      @@brit1066 Hi, my understanding is very similar to what Quantum Mechanics is telling us: that underlying all of our "reality" is the Quantum Field, and one way to think of it is as infinite Consciousness (God), creating and sustaining everything. I believe that Consciousness may also be thought of as Love, and our individual consciousnesses (love) is but a small part or manifestation of God's. If you're interested in this line of reasoning search RUclips for the Inspiring Philosophy videos they do an excellent job of explaining. Good luck and God bless 🙏

      J Spanyer Oh I thought you believed in the guy who fathered a human called Jesus Christ.
      You say that GOD is INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS!
      That does NOT sound like the god of the Bible.
      Can you DEFINE INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS for me, I looked in the Bible and found NO MENTION of INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS.
      Is this a widely held view of GOD in the scientific community.
      I can confidently predict that if you said to the average GOD freak that GOD WAS INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS, you would get a VERY CONFUSED if not BLANK STARE.
      If you look into virtually ANY CHURCH or even in a bible will you find a drawing of an elderly bearded man with a very bright halo.
      Entitled GOD (INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS).???????
      Is this the BEST you can do, you are PATHETIC.

      @@MatthewLeonard Matthew would you consider what I know to be true directly from God the Father and if you agree would you be able and willing to inform Dr John Bergsma what I am revealing here today. I have stopped the video just now where Dr Bergsma is speaking of two Messiahs one being the priesthood. That is correct it is because Revelation 12:1-5 is relating to the second coming of Jesus by priest DNA from another woman. The woman is a descendant of Phinehas by whom Father God made a covenant his offspring would be priests to time indefinite Numbers 25:10-13. Hebrews 1:6 foretells God the Father would again bring His Firstborn into the inhabited earth. On that day the woman's child was caught away to His Father in heaven before the serpent could devour the woman's child Rev. 12:5. This was prophesied by Jacob the Patriarch of the two women in Genesis 49:10, 25. For the sceptre and commanders staff did depart from between Judah's feet for Shiloh has come to whom the obedience of the peoples belongs. At the end of verse 25 you will see written 'blessings of breasts and blessing of womb' that is because in the first coming when Yehoshua learned obedience by the things he suffered and after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him. Because he has been specifically called by God a high priest according to the manner of Melchizedek; as it is written Hebrews 5:8-10.
      Blessings of breasts is plural for when Yehoshua was born in the king linage Mary nurtured the Son of God and when the child of God was caught away to God in His second coming he was again nurtured by Mary a second time. The blessing of womb is singular for the woman who gave birth in Revelation 12 prophesy did not nurture her child born from high priest linage that the Son of God will rule as King and High Priest in the manner of Melchizedek. I would like to reveal much more. and offer all information to Dr Gergsma if he will permit me. I do.not want to receive any benefit at all for the information I seek to fulfil the obligation my Elohim has given me to fulfil and that begins with finding a person who is willing to examine all factual evidence I can provide and find out from one witness who was also told about the coming again of the Son of God into the world. This will be a miracle if you contact me I will explain why it will be a miracle.
      ps. read please Matthew 1:22,23 for I was told by my Elohim this Son of God in the second coming is called by His Father Emmanuel meaning when translated 'With Us Is God'. ps there is so much more I need to explain!

    Very great talk, really appreciate and like Dr. Bergsma. Interesting insights. I would however disagree with his Passover hypothesis, which falls under the 'Two Calendar Hypothesis'. Benedict XVI offers a different view, as does Pitre in 'The Last Supper,' a great text. John never says, "the day of preparation for the passover," but "the day of preparation" (Jn 19:31) - i.e. for the Sabbath, a solemn sabbath due to its falling on the seven day Passover festival. This is a simple way to correlate the truth of the Synoptics and John. Pitre's view that the crucifixion occurred on the first day of Passover doesn't seem right either though, being such a solemn and busy day. Benedict stated as such (as opinion of course, not pontifically).

