I'd be fine with publishers just putting $1400 cash into the board game box, so that the purchase price could be $1400 higher.

These "deluxe" games have no immersion nowadays! I want my games to come with more ambiance!
By that I mean I want a whole room of game. Is it a Dungeon Crawler? You better be making my basement into a Dungeon!
Get out of here with your weak "theme"!!!

This is unironically the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in a board game box.
Now I finally understand why someone would pay 200$ for a boardgame.

If a board game doesn't have miniatures sculpted from genuine ivory (painted, of course), dice carved from assorted precious gems, 24k gold-foil stamped cards made from PVC (who even uses paper anymore?) and interlocking player boards that use rare-earth magnets...I simply won't buy it. Oh, and the insert must support all cards sleeved in hard-plastic, clam shell cases, be 100% biodegradable and all fit into exactly one Kallax cube. Seriously, board game publishers. Just what is your problem, anyway?
