss' mosquitoe repellent. Plant based works well. Don't want all those chemicals on that beautiful skin.

Typically 15-20 foot of water is best for fishing unless your going for the big lakers.
