Tamil was an ancient language and kingdom, it became part of india only under the British rule. A Tamil princess married a Korean prince and lived in Korea and Tamil words became Korean. Thats the histort says.
@sabha01 Exactly! I kept on telling my friends Tamil and Korean are similar in some words, noone believed me. They even laughed at me. So I just woke up to this and finally I got something to share as proof.
@helsinki who's talking about theory? Try focus on the positive sides instead of trying to start a debate for nothing. It's about educating. Or perhaps you can share with the world about it since u said it's not a new theory. And im a woman, have some respect for an older lady.
I'm Korean. My forefather, Kim Suro, the first king of kingdom of Gaya married princess Heo Hwang-ok from India about 2000 years ago. If I go to Tamil, can I seek a Tamil bride? lol
Some similar tamil words and their meanings: Naal - Day Naan - me Nee - you Aariro - lullaby Pul - grass Paampu (bam) - snake Vaa - come Amma - mother Appa - Father Akkachi - elder sister (southern slang) Ammani - Calling a girl with respect (coimbatore slang) like ommoni in korean Aiyo - Aigu Sandai - Fight Yean - why Anni - sister in law Athae - that's it (or ) yes in tamil Thae or dhae is yes in korean I guess... Arivom - To know (similar to aaro in korean) Ingu - here (in korean igu means this ) Aay - child (in olden tamil Eg : Most of tamil goddesses have 'aay' in ending like Maariaayi (goddess of rain)) Pun - sore /wound Kattayam - must do Manam - Mind (mauem) Pal - teeth (ippal) In tamil we cry like "appa" when got a wound or feel a pain Konjam konjam - a little (like joguem joguem in korean) I do tamil versions of kpop and it's really amazing to find similarities between tamil and korean language...🤩💜✌
Ancient Tamil kingdoms had trade relations with Korea so maybe that's why some of the words are similar and it's also said that a Tamil princess called seembavalam was married to a Korean king but still there are debates going on whether she is from Tamil Nadu's ayutta( a part of pandya kingdom) or Ayodhya( in the North)
Ayodhya name didn't have name 'Ayodhya' from 100 bc to 1900s (Ayodhya modern day UP), didn't have navy might of southern kingdom. Cheras/ cholas/Pandyans kingdoms traded with koreans unlike northern empires
@@zet99darius87 It was called sekata before I guess and it was Pandyas who had trade relations with Korea and the princess could have been sent to strengthen the relationship between both kingdoms. Pandyas symbol is twin fishes . But most people relate the twin fishes found in the Korea to Ayodhya's twin fishes.

Actually, the Korean girl had a Korean touch in the words. And the tamil girl had a touch of English accent. Like the tamil girl almost messed the tamil word for tooth...she spelt it like பள் and not பல்...I bet she doesn't speak tamil that often... And the Korean girl literally forced that ல too much that it sounded like பழ்... So none of them pronounced it right. That literally ticked me off. And sorry if this hurted anyone! I didn't mean to. It is just my opinion...
That is great all languages have a strong connection if we see similarities Sanskrit has similarities with Latin, English, Old Persian(Avestan), Russian, Slavik, Armenian and others and Tamil is having similarities with Korean so Tamilians Dravids can't be called invaders from Korean aur Indo-Korean invaders as British gave theory of aryan invasion
Simardeep Singh Sodhi Not all languages are related. Persian, Russian, Armenian, Latin, and English are part of the same "indo-european" language family, but Korean and Tamil are not (not related to indo-european, and no evidence that they are genetically related to one another either).
@@rustinusti you are really an 'Aowwl' I didn't say Tamil and korean are related to all languages. I said as British scientists and congress party gave theory of aryan invasion by assuming that aryans are Indo-European by seeing similarities of Sanskrit and Latin, Indo- Persian by the similarities of Sanskrit and Persian, Indo-Russian by similarities of Sanskrit and Russian etc they themselves aren't sure similarly they can call Tamilians as Indo- Korean which they are not.
@Simardeep Singh Sodhi Umm not the same thing. Tamil and Korean have some similar words due to trade/ historical influences. However, Sanskrit is literally a branch of indo-Europeans language and due to indo-Europeans expansion into North India. That’s a fact. Whereas, Tamil is native to India. :)
Any Tamilians here learning Korean and having a blast because of the similarity? Can't relate but I am glad if you happy learning Korean with ease 💜 Edit : Did not expect so many likes and replies😂💜 Thank you everyone, for sharing your experience here! As a fellow South Indian, I am happy to see all of you learn Korean or try to learn it well thanks to the similarities between Tamil and Korean! I hope I can learn someday too!

