He loves talking to ppl and being around ppl. That stimulated & inspired him. He didnt have to teach next generation, but he felt its his moral obligation before his time was up on earth.
In my humble opinion. Bernstein was my generation’s greatest teacher. I shifted from music to English teaching and I always marveled at how he would make subjects do accessible. His masterpiece of teaching has to be the six Norton Lectures that he gave at Harvard in which he equated music with language. I always find myself coming back to them with love and devotion.
