Regardless this kit was tooled nearly 30 years ago -which actually seems like yesterday to me, it still results in a great looking model of the A-3, and typically Tamiya is a low parts good fitting easy build. Nice result. I have Hasegawa's 1/48 A-3 as well, also a very nice model but with a higher parts count, more work. An easier build than Eduard's Weekender A-3 for a comparative of equivalent kit inclusions level, this should be on everyone's build list for anyone wanting an early Fw 190 who doesn't have one already.
I did the Eduard A-4, the PE parts are the dash and side panels etc and its just beautifully pre painted....... But I feel robbed in a way because I LOVE painting those cockpit details!!!!
An absolutely brilliant video here. Certainly a 'watch & learn' &......,I watched & learned. Nice job & thanks for sharing. A 'noob' has picked up some great tips.
You had me with "I always start a build with a cup of tea!" Time to put the kettle on and unbox my Fw190 and follow your guide. Many thanks for posting this, its a tremendous help and inspiration.
I use a lot of vallejo paint myself. I recently learned to mix up a bottle of 2/3rds vallejo thinner and 1/3rd of vallejo flow improver. I thin model air with that and it's dramatically cut the tip dry.
I've just been spraying some model air again on my 1/48 P47D Razorback. Mainly as I didn't have the right colour in MRP. Even thinned at about 70% thinner I still get tip drying! I gave up using flow improver as it just makes the paint go weird for me, usually only 1 or 2 drops per 10 drops of paint. Much better without for me.
Beautiful build. I believe if the shoulder seatbelts were placed in such a way in the real plane the canopy cannot be closed as it will be jammed by the armour plate. Still a super model.
Nice one. So many good helpful techniques. I have only just started modelling, as an activity to do with the kids. Videos like your have been a huge influence. We have completed the F4U-1A Corsair in 1/48. We use very little equipment and spray cans, with blue-tac to create soft edges. The weathering makes a huge improvement. We are all enjoying it so much, and possibly in a year will get an airbrush. We are working the Focke Wulf at the moment!

A little old & probably not the best engineered kits - but different :) I'd really like to see someone build the 1/48 Academy MH-53E Sea Dragon, but that kit is discontinued and hard to find. Go with whatever you enjoy bud!
Very nicelly done! I can´t bellieve you don´t break those wing guns and the pitot. I ´d broke them a 12 times at least! Congratulations in tour first video! Great!
I heard that mixture 1:3:3 - Retarder:Flow Improver:Airbrush thinner reduces tip dry greatly. Just shake well before use and add right amount to thin your vallejos paints.
I've not yet prevented tip flow with Vallejo and I've aggresively thinned them and used quite a bit of flow improver. I think it's just one of those things you have to get used to if you want to use water based acrylics.
Complimenti, bellissimo lavoro!! Potresti dirmi che tipo di colla istantanea hai usato alla fine per fissare il filo?? Grazie mille!! Congratulations, beautiful work!! Could you tell me what kind of instant glue you used to secure the wire in the end?? A thousand thanks!!
How would you say this one is for someone who wants to build wheels up? Is it an option, and if not do the pieces match up so I could modify? The Eduard one I got is just purely anti gear up.
I've actually moved away from using Pledge for the moment as I was having some inconsistent results. I'm now using AK Gauzy or Alclad Aqua Gloss. Both seem a bit more durable and dry quicker.
i want to get this set but i also want the swiss bf 109 which should i get? also i want to do a checkers pattern on the engine cowling but dont know how i can mask it btw the set you made is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! i wish when i start modeling i can paint like that!
I just finished a FW 190D liked the build but the decals were very brittle. My work station looks a lot like yours as i have the same matt and i use mostly Vallejo model air. I used the same belt set.
I meant to ask. Where did you get the Eduard decals? Were they 8./JG 2 insignia leftovers from a Profipack A-4 (82142) in the spares box as it would appear from the Profi kit manual at 18.08s, or did you source them as a decal set from Eduard (or another store)?
Great build on the Tamiya Fw-190, you just earned yourself an subscriber!!! How do you find using the Vallejo Model Air paints, are they simple to use? I have a few of their paint sets.
Thanks Nathan. Most Vallejo Model Air paints are great once you get used to the airbrush tip drying. Some need thinning more than others and the RAF Dark green is totally unusable but other than that, I like them a lot. No smell and easy to use.
Nice build. The Vallejo rlm76 is way off it's more like rlm65. Just my observation and its not very good to airbrush. I guess we all have our preferred brands. I'd like to see more painting. By that I mean not speed up to much. Great start I look forward to seeing more Luftwaffe bulls. 👍
Thanks, it could be how they look on camera to be honest or my lighting. It is a bit grainy to airbrush but I've found it covers well with a few coats. I wanted to keep the time down but maybe in future I could do a longer video. Thanks for the feedback. Dan

Great work! I really like how it turned out. The FW-190 is my favorite aircraft of WW2 so I really enjoyed the video

Thank you! I've got a couple more build videos coming soon!
Truly instructive. Thanks for sharing!

