I watch a LOT of Women's BB, and she was the best in the country last year too. Looking over all the winners in the past 10 years, I think she has a legit claim as the best in the last decade. She's already said she may play another couple of years in college. Can you imagine her stats? She'd make more money, get more press, and have much bigger crowds at Iowa than she would in the WNBA. If she gets hurt, she could go right in to coaching. Way more money there than the WNBA too. Schools would be lining up to hire her.
@@nts4906 I don't mean to offend, but I don't think the GOAT in the WNBA is as important as College or College coaching. That doesn't mean that you're wrong, just that I've never watched a complete WNBA game, and I've watched a lot of College.
I've always felt players should stay in school. Yes, miss out on big $ if they get hurt. There are a lot of alums and such that could provide a nice job after college.
This is the first I’ve ever thought about an athlete staying in college because they’ll make more money than going pro. But you’re probably right. She should be making BANK from NIL. WNBA still has very little interest from general public.
@@billsmith5166 Yeah it's true there's barely any money for the players in the WNBA. But if she plays this type of way in the WNBA, WNBA ratings are about to go up, me included.
Everyone played their hearts out! With Caitlin leading them, each and everyone gave theit best against a long and fast opponents. I have them playing Virginia Tech in the finals and they're gonna win it all!!! Caitlin, no doubt, is the best and most valuable player, not only this year but next year too!!!
She is really showing a total game, and raises her team’s play and effort by her tenacity. In other words she is elevating her teammates’ game this year even better than the first two. Turns it on and gets it done, whether it is points, assists, rebounds, steals. She never sleeps, and is always prowling, whether on offense or defense.
Caitlin Clark is in a different league. In the past few years she has played in the shadows of Paige Bueckers, Aliyah Boston, and Cameron Brink, but this season, Caitlin has proven without a doubt, hands down, she is the best. She is basketball’s complete package.
And she and her team are worthy and capable of winning the entire tournament. She has more than arrived and lifted her teammates to play with her, compliment her skills, and also elevate their own to such a degree they also believe this is it. Coach Lisa Bluder has a Larry Bird on the floor, perhaps better at times. But as we all know, tournament play in the final 8 finds surprising heroes, surprising elevations of game of not just the very best, like Clark. So, I say this because Iowa can do it, should, but these games can surprise.
I love to watch the elite ability of this Iowa born player. I think if the team keeps its energy up and can avoid being out rebounded they can not only go to the final for but can beat anyone!!
Colorado had a solid team. Honestly, I think this one goes down to the wire except for the refs being very inconsistent (both ways) and putting stars from both team on the bench. Czinano and Clark had foul trouble, but so did Colorado's starting PG Jaylyn Sherrod, who, when she was on the court, was slicing up Iowa's defense like a surgeon, and so did Colorado's Frida Formann, who was absolutely nuclear from beyond the arc in the first half. It's amazing, though, that Clark, on an "off" nite, still produces 31 and 8. I think Louisville is going to be a good test, they're as fast as any team the Hawkeyes have faced this year. I am hopeful that the Hawks can pull it off, however there's SC likely looming in the final four and I don't see Iowa beating them.
The only weakness in IOWA's game is defensive rebounding. Colorado had 32 rebounds including 7 offensive rebounds; that's not bad. Colorado had 40 rebounds including 21 offensive rebounds; that would be exceptional for Colorado except that IOWA is routinely weak on the defensive boards. If IOWA should face South Carolina without shoring up their work on the defensive board, they will get crushed.
I don't watch a lot of women's basketball, and of course, Caitlin just stands out. Her jump shot is beautiful to watch, and she has a good handle, great vision and passing ability as well. For those who follow more, how would a healthy Paige Bueckers match up with her. My impression from two years ago was that Bueckers had a better handle and court vision, and Clark the better pure scorer. Now, it seems that Clark may not take a backseat to her with playmaking, either. Who else is in their class as perimeter players? Azzi Fudd seems to have a very pure stroke, but does she have the other elements in her game? Who else?
It’s hard to say because it’s been so long since they’ve both been healthy. I can see the case for Paige having at one point being a better playmaker, not in skill set but in terms of emotional maturity. Paige has always played on dominant teams so she’s had the luxury of being able to rely on teammates while Caitlin’s always had to carry and has had to learn not to do that all the time. but Caitlin’s had two years to develop on that front and she’s certainly now outplaying the last time we saw Paige play. And she’s always been a better scorer, and it’s funny you say Paige had a better handle because I feel like Caitlin’s always had one of the best in the game.
@@LifeSizeBox Yes, no doubt about it. If she were a man the talent she has would put her above most of the other men. She's only above most of the other women.