    Dr. John misses an important possibility with regard to the 'double messiah'. Jesus' mother's cousin was the wife of a kohen who ministered in the temple. therefore, Elizabeth had to be of a kohenic family. Mary, her cousin, may also have been of a kohenic family, therefore. Since Jesus received all his DNA from Mary, he would then also be, by bloodline, a kohen. He was of the Davidic line through the law by the inheritance of an adopted child to Joseph but He may have been a kohen by genetic inheritance. If that is the case, the Essenes were correct that the messiah would be both a kohen and a king.

    • @Historian212
      @Historian212 3 года назад +1

      To this day, Kohen descent is only through the father, so how does that work? The ancients didn't know about DNA -- and if you're going to cite DNA, it's rather absurd to suggest that Jesus got all his DNA from Mary. If you're going to go by scientific reasoning, then there's no such thing as a virgin birth. Why even bring DNA into it? If a miracle is a miracle, and if faith is faith, DNA had nothing to do with it, and there's no need to "prove" that Jesus was from a high priestly lineage.

      @@Historian212 Because Jesus was human. We all agree on that except for those who try to claim he never existed. If he was human, he got his DNA from somewhere and that needs to be accounted for because it is real and his makeup depended on it. God doesn't have physical DNA, so where did it come from? If you don't believe that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived, then you can postulate that his human father was Joseph and that's where half his DNA came from, although that clearly contradicts what the gospel writers claim, or you can say what many Jewish scholars say, that his father was someone other than Joseph (thus Joseph's quandry when he found out Mary was pregnant) and that Mary was unfaithful to him, or as some Jews claim "She was a loose woman". If any of these other theories are true, then that changes who Jesus was in a major way. So, fundamentally, Christians have to believe what Mary said about his paternity because no other human being knows. Even those who postulate that it was a man other than Joseph, or Joseph himself, they have no evidence or proof for this belief. It is, after-all, a belief, not a provable fact.

    The point is not if Joh. 3:3-10 is talking about water-and spirit-baptism. The point is it’s being a later Greek way of mindset and not at all a Jewish expression to talk about being “born again or from above”.
    Anyway, the interpretation of what the unknown author of John was writing about, was not that the wilderness sect was using some kind of water baptism (with spirit baptism), like John the Baptizer later used, but turned the spirit baptism with fire over to his cousin Jesus to handle.
    The typological image of being born again is clearly right just like as Nicodemus grasped it. The part that Jesus was blaming him for was that Nicodemus thought Jesus was talking about physical birth.
    The author really meant for Jesus to give Nicodemus an allegorical picture of the amniotic fluid (water) birthing out first, as well as when the child begins the journey out, with the help of the woman’s strain and effort, being born with his or her first breath (spirit) and scream.

And Zechariah was killed near the altar (which Jesus mentioned when denouncing His current generation) cuz he refused to disclose his son's location cuz the soldiers were looking for his son cuz, you know, Herod was ordering the massacre and stuff

They had argued that there was an alternate calendar used up in the area of Galilee that is approved and legal from a Judaism perspective. So this is confirmation on this matter, of those particular visions from the 1820s. Have you read these?

    The Essenes seem to have been a separatist movement, requiring their members to not engage in commerce with outsiders and not participating in the Temple cult. John the Baptist and Jesus, on the other hand, reach out to outsiders and invite them into relationship in God's Kingdom. The Essene movement did not survive the Jewish War in 66-70 AD while the Church reached out to the Gentile world and brought the Gospel to the nations.