Sensational build
Thanks Dean, I've tried a lot more techniques lately so hopefully when I have time to do another build I can show that.

I just finished a Mitchell B25, and I thought I did fairly good work. Until I watched your video, that is. Your detail is stunning!
Thanks Dave, I'm sure your B25 looks great!
Practice will improve your skills
Just about to start painting one of these. Really helpful! 👌🏻👌🏻
Enjoy and thanks!
These Tamiya Fw190s may be old, but they're still great kits.

Lots of great detail. Great Job!

Great looking build. Just enough weathering, not overwhelming the finished FW. Keep up the builds !
Thanks very much! 👍

Very fine weathering ; nice video. Beautiful model. Congratulations from France.

I hope to do something very soon, not sure what though.

That was a very fine build. I enjoyed it all the way through. I have subscribed and liked. What is the music you used for the background?
I heard that mixture 1:3:3 - Retarder:Flow Improver:Airbrush thinner reduces tip dry greatly. Just shake well before use and add right amount to thin your vallejos paints.

I use just a drop or two of flow inprover, works a treat
Applying seat belts would be more easy if the seat is not fixed to the cockpit tub then its your preference ?
I'm not sure, I'll try some other ways in the future. Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. 👍
Really nice. I have built this kit. I used almost the same techniques as you had very similar out come. Good job.
Great to hear, thank you for watching!
Nice build. The only thing I would suggest is that if the canopy is open ,as in this case, then the rigging should be slack
Yes you are absolutely correct. This was my first attempt at rigging so I was very inexperienced with it.
@@spruetherapy Either way, its a good build. You are very talented. Not a huge issue to correct
@@darknark7325 Thank you, I need to think about those little details more as they make a big difference. Thanks for pointing it out. All the best! Dan

Nice
I've gotten very close to your level of skill, especially the part where you apply sticky tape to the paper towels.
That requires extra dedication! :D
Which pledge did you use as I'm struggling to find a decent polish and that looks great. Great build by the, wsy
I've actually moved away from using Pledge for the moment as I was having some inconsistent results. I'm now using AK Gauzy or Alclad Aqua Gloss. Both seem a bit more durable and dry quicker.
i want to get this set but i also want the swiss bf 109 which should i get?
also i want to do a checkers pattern on the engine cowling but dont know how i can mask it
btw the set you made is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! i wish when i start modeling i can paint like that!
Hmm, masking a chequered pattern does look tricky. I would probably just use decals!
its been 2 months and im making a north africa version now but thanks i guess
I just finished a FW 190D liked the build but the decals were very brittle. My work station looks a lot like yours as i have the same matt and i use mostly Vallejo model air. I used the same belt set.
Yes the mat is one of those all in one model sets isn't it? With tools etc. Good value and does the job! Cheers and all the best.
Love it! What a beauty :-)
Do you reccomend this kit to a begginer?
Yes I think it would be fairly easy to build for a beginner.
Hi, did you use gloss varnish before to put de decals?. Thanks in advance
Yes, I always do to help avoid silvering of the decal. Cheers!
Wow amazing video, good job as i see you have also just started with channel about making models like me, keep doing like this you are great modeller.
Thank you, I just subbed your channel too. Best of luck!
@@spruetherapy thx so mcuh mate good luck for you too!
Hi, just wondering, on the box, does it come with the "black cement" to glue the parts together? Thank you
It does not, sadly.

Yeah just some spares leftover from an Eduard kit I'd used as a mule. Good spot!

Yeah I'm in the UK. I think I got mine from Sainsbury's. But it was a while ago now.
I'm struggling to find the RLM 76 acrylic paint for the bottom. What did you use?
I used Vallejo RLM76 Light Blue 71.255.
I recently did the same model. It took me weeks to finish this model and only took you half an hour
Haha! I wish I could do it in half an hour! 😁
might try rigging.. will be a problem for me because of my big hands