In early beginning of Korean history, there was name called GaYa nation in South Korea area now and first king name was Su Ro Kim and his wife, Queen’s name was Hwang Ok Hhu. The queen was India Tamil area princess who married with GaYa’s first king Su Ro Kim so that it makes sense many vocabulary similarities in between Tamil and Korean language.
So, actually tamizhans were a very thick friends with Korea because sharing a language and most culture to a different country is very hard. LOVE FROM A TAMIL BOY KOREAN❤️

Being a Tamil I amazed with the similarity between these two languages.
Although I don't speak tamil because I come from the Northern part of India where Hindi is spoken widely but I knew few words from tamil language like Amma , Appa , Vanakam etc,. Which we read in an english magzine given in my school library in the year 2014. And when I started watching k-drama since 8 January 2019 I use to come across few words in Korean language(Hangeul) which sounded similar to the tamil words that I already knew. "Left handed wife" is my first k-drama which is one out of my all time favorite k-drama. And this is the drama where I heard about Amma and Appa. I knew there is something common between Tamil and Hangeul language. Thanks to this video that we could find alot of similar words in both of these languages.
I recently watched a Korean serial where I heard elderly father being called as "Appuchi". In the part of Tamilnadu where I come from we call our dad's "Appachi". This way of saying is very traditional. I was surprised to hear it.

Hello, I'm Korean. Something wrong about where the Queen came from. The Indian government should correct the place and inform to Korea. It's not AYODHYA. What the Queen said was that she came from Southen India next to the sea. I think Tamil Nadu. Ayodhya is in North. This is stupid.
Tamilnadu is in South in North there is no sea at all only the Mt Everest is there . In South there is indian ocean
It's my native tamilnadu
Yes
Iyam+othiya =ayothiya.Iyam means sea, othiya means near by in tamil.so,ayothiya means near by sea.that princess came from Thoothukudi, tamil nadu.she is Pandian king's daughter.korean people is tamil native only.so, only she married to korean prince.Iam from from Tamil Nadu.hai korean brothers and sisters.please watch tamil chinthanayalar peravai you tube channel for further clarification

Who would have thought these languages have so much in common. Probably this one has surprised me the most.
Although I don't speak tamil because I m from the Northern part of India where Hindi is spoken widely but I knew few words from tamil language like Amma , Appa , Vanakam etc,.
I WAS BORN IN BIHAR🙁 ,BUT AFTER THAT I LIVED IN TAMILNADU😊 FROM MY CHILDHOOD,I REALLY LOVE TAMILNADU❤️,I KNEW PERFECT TAMIL AT THAT TIME AND AFTER 6,7 YEARS IN TAMILNADU I SHIFTED TO KERALA, THEN I SHIFTED TO BIHAR AGAIN FOR 1 YEARS. NOW I LIVE IN MUMBAI, I know Tamil ,hindi, American accent, British accent, Indian english, and Korean (I'm learning it now 😀)AND I WILL BECOME AN ACTRESS ONE DAY.

My neighbor is a Korean. One he was playing with his infant child and uttering the words 'Amma' and 'Appa'. On hearing these words, my reaction was, "Do you know Tamil? Are you teaching Tamil to your child ?'. He turned back, "OMG! I never knew that Appa and Amma are exact words used in Tamil and Korea with the same meaning'.
I appreciate these two participants as well as the coordinator. It's an excellent one
