It would be great, if George had the time, to see and hear him playing each one of these. He is so talented and entertaining. I still crack up laughing when I see the Shaft video! Just one of so many great pieces. Thanks George and all of the UOGB for keeping us entertained!
Thank you for sharing. It is a diverse and comprehensive collection worthy of a lifetime spend playing and entertaining. Wonderful to see Kittys ukulele, since it is an integral part of the OUGB history. Thank you very much.
Really like the way you went through your collection, and even more so your kind references to Kitty (R.I.P) The Pete Howlett in remembrance of Kitty was my favourite so far - but George - there's still some more to show I'm sure! :-)
A talented and inspirational man, who leads a great group of musicians. Our group will always be in his debt. Have a very good Yorkshire Day on Saturday 1st Aug.
Thankyou Geo. For sharing..one would not have thought you would / could get so many different sounds but just few minutes into your demo gave that away. Thaks again enjoy the music you are spreading around the world .
thanks a ton for sharing your great collection, George. My heart pounded when you've shown the one you have given to Kitty. What else can I say but I love you :) Thank you for the music, Sir 🧡
Thank you George, you are a true ' Virtuoso' I may be pushing 65 but one day I may play a quarter of the way that you can. Looking forward (hopefully) to see UOGB again before long in East Anglia. Stay safe and take care in these difficult times.
George! What a wonderful glorious collection you've got there! Thank you for showing and sharing the little stories that give each one of them a reason to have come into your life! I guess my favourite is Kitty's #1, it still has a very rich, round tone and the most ukuleli-y sound, as far as can be heard through this video recording anyway. Thanks for giving us this glimpse into your UOGB's eccentric world!
Watching George just pick up and play these instruments reminds me of what Billy Connolly said about listening to Bert Jansch play guitar - "he makes you feel as if you've only got one hand - and it's growing out the top of your head!"
Great stuff, thanks for sharing your treasures with us. I specially like the Pete Howlett one with the Kitty dots, it's got a beautiful warm and full sound.
Of course I lasted this long George. And thank you so much for talking about Kitty's instruments. My mate Ivor and I loved her to bits. Greetings from Victoria Australia. Ivor in the Dandenongs, and me in Bendigo. God Bless you all mate :-)
Absolutely I was very interested to see such a lot of ukuleles with amazing different sounds🪕🎶🎵and thank you so much George for arranging them all to show us, I didn’t realise their was so many makes, best regards to you and the ukulele orchestra of Great Britain 💕👍🏽
Very interesting George I noticed they all have different sounds to them so am I right in saying there are no two ukulele alike . Question what was kitty's favourite uke song that she loved playing? She was a lovely lady may she RIP she is now playing the heavenly ukulele in heaven !.
Thanks very much for showing us some of your collection and for the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain from a pensioner just starting out on his Ukulele journey.
It's wonderful to hear how your have collected your ukuleles. A visual collection of your musical life. Way to go! Stay safe and thanks for sharing 😍😍😍
Thank you so very much, you are such an inspiration to me. I have sent the link to all of my friends. Thank you again from my heart to yours , Michael ❤️🎶🙏
Very entertaining George! This is similar to how county lines works: you invite a few in as guests, next thing you know they’ve taken over your house! 👍🏼😉
Whilst those of us who only have a handful of Ukes have to change the tuning when we wish to experiment - George seems to buy another instrument!! Nice to see so many Kalas in the collection: I have a solid mahogany tenor with slotted head stock from Kala and it sounds beautiful with the new Aquila sugar strings and a low G on it!!
What a great collection. I've got ten ukes, mostly baritones. My newest one was made by Brian May Guitars and looks like The Red Special, but only has four strings (gcea).
Thanks so much George, you're an inspiration to thousands. I'm only slightly saddened you didn't grab the Russian balalaika looking thing for a demo. Thank you to you and your team for these videos. It's a welcome relief in the lockdown.
Amazing collection- I heard yesterday on Ukulele friends Hawaii that Herb Ohta Jnr would like to tab some Hawaiian music for UOGB - in addition to all his Dad's stuff! Look into it!
