I give you all the flowers for calling Jeff Cobb "Matanza Cueto" 💀 I definitely think that if Takeshita does go back to AEW, he needs to cut all ties with Don Callis and get a huge push. I'd personally rather see him stay in Japan, he has clearly shown out in this tournament, the fans like him, and I think his future there looks much brighter.
Shouts out to Goto, Takeshita, Great O'Khan, ELP, Kidd and Henare. These guys have had some of my favorite matches this tournament. Goto main event win and moment with his kids was really nice. Really wanted Goto to get a world title win earlier this year.
@@planescaped agreed. Main event scene is too stacked in AEW, but New Japan is in need of new fresh stars. I hope this isn't just a one off for Takeshita.
Favorite Match: Takeashita vs Goto or ELP really expected more from Tsuji don’t know if the way he handled the messy ending helped him look any better either but over really good to great tournament.
What a fun goddamn few nights of block action! I really like what they are doing with the factions, having one new blood and one veteran heavyweight contender in almost each. HoT you have Ren and Evil, J5G you have Sanada and Yuya, Hontai has Shota and Tana (bit of a stretch on that one but hey) and LiJ has Naito and Tsuji. UE is a bit mixed, it has 4 viable heavyweights in Cobb, Okhan. Henare and now Newman (and TJP if he transitions). Chaos is left stranded, it has a few old boomers, good old boomers, but boomers nonetheless. They need a charismatic young lion with them....time for Oiwa to return?
Went into this tournament with low expectations but high hopes, and they have blown it out of the water both in booking and wrestling. Takashita IMO is probably the best in ring wrestler in the world right now. Excited for the rematch between Tsuji and Takashita. I'm hoping for a ZSJ win in the final.
I’m not gonna lie before the tournament I was hoping this would be a great chance for Takeshita to shine but now I honestly want him to stay here maybe a loan deal? AEW could help them out in return the the great raid or maybe strengthen their relationship. What are your thoughts?
Are they really going to have Yota Tsuji win the new Japan cup and the G1? Its not going to sky rocket him. We seen Naito vs Tsuji at Sakura Genesis already and now they are supposed to main event the Tokyo Dome? Also Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th. It would be better if it was just Aew and NJPW but with stardom and CMLL we are going to have a bunch of tag matches that will have no stakes.
Has any other person who went into the G1 carrying the IWGP title ended the tournament with as many losses as Naito has this year? Don't get me wrong I think it was the right choice but it does cement my view I had going into Forbidden Door, that Naito washed an that they'd be better to but the title on almost anyone else.

I think Takeshita in New Japan has far more potential, than in AEW.
I have been saying this to a mate for a bit now he would do so much better in NJPW
In AEW he's just another guy.
In NJPW he is IWGP championship material.
@@planescaped very true if he could speak good English he would be a world champ in the US as well AEW are doing the boy dirty

@@vladboch Lets hope this leads to him splitting time in both companies.

"I've beaten Naito more times than he's had dodgy haircuts." ZSJ all the way!

Takeshita vs Yota and Shingo vs Okahn in the playoffs!