      @Tom Jenkins
      Tom,
      Ask your biblical "gurus": Where does the Bible teach that Christians did not baptize their babies since apostolic times, or that they were prohibited from doing so?
      Did they forget to read what Jesus taught about the importance of children in His Kingdom?
      LUKE 18:15-17
      15. Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
      16. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
      17. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
      So I ask you Tom:
      I ask you:
      Does the word, "everyone", specifically excludes children?
      If it does,
      Why did Peter ask that everyone be baptized, without exclusions?
      ACTS 2:38-39
      38. And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
      39. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.”
      Baptism is the Christian equivalent of circumcision, or “the circumcision of Christ”:
      COLOSSIANS 2:11-12
      11. In him also you were circumcised with a spiritual circumcision, by putting off the body of the flesh in the circumcision of Christ;
      12. when you were buried with him in BAPTISM, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
      Thus, like circumcision, BAPTISM can be given to children as well as adults. The difference is that circumcision was powerless to save (Gal. 5:6, 6:15), but “Baptism . . . now saves you” (1 Pet. 3:21).
      The first explicit evidence of children of believing households being baptized comes from the early Church, where infant baptism was uniformly upheld and regarded as apostolic. In fact, the only reported controversy on the subject of Baptism was a third-century debate whether or not to delay baptism until the eighth day after birth, like its Old Testament equivalent, circumcision!
      IRENAEUS BISHOP OF LYON 189 A.D.
      (He identified the authors of all four Gospels)
      “He, Jesus, came to save all through himself; all, I say, who through him are reborn in God: infants, and children, and youths, and old men..."
      HIPPOLYTUS 215 A.D.
      “Baptize first the children, and if they can speak for themselves let them do so. Otherwise, let their parents or other relatives speak for them” (The Apostolic Tradition 21:16 [A.D. 215]).
      ORIGEN 248 A.D.
      “Every soul that is born into flesh is soiled by the filth of wickedness and sin. . . . In the Church, baptism is given for the remission of sins, and, ACCORDING TO THE USAGE OF THE CHURCH, BAPTISM IS GIVEN EVEN TO INFANTS. If there were nothing in infants which required the remission of sins and nothing in them pertinent to forgiveness, the grace of baptism would seem superfluous” (Homilies on Leviticus 8:3 [A.D. 248]).
      May God bless your discernment.

      Chris Bailey: I'm against forced conversion too... many non-Catholics seem to think this is what Christ asked to do... when the apostles preached "convert" it meant convert from your wicked ways, convert to better human lives... not in religion... as much as they prayed in the name of FATHER, SON AND SPIRIT, blessing people... they had no right to conversion to religion by force... they had to teach the way of life asking people to follow his footsteps and not another religious fanatic group...

    Great interview, however, if one reads the Mystical City of God, one reads that when the Holy Family fled to Egypt Our Lady, by God's permission, sent her angels to warn Elizabeth about Herod's order to kill the infants. Zechariah, John the Baptist's father was murdered by Herod's henchman. According to this apocryphal writing, King Herod was searching for John the Baptist and sent guards to Zechariah to find out where he was. Zechariah replied that he is always in the temple area serving God and had no idea where John could be. When threatened with death, Zechariah is said to reply: “I am God’s martyr, if you shed my blood; for the Lord will receive my spirit, because you shed innocent blood at the vestibule of the temple of the Lord.
    ” (Protoevangelium of James, 23). According to this story, the guards killed him and his body was found later on.

I disagree that the ecumenical council would do what you’re suggesting here. Canon law experts say that if the Pope were in fact to endorse heresy he would automatically no longer be Pope and the college of Cardinals would have to find a new one. So relax. I don't think it's ironic. Conversion to Catholicism comes naturally after studying history, philosophy and theology. As a result, many genuine converts are much more passionately knowledgeable about the faith than many cradle Catholics, who never really bothered to study the history of Christendom and theology. I don't know if you've noticed the same thing, but the majority of Catholics I know and meet know very little about their own faith. Many don't even believe in moral truths upheld by Church, such as the sin of contraception or even fornication, and many don't believe in the real presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The thing is, a non-Catholic who doesn't come to learn the truth of the dogmas of the Catholic Church, just doesn't convert, so the ones who do convert, often do so because they've studied and gained much knowledge. (Although some conversions may be less genuine... done for reasons of converting to one's spouse's religion, for example, even though they don't really believe.)
