there's reasons behind this i suggest you research a bit about it but yes nintendo took a huge dump on us with this last boss fight, basically the game was never really finished and actually was never supposed to be about Starfox in the first place that's why there is such disconnexion between the whole game and this fight
@@supermeuhmeuh i felt like the starfox bits of the game took away from the original concept, and i know Dinosaur Planet had funding issues and crap and i understand the reasons why they merged with the starfox series, but i wouldve been interested to see Dinosaur Planet in its fullest extent.
Man... This is probably the best version of Andross yet... At least in terms of physical appearance. I didn't care much for T1000 Andross in Star Fox Zero, but this one had a real scary element to his appearance and made him seem far more menacing than ever before. Plus that final battle theme is amazing.
I really liked this game, and I actually really loved the ending. It's great when a video game can pull off a huge plot twist like that. Same thing with Ganondorf emerging near the game's end in Twilight Princess and the ending based on what you did with the Little Sisters the first time I played Bioshock. If Rare hadn't been dissolved and this game was more respectfully regarded as part of the Starfox canon, I wonder if they would have considered bringing General Scales back in a sequel.
im still amazed with the facial polygons of andross, this was before advanced shaders like we have now and to have him look this good blew me away 1st time i saw it
Fun fact, the official statagy guide to this game makes No mention of this boss. You are on your own. So as a kid that never played Star Fox 64, I did not know to do barrel rolls to avoid the sucking attack for a few years. I eventually figured it out, but it still weird that this is the only thing not in the guide.
I actually really liked this final boss! Sure maybe it wasn't as epic as the one in Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars, but it was still pretty decent! I loved that Falco came back and helped you out!
It was pretty epic seeing Andross again, but two things 1. Did they ever explain how he survived after 64? 2. What the hells up with his voice? In 64 he had such a badass voice, now he sounds like an old man
well, think of the time span between 64 and now. if there were a good ( i don't really know.) 4-8 years or even less/more, there would be some development in the character. if they explained his survival............ i don't know.
if you play the game you will notice that he revive using the energy of the planet or some sourt and then he revive and try to kill fox (yes nintendo revive him because FUCK IT ITS A STAR FOX GAME)
It's amazing how the entire game is on foot and then the final boss is an actual flight fight. It's like a 3D Sonic game, except reversed in consistencies.
If you really think about it, this Andross battle is a combination of previous Andross battles. It starts with the head (shoot the eyes while stuff flies out of it's mouth), then fight the *real* head and disembodied hands.
Falco: Hey McCloud different time, different planet and you still need Falco's help... Fox: Oh yeah? who saved your ass in Corneria when your ship had technical difficulties and hell those other times? Arent u suppose to be the "Ace Pilot"? Falco....It s good to see you buddy. Fox: *Facepalm*
I swear, fighting Andross in ANY starfox game is an acid trip. Disembodies head and hands that explode. "Sucking" things in his mouth even though the fight is taking place in the VACUUM of space! In like every game, his BRAIN is a major weapon of his! WHY?!? Ah! I shouldn't question the great Starfox franchise!
and still some people prefers stupid jokes about an overrated and toxic Manga from old days whose anime aparently waited decades to be released (maybe cause the Manga itself is too bulshit)
I love the throwback to the classic SNES Starfox... when andross shoots the meteors out of his mouth... reminds me when the original andross shoots out squares out of his mouth... aww... nostalgia :)
Love how they didn't even give Andross a big "I'll be back" speech; they just put his face inside a wind tunnel and blew him the f*ck up. Ah, nostalgia.
ehh i disagree i think the assault voices were pretty bland/boring especially fox smh...at what they did to his character, lease here he's got attitude and a sense of humor that keeps ya interested.
TheTimon64 sense of humor? They tossed a wrench at the jukebox to disable it, that isn't satire. Also the characters they gave to the crew seems to be targeted at autistic twelve year old's. 1/10 character development.
Remember when the Soldier from Team Fortress 2 did the voice of Andross (as well as General Pepper, Wolf and Leon)? The voices in Star Fox 64 were so memorable.
Andross could have also taunted during the fight.... "I made you all dance for me on Dinosaur Planet from beyond the boundaries of death, like puppets! You (Fox), the lovely lady (Krystal), the dinosaurs and Scales! The services of mostly you, Fox, and the vixen girl have been a great boon to me...!" Fox: "So... YOU'RE the one behind all this?!" Andross: "Soon, any sides of planets facing Dinosaur Planet will be vaporized! Leaving me to rule what remains!" If only Krystal could help Fox through telepathy to pinpoint Andross's weak spot.
0:00 you're relaxed going to fight the mighty Krazoa God, a new and strong foe you were tricked by to revive him when suddenly 0:05 PLOT TWIST! you're going to fight Andross, the same crazy scientist you killed 8 years ago, who tricked you to revive him as a supernatural being
I really wish this game didn't force you to keep playing the final boss battle against Andross over and over again... Really would've loved to free roam after defeating him. Anyone else feel the same?
Man, Star Fox Assault was a huge improvement over Adventures. I think one of my favourite directions they took was making the characters sound like adults. Gives the game a more serious feel.
I hated Peppys new voice but loved Andross, Fox, And even slipped because slippy actually sounded like a nerdy male. I liked Fox's and Andross new voices because it had more ethusiasm more emotion than 64. Don't get me wrong I still like 64 voice crew. I just missed Robs and Peppys old voices.
No wonder Andross is weaker in this battle. He spent so much time making a jabbawokee on half of his head he forgot to put in a decent targeting system.
Errrr....ok, is it just me or fox sounds like a 15 year old kid? I mean, no offense, the last star fox I played was the one for n64, but he sounded more mature back then, could be my memory betraying me again..
Actually, that's because when he decided to leave Star Fox (in the manga Star Fox Farewell, Beloved Falco), he took off in his Arwing. In my opinion, he did a great job keeping his fighter in such a good condition for the past 4 years (Star Fox timeline).
Lorenzo Abs Chiot the reason way this game is not loved by die hard star fox fans because the gameplay is like the legend of Zelda Ocarina of time and Majora mask for me I thought it represents his fighting move in super smash bros
brings back the days when i use to watch my older brother play this for like 2 hours a day which was a limit. miss those days :D kids who reading this comment enjoy your life when your young
I had this game when I was 11, took me months to get through it and I never got past the Cloudrunner minigame on Dragon Rock. Now I've got it again, breezed through the game in 2 days, but now I can't beat Andross! This video makes it look so easy, but I can't shoot as fast as this guy for as long as he does, so I always get pwned by the asteroids.
I loved this game. Classic Rare brilliance at its finest. There's a reason it doesn't feel like a SF game, though. SFA was originally a completely different game, called Dinosaur Planet. Miyamoto noticed the similarities between DP's main character and Fox, so he asked Rare to make DP into a SF title. More than a third of DP's content was cut in the process of porting the game from the N64 to GC and reskinning the game to better fit Fox's universe. The Microsoft buyout only made matters worse.
I had to use my Turbo in my gamecube to beat him! By the way, how do you get your videos like this? How do you record it without geting the lines and crap? :D
@nuguns92 Andross was a bioweapons expert on Corneria, but his research was deemed too dangerous to continue. Andross was angry and continued without Cornerian approval, and that's how he was exiled. Although the manga and the game depict James McCloud's death in two different ways: either disappeared on Venom...or died due to a neutron bomb turning a star into a black hole.
@riseofz Long story. It was originally intended to be a completely different kind of adventure called Dinosaur Planet. When Miyamoto and the dudes at Nintendo saw the characters, they noted how similar they were to the Fox McCloud design. With the N64 at the end of its lifespan, Nintendo took control of the project and revamped it as a Starfox game for the Gamecube. So, it seems like such a different game, because it really is. Think of it as a separate game with Starfox skins.
Andross's taunts: "The Krazoa Spirits are inside, Fox! Your mission has already failed and Dinosaur Planet's going to die!" "Do you still think Dinosaur Planet's worth saving now?!" "The Lylat System's judgment is coming!" (Fox: And you're gonna judge us? You get all your ideas from movie and comic book villains?") "What I do with the Krazoa's power, I'm going to enjoy it very much! Have a nice day!"
What did they do with his voice? I like how, in 64, he sounds brooding and almost Darth Vader esque. Here, he just sounds like a big monster, which isn't nearly as interesting.
I played this game years ago (and still have it) and I was in total shock when it was revelead Andross was behind it the whole time
I hate how we where robbed for a final confrontation between general scale
there's reasons behind this i suggest you research a bit about it but yes nintendo took a huge dump on us with this last boss fight, basically the game was never really finished and actually was never supposed to be about Starfox in the first place that's why there is such disconnexion between the whole game and this fight

