I use my grandmothers hand mixer. When she passed away at 97 I was given the mixer along with a book of all of her recipes and a lot of her kitchen tools. I even have a hand sewn apron she used. 🥰
sarah - I'm the grandmother here. My granddaughter has inherited all my love for sewing, crocheting, knitting, weaving and baking (and reading, writing and playing the violin - but she's smarter than me). As she is the only granddaughter I have, I am leaving her with everything including my 1860 coal / wood stove.. There's nothing more wonderful or warm than getting back to the independent basics. As far as your grandmother's recipes, you might consider putting them in a book for posterity. It's what I did for my girls - but they get their recipes online. Someday, I tell them, the internet might not be available. Hard copies are best.::))
As an atheist, you are my favourite kind of Christian. You infuse your values into your actions and your videos without slamming your viewers with scriptures and lectures. I wish everyone was like you.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one who used there grandma’s old appliances. She always saw me accurately. Never misunderstood or punished me for things I didn’t do. She didn’t ignore me. She taught me to cook and to embroider, crochet, sew, hook rugs. She died almost thirty years ago and the theme song to her soap opera is still fresh in my mind.
What soap opera did your grandma watch? As I read your comment, as soon as you said you still can imagine hearing how the soap opera sounded as it began, I too instantly had my grandmas soap opera theme song come to mind! Days of Our Lives, and As The World Turns! Now, I’m really curious to know your grandmas soap opera! Can’t wait to hear if our grandmas watched the same shows!
One more fun thing, there was a girl name Belinda, who lived close to my grandparents! Each summer, we went to visit my them, in SC, and it was nice having a girl my age, to hang out with!
Coconut oil doesn’t go rancid but bananas have a lot of moisture in them which causes molding. If dehydrated bands were powdered for flavor and vacuum sealed it should be shelf stable. The eggs were cooked so they should be fine…my opinion only.
I like to peel my bananas before freezing. Saves a step and waaayy less messy than freezing with the skins. And they aren’t all brown and slimy that way. Peel, place individually on parchment paper on a cookie sheet and freeze, then bag up for freezer storage. We use them every day for green smoothies so I even buy them with spots. My two cents. Have a blessed day!
I have a ton of frozen bananas in my freezer that I had cut and peeled...looking to clear some space...so space banana bread in a jar it is! Wash it down with some tang 😆
Wow, I know the mother of a gospel singer named Jeff Hovis, but I'm not sure what he looks like,he is from Missouri. This is my second video of yours I've watched, I really enjoy you, and your Godly ways. May the Lord bless you and your family, you truly are a blessing. Thank you.
Something that someone else might find useful- I let the bananas thaw completely, cut the very end off, then squeeze it into the bowl! Works great and usually no messy hands! 😉 Thanks for the recipe, I’m making this tomorrow!
I'm hyped! I have to share this. I just found some canned banana bread from Oct 2016! It was still sealed so I popped it open prepared for whatever. It smelled like banana bread. I sliced off a tiny piece and tasted it and IT TASTED LIKE BANANA BREAD and it was nice and moist. 2016! I should mention that when I made it I added "Fruit Fresh" to the batter which has citric and ascorbic acid in it which is a preservative. That probably made the difference. When I made this bread I experimented with different breads: pumpkin, banana, cornbread and another I forget what it was. I kept my eye on them and over time they popped up and I had to trash them. Here it is Sept 2021 and the only ones that survived long term was this banana and an Orange Pumpkin bread. I'll be trying the pumpkin bread soon. I'm thinking citric is key. Looks like I'll be looking for cheap over ripe bananas to make more canned banana bread😃😃
Such a Blessing!!! Merry Christmas!!! Thank you!!! Now I can send my boys my Pumpkin Bread!!! Bliss! Love that song!!!!! It's all about GOD always! Wonderful!
I have canned banana, cornbread and orange nut breads. They didn't keep long term. After 6 months the the lids started popping. The orange bread; however, lasted almost 2 years and was still delicious! I think it was because of being 🍊 citrus.
I've made several different types of bread this way, some sweet, some savory. 2 years on the shelf has been the maximum for quality and taste, from my experience. It seems the third year the oils get rancid. I don't have a banana bread canning recipe so thank you for this! Keep up the good work!
Oh, I must try this with freshly milled flour - so nutritious when you work with wheat berries! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills! God bless you richly.
30 years ago I used to can carrot pudding and I just kept it in my cold fruit room downstairs. We didn't have expiration dates in those days. It was look, smell, taste method in those days. Of course items with broken seals or dented cans would be thrown away.
