@Holly Ridge Homestead the farmers that i have been trapping for. Are now letting guys run dogs on the hogs. I understand that the farmers are trying to save money. You know we as trappers can catch more hogs than the dogs will catch

I saw another hog trapping channel with an interesting trap design. He had the basic game changer type trap but instead of a gate, it had a net for the opening using the continuous catch approach of the pig brig. Seems like a winning approach because then you get the reliability of a regular trap but don't have to stay up all night waiting to manually drop the gate. The pigs keep coming in on their own.

I’ve seen it before. I practice whole sounder catch. I condition, get head count of the sounder and wait until I know they are all in. By doing this you will never educate a hog what a trap is. It’s the only proven method that works. But it only works with a proper designed trap and approach to whole sounder catch.