Cool! Questions? Which one did he get 1st, which one does he play the most, which one was lift behind and to be mailed to him, how many has he broken/ smashed ie Pete Townsend style. Thanks from Milwaukee 🧀🍻🇺🇸
Thank you George❗️ The Cordoba with the double low G sounded like Joni Mitchell songs would be played well on it! You are so talented! So many styles of playing!
I thought this pertained to George Harrison. He was a great Uke lover too, and would give them out as presents, and show anyone and everyone how anyone can play and love music. The uke has great and inexplicable power.
I don't know why this popped up in my feed today but it's wonderful timing! I basically have it on repeat while working from home. I can almost smell all those gorgeous woods! Getting your presentations on all of your beautiful babies is keeping me in my happy place.
Thanks for sharing bits of your collection... and for all the joy you bring to your playing. As a Venezuelan, I will note your cuatro made in Munich looks like a regular Venezuelan cuatro (though yours is not tuned like one, as you probably know), and your Venezuelan cuatro doesn’t look like anything I have ever seen at all...
Ha....! the second one you showed was the one I play........ The Kala (mine's a tenor - yours?) As it happens I just uploaded my first uke cover recently..... Stairway to Heaven would you believe?
Wow! That's quite a collection. Exactly how many do you have, and how do you decide which one you're going to play?? A friend of mine was told by someone that you should have an ukulele for every song you know. He said, "Well, I guess I know only 9 songs." I can see that YOU know many, many songs. ;-)
I like the twang of the wild west ukekele Nunes. I do have a ukelele but I play the guitar a bit - not too bad. Bit Pished. and thank you for being you ,
George. I'm sure I speak for many uke fans.
THANK YOU.
For sharing not only your collection but memories.
Long may you uke on.
U ni no mo
Love George, could listen to hear him chat and play for hours!
It would be great, if George had the time, to see and hear him playing each one of these. He is so talented and entertaining. I still crack up laughing when I see the Shaft video! Just one of so many great pieces. Thanks George and all of the UOGB for keeping us entertained!
I'm really looking forward to this one! George, now that's what I call a ukulele collection :-)
Thanks George for showing us. Loved your references to Kitty and the way you spoke about her. Kind greetings and support from the Netherlands.
Thank you for sharing. It is a diverse and comprehensive collection worthy of a lifetime spend playing and entertaining. Wonderful to see Kittys ukulele, since it is an integral part of the OUGB history. Thank you very much.
This so deserves a part 2!
I loved seeing your many different instruments! I feel less guilty about my own collection now!
Thank you George for taking the time and trouble to explain your collection. Very interesting.
my God! To collect this amount of ukulele I would have to choose between the instruments and my wife!
Hello George - So sorry Spivey Hall, GA was cancelled. Loving the Lockdown Specials. Thank you for the joy you all bring.
Really like the way you went through your collection, and even more so your kind references to Kitty (R.I.P)
The Pete Howlett in remembrance of Kitty was my favourite so far - but George - there's still some more to show I'm sure! :-)
Amen. Thank you George, and thanks for talking a bit about Kitty as well. You two have created a thing of transcendent good and beauty in the UOGB.
A talented and inspirational man, who leads a great group of musicians. Our group will always be in his debt. Have a very good Yorkshire Day on Saturday 1st Aug.
I love how they are just crowded together on the couch. Well loved :) Thank you for sharing.
I watched the whole thing. Very interesting. George can play darn near anything. I owe him, the UOGB was what got me started ukeing.
Thankyou Geo. For sharing..one would not have thought you would / could get so many different sounds but just few minutes into your demo gave that away. Thaks again enjoy the music you are spreading around the world .

A fascinating few minutes with a wonderful man. We miss you at the live shows, George!

George Harrison (Beatles soloist) was a HUGE Uke collector and player.
Very interesting George I noticed they all have different sounds to them so am I right in saying there are no two ukulele alike . Question what was kitty's favourite uke song that she loved playing? She was a lovely lady may she RIP she is now playing the heavenly ukulele in heaven !.