Ms. Moses, Hello! So what do you say, there are four people here, 5 now counting me who are really, really interested in knowing how to make your carrot pudding, I’m 61, I’ve never been fond of carrots, but this pudding sounds sooo tasty...please, would you mind sharing the recipe??? Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Also wanted to pass on to Jeff, a Praise the Lord for the lovely song, God is faithful, the words so true, I've never had a burden Jesus could not bear but I've struggled to leave some at his feet that I thought I could manage, when even if I could, he can so much better than I 😊
I MADE 2 DOZEN JARS OF BANANA BREAD IN A JAR IN 12/2018 AM ATE MY LAST JAR LAST WEEK 6/2022; IT TASTED GREAT AN WAS FANTASTIC... I NOTICED THAT THE LONGER MINE WAS IN THE JAR IT TASTED RICHER.... SO THE TIME FOR IN THE JARS WERE 3 YEARS AN 6 MONTHS.... I LIKE DOIN IN THE JAR BECAUSE I DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT GOING BAD IF I DONT "HURRY UP" AN EAT IT.... I CAN CONTROL HOW MUCH I WANT AN WHEN I WANT IT.... I NEEDED TO MAKE SOME MORE BECAUSE A FEW DAYS AGO I USED MY LAST JAR AN NEEDED TO DO IT AGAIN... I WANT TO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS THEY ARE FANTASTIC.... BLESSINGS & BE HOPE FILLED FRANKI
What a really great recipe and way to preserve banana bread, also love the gift idea. Thank you! So glad this came up in my feed, am now subscribed. Merry Christmas from New Zealand.
No, if you take note, freezing was just what was done to keep the bananas till some time could be found to cook them into a recipe. If you have ripe ones and are ready to cook, go for it.
No, I peel them and put them in ziplock freezer bags, and label them by the number of bananas per bag. Then when I want to make bread, I pull out a bag, partially thaw it, and I’m ready to go.
Fantastic recipe for Christmas. Banana bread and Cranberry orange bread are my all time favorite holiday recipes. Merry Christmas to you and your family. You are a tremendous precious blessing.
I wonder if I could use my mom's recipe and do this. She went Home to Heaven a few years ago and our family treasures her recipe. The ingredients are: 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 2/3 cup sugar 1 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/4 cups ripe mashed bananas 2/3 cup buttermilk 2/3 cup butter 2 eggs 2/3 cup chopped nuts Could you advise me on this? It would just make it more special if I could do this with Mama's recipe and give it as gifts, especially to family and people who knew her. When I make this Banana Bread my family says they just know there's something "special" in it that I or Mama never told. hahaha There's not; it's just that good. I don't mind anyone copying this recipe. :-)
Lots of great tips! I've seen regular yeast bread baked in the old style all glass jars and wondered about other types of bread! I wonder whether running the bread through a hot water bath after sealing would gain more shelf life? I love your story about the old mixer! I bought one just a couple years newer than your at a yard sale back in the 80s. It lasted about 35 years! I think I got my $3 out of it! 😂 Your husband plays and sings beautifully!
Thanks for your special instructions on this bread. I'm going to try it. I have lotsa bananas in my freezer also, so this recipe will be perfect in every way. Merry Christmas! Happy New Years 🎇 too!
Ceylon Cinnamon pronounced like 'see lonn'. Basically it means the cinnamon has been harvested and prepared in Sri Lanka as the light brown cinnamon sticks rather than the hard cassia bark variety.
Hi Gerry! I'm so grateful you know about Ceylon Cinnamon. For those who are allergic to the standard Cinnamon sold in the U.S., it's because of many (simple) reasons. When we learned about this from my cousin who was going to culinary school, at the time, we invested in a beautiful Organic Ceylon as a test, and it has been amazing to have (the best tasting!!) it back in our recipes! What a treat and blessing! Thank you for mentioning this lovely Cinnamon! Hopefully, more people try it and abandon what we've grown up with. 🥰💕
Sorry, just wanted to mention, you could put this mix or any similar in a used bean can or some other & bake in or over fire coals - this obviously is for eating that evening or the next morning for breaky.
This looks wonderful! I wish I had seen this video a couple weeks ago to prep bananas and give this bread for Christmas gifts. I gave my children and grandchildren cookies in a jar, and Chai mix for the adults. They looked beautiful, but banana bread in a jar would have been a nice touch! I have decided to give these types of gifts throughout the year, as long as canning jar supplies hold out! Your background is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing! 🎁
I love the "God loves me song" and then looking in the tag list for "SHTF". Hey Jesus wanted us to be prepared in all seasons...if that's not love I don't know what is. When there's no refrigeration or electricity that jar of banana bread will be such a blessing.

