This Mod made my Honda Odyssey Last 22 Years! | Sadly, time to say goodbye

- We’re finally saying goodbye to our 2000 model year Honda Odyssey. The second-generation Odyssey was manufactured from 1999-2004, and for the first three years there was a problem with the automatic transmission in many vehicles. So how did this minivan last us 22 years without a problem? There’s one mod that I credit with our success - and this mod is a MUST HAVE on all cars and trucks with an automatic transmission, if you want them to last forever, too.

I really wish I had the chance buy this van!!!!! 1 owner...no trans slip....and a rare blue for there gen with no paint flake...amazing
It would have been great to see her sold to a real person instead of trading it in. She is sorely missed. Thanks for saying!
I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey that I bought in 2003. Still have it with nearly 200,000 miles on it. Raised our two boys who learned to drive in it. They are in college now and I drive it to work. No major repair issues since we bought it. Normal maintenance and breaks.
Terry, that’s awesome! It’s amazing how much these vehicles become a part of the family. Thanks for sharing the story of yours! 😄
I got a 2001 with 230k. Still looks good and drives Great
2003 Ody with 204k !
Congrats Jimmy! Thanks for watching, and commenting!
My parents owns a 2002 honda odyssey ex silver only damage was front and driver side front. Ok her original transmission going 222,000 miles strong. Only maintenance is engine oil, tie rods, cv axle, engine mounts, spark plugs, and struts. Sadly all 4 of us rubbed the clear coat on the hood and fenders. Bumbers, rear crash bar, and side skirt needs replacing everything is ok. I am planning on finding a rebuild transmission just in case and dw-1. My dad got it in 02/2007 that van have memories. Sadly age is creeping up on her. Engine and transmission are working great. I learned how to drive and my older sister too. Honda engineered it well.
William, it sounds like your family Odyssey has a tremendous amount of sentimental value, and it has been well cared for for many years! Truly a part of the family… Thanks for sharing your story! 😁
@@MikeFyxdt my dad want to trade her in she let us down twice but we were safe with her. First was waterpump 2nd was alternator.
what was the mod? this video is obviously clickbait but I want to know if there even was a mod
Automatic transmission fluid cooler modification… The cooler was installed early on, when we bought our camper and started towing. I credit the addition of that cooler to why the engine ran so well for 22 years. Thanks for asking! 😁
@@MikeFyxdt thx :3
Bronco? Mach-E?
Hi Keith! Those are excellent guesses! In RUclips fashion I am sworn to secrecy until the big “reveal” video. I can’t wait to make the announcement!
I'm betting Mach-E 😀
I can’t imagine a family owning TWO Mustangs! 😉
