Wilhelm von Homburg, AKA Vigo the Carpathian was one of Gruber's men. I am curious to see if you have any notes on his accent.

Hallo!

Good stuff! I always wished there were subtitles on my favorite movie, Die Hard. I’ve seen it so many times I recognize all the German lines even though I didn’t know what they were saying. Such a unique language.

Just joined RUclips level 2. Your videos are so helpful. The English narrated Let's Plays are particularly helpful for learning new nouns - especially Spiro and Resident Evil.
Thanks again and looking forward to part 2 of his video.

Hi Dave! Thank you for the help with German pronunciation. I'm hoping to eventually visit Germany to hunt up some family history as well as catch a Rammstein concert. It's just nice to find a language that doesn't consider my left-handedness to be gauche (French) or sinister (Latin)!

"Die hard" is an English idiom, meaning "strongly or excessively determined or devoted" (according to Marriam-Webster) or "someone who is unwilling to change or give up their ideas or ways of behaving, even when there are good reasons to do so" (according to the Cambridge Dictionary). Of course it also connotes the literal meaning of "taking a long time to die". As a movie title, it's kind of a pun, with double meaning. I don't think it translates well in German, unless one can find a similar German idiom.

I wish more actors were given due credit for not only performing all sorts of characters under all sorts of circumstances, but also for the fact that unless a film production GIVES AN ACTOR TIME to learn (or be coached in) a different language, it's ludicrous to ask them for perfection in something that would normally have taken a person at least 6-12 years to master. :) I mean, just imagine Michelle Yeoh on "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". That must've been bananas attempting to learn Mandarin in lieu of Cantonese.

1:09 Nope, it’s not Jeffrey Dahmer, even tho with the glasses he kinda looks like. It’s Andreas Wisniewski, who also appeared in the James Bond movie “The Living Daylights” as Necros and also a small cameo in Mission Impossible. He also appeared in the Bananarama’s Venus music video as a dancer during the synth solo

Die Filmreihe hatte genug Fehler und in Teil 3 hieß der wieder Hans und die Glock kommt auch nicht aus Deutschland, wie man einem in Teil 2 erzählen wollte. Und Bruder, hat niemand zu dieser Zeit gesagt. Das ist amerikanisiert.