I peel and put my bananas into zip lock bags or another container and then when I need them all I have to do is mash them and put them in the recipe. Interesting that we call that "blender" by different names. I have always called it a hand mixer. I would like to hear other names for that wonderful kitchen machine.
Hi Christa, thanks for the great recipe - I did buy pecans, I thought, but when I went to make it, I couldn't find them. I appreciate all the health warnings, and moreover the comments from those before health warnings & use by dates, was even better. At our place I made a dozen, and by the second day they've already eaten more than half, so we'll have no probs with spoilage 😂 they are very moist, even though they're well cooked. There great for snacks. I'll have to hide some or maybe even one, to see if they last past a week - that's pretty difficult in our house😊
Your videos are fantastic! You have an amazing voice and great annunciation. The pace of your delivery is also perfect. You could make professional instructional videos. I just found your channel this evening and, after watching two of your videos, subscribed immediately. I also like the fact that you end each video with some scripture or gospel based song. Thank you for what you do!
Ouch! I never knew before I watched this video what bone char was, let alone its use in manufacturing sugar cane. Now I have to cut out all sweets from my diet -which I was doing, OK, with, but I still make apple pie for the children with - bone char! I thank you for waking me up to this. Honey is the way I'll go from now on.

Especially the fact that you are a follower of Jesus. Be blessed. Kind regards Charmaine Morris
❤ what a blessing
That's really great because you & her can do those things together.😊❤🇯🇲
As an atheist, you are my favourite kind of Christian. You infuse your values into your actions and your videos without slamming your viewers with scriptures and lectures. I wish everyone was like you.
THIS is what a Godly soul SHOULd be. 🙏🏽❤️ Thus is what I hope and what I hope my children would be. Everyone really.

OMG< after forty years I still heat the theme to Days of OUr Lives, that my grandma watched every day after lunch. Thanks for hte memory!
If you want to lengthen shelf life, leave out the pecans. Oils within the nuts will eventually turn rancid and spoil the loaf.
Great recipe!
The recipe has butter in it, I really wouldn't worry about the nut oils
Amd use extra bananas and omit the eggs to lengthen the shelf life. I agree re: nuts
Coconut oil doesn’t go rancid but bananas have a lot of moisture in them which causes molding. If dehydrated bands were powdered for flavor and vacuum sealed it should be shelf stable. The eggs were cooked so they should be fine…my opinion only.
If there’s no oxygen and it’s dark, the nuts can last for years.
Why we can meat with fats

To the lady with the golden heart: than you and merry Christmas!
I have my great grandma Molly's hand sewn apron and my mother's 55 year old GE hand mixer!! Precious items truly.

I just made this. It's delicious and SO moist. It won't last 4 months!
Your mixer was the exact same one my Aunt Betty used. It was so bittersweet watching you use it, and your Spirit is exactly like hers.♥️
Love the fire in the back behind the jars of canned bread and the beautiful song at the end of the video!!!🥖🔥😋🎼
I love my stand mixer. Kitchenaid makes my life so much easier

The recipe looks scrumptious! And what a lovely bonus that song was...I enjoyed it immensely.
Thank you for the gift that keeps on giving ….food is loved by all…stay blessed
I know the jars as widemouth jars. Thank you for sharing. Definitely going to try this for Christmas.
I loved making and will continue to can banana and zucchini bread like this. Thank you
You need to write a guide for new preppers. I'd certainly buy it.

