Dear Brant, there is no one like you, everytime I listened to you I'm change spiritually and I especially love ❤️ your sense of humor. When you and Matt joke I can't help but laugh and feel your joy.
Hahaha "Are you talking to your trees Brant?". I love matthew's style of poking Brant like a younger brother. Then Brant gets him right back: "you look like you need to get in shape". LOL. Love it!
Profundissimus! Yep, no need for words. Only sighs and groans for the poverty of earthly languages cannot describe The Truth, The Beauty and The Goodness of YHWH ADONAI ELOHIM!
Truly a serious well put together informative video presentation on the spiritual life in the Catholic Church I thank both of you men who spoke very well on the spiritual topics excellent 👍👌🙏
THANK YOU 🙏🏼 THANK YOU 🙏🏼 SO MUCH!!! This is all so true based on my own personal experiences…. And YES IT IS A TRUE SACRIFICE and so easy TO SAY NO! on any given day when tempted by Satan NOT TO GO, AND EACH STEP TAKES TIME TO DEVELOP depending on how you respond to the HOLY SPIRIT’s call to LEARN, STUDY, READ, and pray, meditate, & contemplate on THE GREATEST “I AM.” What helped for me to grow immensely in my spiritual growth is taking time and making a sacrifice each day as much as possible in the Church-Chapel with and in front of the HOLY BLESSED SACRAMENT🤍…….. THAT is how it happened for me!!!!!!! Started with one hour, (with fasting yes!) then, 2 hours at a time…… and now I don’t want to leave anymore when I am with Him in His Home, and usually wait until the evening Benediction🕯……. It is indeed A TRUE SACRIFICE And very challenging & DIFFICULT to do, yet, is A TRUE BLESSING at the same time… LORD HAVE MERCY ON US SINNERS & Thank you OH LORD for loving us❤️!!! 🙏🏼🕯🙏🏼📖🕊
I recently read Dr. Brant Pitre's book after I completed Theresa's of Avila's 9 Grades of Prayer series. This interview was great! All three, 1. "The Introduction to the Spiritual Life", 2. Theresa of Avila's 9 Grades of Prayer (I got your autograph on the study guide at the Columbus Mens Conference this year!) and this interview all supported each other and have a synergy adding and supporting each other! Absolutely mind blowing! Thanks so much for providing this interview! Loved the interaction between you two and watching it felt like I was in the room with you! You both have taught me so much! I'm a 69 year old cradle Catholic and never knew how to pray or realized the seven cardinal sins and alternative virtues. It opened a whole new world (spiritually) for me. I am drawn every morning to spend and hour or more going through prayers, and Lectio Divina and just started "The Bible in a Year". I hope to pass all I have learned along to members in my Parish! I love all your podcasts! God bless you both!
“Deal with the stuff that is in the realm of your own influence … “ And LET GOD take care of everything else!” YES! YES 🙌🏼thank you Matthew! It is very challenging to keep, but this is so true!😊
Matthew: I agree with the comment of Holyhoff: “You two are so great together!” I LOVE being present with the two of you discussing “The Spiritual Life”. Can you imagine a weekend seminar with the two of you presenting “The “Spiritual Life”! Looking forward to that!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you both! It was an incredible interview. Please PLEASE DO THE SECOND PART !!!! It is so good to hear and to be challenged...! And is such an important matter that I believe it is so necessary to be reminded of it. Bless you both. May our Lord bless you and the ones you love be always in Him.
I am so happy to see this video. I just got the book from Amazon yesterday and i cant wait to read it!! Thank you so much for your show. God bless you and DrPitre.
Glad to hear this, I hope brant knows that doing these videos actually works well for promoting his books. As soon as I heard this I immediately purchased from audible. Man I needed this 🙌 🙏 thank you Brant and Matt
Contemplation. The precious and impactful moment when God says Now. Pay attention. Come. As strong and fast as an arrow through the heart. As paralyzing a hold it will release you only when He chooses. To me, since Two experiences are never the same with Our Father, I would say giving love in your heart to Everyone around you gets us there too. Silently saying I love you, I love you, I love you, to everyone you meet or see, imagining giving away your heart to every stranger. Practice, practice And God will send an electrifying energy through your heart and open it to be with Him. It’s not only through spoken prayer or meditative prayer but by constant and permanent charity and love that God says Now you can see with your heart my child. And you’ll flow in the rhythm of no resistance, you will be like lit candle at the feet of God. Lighting, moving, rocking with God’s energy and Love. Like breathing under water, under the waves floating in a still silent Love. May we practice Loving everyone of God’s children for He will let us see
I'd like to dialogue with one or both of you as one who's been on this way, as a layman, and who has practiced this simple prayer 45 years. And would offer that, at this stage in my practice that I'm experiencing, the grace's are more than can ever be imagined. I'm a retired CPA for Pete's sake, and raised 4 kids, and at 66 years old, envision something very productive .... Even contribute with some comments on the unitive stage. I'm very happy to hear this conversation you guys are having. I'd also be prepared to offer insights of de Caussade and Dom John Chapman... interested?
Well when you speak about anger you convicted me of something I’ve been thinking of recently. Every time I see Biden I say something I shouldn’t say about him: you’re such a fool. It’s hard! Would I really be going to hell for saying that? Seriously.
Don't take the chance, Esther. Pray for his conversion (because wouldn't that be great) and because Jesus tells us we have to pray for our enemies. Oppose that vice with the virtue of charity. It's helped me tremendously.
A test you can give yourself. Would you be happier if something bad happened to the person in question whomever it is (justice)? Or would you be happier if they changed their way and came back to God and were forgiven (mercy). It’s not easy to will the good of someone you disagree with or consider an enemy especially in todays unforgiving society. But in the end do I want Justice or do I want mercy? I’d prefer mercy myself. I still cringe when I hear certain people talk and be praised all over the media but I make myself practice willing the good of them and ask for them to receive mercy.
Brant has made many interesting discoveries about the history and facts of the people in the Bible. It’s of great interest to many people. You are not interesting.
@@sliglusamelius8578 Yes, but the most important aspects of The Bible remain undemonstrated. If it's just a book of mythology with a bit of real history sprinkled throughout, that's fine. Insight can be found within it's pages. But does that mean the God described within the bible actually exists? Does that mean that Jesus actually resurrected? Does that mean heaven and hell exist? Of course not, which is why I compared it to other works of fiction - plenty can be studied and learned about them, but that doesn't mean the entirety of the works are true and describe reality.
@@WintersunExtras It’s not a fiction book at all. The writers of the NT were clearly telling history as they perceived it. A few books of the OT are fictional or have some fictional accounts, but much of it is historical as demonstrated by archaeologists.
The two intelligent people I admire the most, Dr. Brant Pitre and Matthew Leonard❤❤❤

I’ve enjoyed and gained so much appreciation with this subject. I’ve watched it 3 times so far.

Thank you I love this teaching so much

Perfectly said.
Thank you for discussing in a straightforward way such a valuable aspect of coming closer to God.
Thank you both for having crucifix and mater in the background, I can pause and absorb what you're saying and meditate with them in view.
I am reading Dr Brant book and I only knew about vocal prayers and even then I was doing it the wrong way.
Thank you for this book,

What if I am angry, but don't express it verbally, only in my mind. Is that also a sin?
