Live service or premium doesn’t matter when you don’t have the talent or resources to make a great game.
Honestly if it brings back quality I wouldn't mind them going back to Premium system.
Also how about mixing the two? Do maps and weapons as DLCs and keep the "Game as a service" for occasional free map, Battlepass and skins because they are for sure not backing down on skins by now.
Additionally my thought: Shouldn't game as a service be supported for a long long time? Like R6, LoL, GTA, Apex? Because this whole "Game as a service" for a game that gets supported for 2-3 years tops doesn't really work...
And my idea what they could do to not separate the community as much - weekly free rotation of Premium DLC maps. So it's usually 4 DLC's with 4 maps. Why not making rotations with one map from each DLC being free for a week? So like when all DLC's are out you can rotate one map from each DLC (4 maps) every week. Everyone gets to play DLC maps and Premium users keep their "Access to all maps at all times". That's one middle-ground solution I thought of.
It's wishful thinking anyway... They are going to do what EA tells them to do to make money.... Money money money
It's not about Live or Premium, it's about can we trust them to put out a working game with the mechanics we actually want i.e. destruction, classes, urban maps, behemoths, sound, visible fidelity. But yea, it will be Live Service ;-)

I would like to see more competition within this game genre. More battlefield-like indie games like Battlebit.
Premium package, but non-premium player can still play the map without earning EXP.
I just want a good BF game. Don't throw out the best parts of previous games. If they made a BF3/4 knockoff, with the immersion and attention to detail of BF1, I think they would be successful. Their track record with live service is not good, but the proof is in the pudding. I agree that if they screw this one up it may be over for this beloved franchise.
I liked having the premium options and I usually went for them but I have been let down by some of the BATTLEFIELD games. So unless they can offer me something really amazing that a BATTLEFIELD player just can't turn down I just don't think I can risk another disappointment because I don't trust them no more.
Alot of people still play BF1 and BF5.
i do not believe that 2042 devs were making content changes as they went along, i believe that every single BF2042 update already existed at launch of BF2042 in October 2021, and was released over time.
Their live service attempts thus far have been lack luster at best. The new content was slow in coming and half baked most of the time. With 2042 they spent half the game's life span simply rebuilding the initial maps so we barely got any new content. With Premium we may have had bugs to deal with but we got piles of new content every few months and, in my opinion, the games ended with a bang and not a whimper.

BF1 can not be compared to any other game, it's in league of it's own.

i would gladly pay for premium rather than some stupid cosmetics. Live service will always combine with skins. But majority didn't like that shit. So bringing back premium is the right way.