Yay, i made these with you today.
God bless! Thank you for sharing your recipes and information on how to prepare our foods for future use.

Loved the recipe and SONG!

I wouldnt cook anything in a tin can.. Aluminum is not healthy.. It leaches into food
Thank you for this cute and delicious gift idea.
I love your videos, specially the end when you read a scripture or play a song!
This looks wonderful! I wish I had seen this video a couple weeks ago to prep bananas and give this bread for Christmas gifts.
Great recipe! Merry Christmas!
I appreciate you. God bless you and yours in this coming year.
I will try this canning experience this week when the house is quiet. Looks great
I just love your show. Great little gifts . I love Banana nut bread. ❤️❤️
Been subbed for a while. Thought I “rang the bell” a while ago. Anyways, now I’ll get all notifications. Please tell me you are writing a book? I am a big fan of hard copy.
Until then, I’m writing a lot of stuff learned on this channel down. Can’t wait to try this!
So very awesome just love these!🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅
You are so wonderful. I have been watching your videos for awhile. So helpful. Thank you!!!

Have a happy christmas thanks giving and great new year guy
My fave bread! What a sweet gift idea. SO wanna try this. Blessings to you.
I got my dear Grandma‘a apron & I love your red cookie sheet! Love your channel❤️
Love the recipe and the song.....
I have baked banana bread for years. I used to sell them to medical students and friends when I lived in Mexico. The cakes, breads, and pastries in Mexico are commonly made with lard and many Americans living in Mexico did not like the taste of the lard or the negative health aspects of it. As a result I was baking about 3-5 banana breads a day. I used pecans I bought at the open market and you had to bake them first in the oven before using them in recipes or eating them.
New info is coming to light they lied about the oils and lard WAS good for us! High in vitamin D, heart healthy, and good for immune system.
Mexicans used lard? That’s a healthy option if you like the taste. I wonder about ghee.
Wonderful video... Love the song at the end ❤️❤️🙏🙏 God Bless you and your family from middle GA 🙏 Kendra Merry CHRISTmas
Thank you for this. Now I can save freezer space.
fantastic!! Thankyou, well done
I absolutely love your videos. God bless you
I love these videos always adds to my knowlege base
I really enjoyed this. Thank you for all you do
I can't wait to try. I'd seen recipes for canned bread before but was afraid to try because of the botulism warning. But the way you explained it makes me feel comfortable making some. You remind me of Annette Funacello (sp?). I love your videos.
This gift will not last long enough for it to even go 24 hours. And it could probably last for weeks without any problem
This could kill you and there is NO way to keep it safe!
Awesome recipe. Such a pleasure listening to you!
Cool!
I always use walnuts in mine. This sounds great.
Merry Christmas, Christa!! Thank you for all your tips!
Absolutely love this! Every video you make is great! Merry Christmas and may God bless you beyond your greatest imagination!
I peel and put my bananas into zip lock bags or another container and then when I need them all I have to do is mash them and put them in the recipe. Interesting that we call that "blender" by different names. I have always called it a hand mixer. I would like to hear other names for that wonderful kitchen machine.
I call it a mixer too. I have a hand mixer and a stand mixer. What I call a blender has a pitcher attached.
We call it both down here in the South!
Thank you very much. Mary you be blessed.
Nice
Such a nice food gift idea! Thank You! Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
I just love your videos!
Merry Christmas!!🙏💐😁🎄 Hello from Washington State!!😁💐💐💐
I will have to try the recipe! Merry Christmas!
I was thinking the same as you when I herd about dry canning. I do like the idea you are talking. I did not know about the shoulder.
Happy Holidays you videos are always amazing. Ice cream scoop to fill jars another alternative. God bless ☺
Thank You Jesus for coming to save us!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
We love You!
I appreciate this! I always wondered how to make this in jars😊Have a wonderful day.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. May His Blessings be bestowed upon you.
wonderful recipe.. Blessings ❤️
