add to my commit, I bought it at Home Depot for $149 plus tax and it comes with a 1 year factory warranty and for another $18 i got 2 more years free fix or replace from home Depot so that is 3 years no worries, total invested was $205 with DeWalt jump starter and warranty and tax and 25 'extension cord, it is well worth it
i bought this Dewalt jump starter and have used it 2 times now and it was so very easy to use and worked great, just hook up red to red and black to black and turn the DeWalt jump start to the on position and then start the car and then turn off the switch to the DeWalt jump starter and take off the cables, that is all there is to it, i have a jeep with the 4.0 straight 6 and it starter so easy
Do not listen to the haters this he DeWalt jump starter Works fantastic I jump start my Jeep with the 5. 2 V8 three times with the same charge on the DeWalt and still full charge I just bought a new battery for my Jeep.
Just bought this,,can it be overcharged? got it charging for 1st time, been charging about an hour and shows full battery, but says to charge 40hrs out of the box.
thanks for the review the first thing I like to do is replace the factory 18ah china made battery with a 22ah made from japan or the U.S , you will get more power and better run time , that doesn't surprise me on the build quality I have seen alot of shortcuts inside of these things !
I just bought this product and as soon as I used it the first time one of the rivets in the red clamp broke off. I fixed that very quick. My second point here is that this charger has a lot of power. I have a Nissan Armada and this engine is huge. It started it at the first try. The other thing is that the charger is heavy. But probably is something I should expect given its capacity. Yes , I will keep it.
i've had a few boosters and not one so far would start a car with no battery (completely dead like that one). even that slow turning over of the engine is pretty good.
As he stated the car has not been STARTED IN 10 Years. no lubrication to the valve train and how dry are the cylinders, Anyone whoever works around old car knows you should pull out the plugs and use penetrating oil to lubricate the cylinders and crank it over with the plugs out and wait until it builds oil pressure. Would of liked to see other brands crank over that dry engine to see how they do.
wanted to fix this car up but it wasnt worth the cost to do it. even changing the tires would be more then what the car was worth so ahd to say bye to my old mans car. i returned the dewalt starter though. the metal clamps start to fall apart when that one thing came out was inexcusable.
where do you find parts .wont power on with new battery but compressor hums if you touch one of the other terminals afraid to touch both at the same time fear of getting shock
That was turning really slow. The car had gas you said. It wasn't turning fast enough to start. Thanks for the review but I will keep looking for a booster pak to buy.
Another one whom was fooled by the highly advertised product which appeared as best appealing experience, when I put the unit to the test, experienced a fading battery power for retaining charge to start an engine, meaning cheap battery. When it is stored for more than one month, I needed to recharge it fully again, although it was showing partially charged. When, the compressor required to inflated the tire on my GMC 2500 Van which requires some 60 PSI, I could not pass 37 PSI. When I tried to repair it, I found out the air compressor consisting of a electrical motor 12 VDC, which was the primer for a pump made of a piston generating air to be delivered via a plastic (PVC) gear wheel about 11/4" rotating a small wheel that by itself moves the piston. I further noticed this plastic gear was worn out at the hub and the motor couldnot be entangled via another smaller metal gear attached to the motor. Just a nightmare, as you cannot even get a service manual and you have to call to send the unit to the authorized dealer like Mercedes Benz. I was shocked why the manufacturer has not chosen both gears in steel or aluminum or some other lasting material, so it would not stop working after some time, then I thought for making to work, I had to insert two peace of metal inside around the hub with soldering iron to entangle the bigger plastic gear to the smaller metal gear from the motor side entangled and not slipping. I got it to work. I was so mad, that I was going to throw away the whole unit for non-working features as it occupied space and it was not doing the job (Air Compressor). It has been a nuisance in my head in past two years. It is like my Dewalt drills that I end up throwing them away prematurely, because their batteries suck after some time and you have to pay over $100 for one battery (Bulky) or further that the switch for forward and reverse stops working. I would not buy any more Dewalt products, especially when it comes to power tools. The best in power tools that I ever have had was Bush, I dropped them from height of a 10', 6' ladders at least 15 times, still working against my surprise. They are light, stronger, cheaper for the value for sure. Now, I cannot work with no other tools but Bush. I have noted Dewalt products are not designed for pros, but for average home users, who use tools once in a blue moon. Those who have newer cars and they may use a power pack once in a five years. I have four vehicles two trucks 3500, 2500 GMC And two Dodge passenger cars, I need something reliable. I strongly believe, you could not ever getting 60 PSI from bring and new Dewalt Compressor unit. Why even bother buying one.
If my unit is reading 13.9V... does that mean it’s fully charged??? I don’t wanna overcharge n kill it.. it’s not shutting off it just stays charging for 3 days now!!! I can guarantee it’s overcharged n wasting my new dewalt charger..
the first time you drain the battery down completely, how long should you charge? I read somewhere that you should charge it 40 hours the first time, the 10 hours the following times.. seems excessive to me..
It’s just say jump starter But if you had to use as a charger battery with it like you hook up extension cord and you can run it for hours to charge a battery

Don't buy this! Mine arrived without instructions or a manual of any kind. The unit looks used. It's dirty and has scuffs and scrapes all over the casing and cord. The switch was left in the "ON" position, and the battery is completely dead. Did they send me a unit that was returned from a previous owner? This is going back, and I won't be buying any more DeWALT products.
Ha ha ha ha ha. !!! Dude !! show us you trying to start the car “without” it hooked up so we know that the battery is dead !! And if you think that your attempt was actually turning the engine over you must be high on ganja !!
well there no gas due to leaking fuel lines. that v6 cyliner is Gm's 3.6L 3800 engine. they are bullet proof engines and kept making them for almost 20 years.
i bought one and have used it two times and i have a 4. straight 6 and with a low that barely rolls the engine over and then hook up the dewalt jump starter and it rolls it over faster than the car battery does and the car battery is brand new, but is have a drain somewhere in the car and when it sits for a week it is hard to start from low battery, and i put the jump starter on and it flies over fast, it is a good product i think after using it

a product that shouldnt have the dewalt logo on it unfornately
very good video keep up the good job 'gotmine and no charging cord for 12 volt

he cant because the car never started, the car has to be running to do the test

back when cars were made with pride

It’s made by B&W and has over 50% failure rate. Neither dewalt nor b&w will honor warranty. Total junk. Avoid it like a two dollar Hooker
Is there a charging indicator? I can’t tell if mine is charging or not.
He should have waited for a little bit so I could kind of charge up to turn it on but the engine was not cranking too much. Gas or no gas