IKR. Kinda wish there was a fight with Scales
At the origin, there were supposed to have a fight against him. We know that because of unused voice lines for Peppy, Slippy, General Scale, Fox and…
Andross looks really SCARY in this game!!!
His backface is creepier than himself
Eh, nothing compared to the original
Eh...he sounds more Jamaican.
Scary than the the Star Fox 64?
They Downgraded Him
Random Falco appearance...
Yay >_>
I may be too late but uh, it actually ties in really well with the comic Farewell, Beloved Falco

I didn't care much for T1000 Andross in Star Fox Zero, but this one had a real scary element to his appearance and made him seem far more menacing than ever before. I nearly screamed the first time I saw Falco return to help Fox!!
That was unexpected!
I really liked this game, and I actually really loved the ending. It's great when a video game can pull off a huge plot twist like that. This is why I love Falco. Just when you think it's the end for you, he comes out of freaking knowhere and BAM!! Get Andross right in his blind spot.
That’s why he’s one of the most badass characters of the series!
im still amazed with the facial polygons of andross, this was before advanced shaders like we have now and to have him look this good blew me away 1st time i saw it

"Hey McCloud! Different time, different planet and I still need good lip synching.

The only reason of survival I can think of is that the cannon ending to 64 was Fox destroyed the decoy and not actually Andross.
I like this voice way better though, he sounds charasmatically evil. before he was sorta bland.
when he died his spirit still wandered the cosmos he used the krazoa spirits to ressurect himself
"And now, to destroy the Lylat System!"
I love this line! ^_^
It's amazing how the entire game is on foot and then the final boss is an actual flight fight.
It's like a 3D Sonic game, except reversed in consistencies.
he looks so easy! And cheesey!
If you really think about it, this Andross battle is a combination of previous Andross battles. It starts with the head (shoot the eyes while stuff flies out of it's mouth), then fight the *real* head and disembodied hands.
4:44 laughed my ass off at his mouth movement X’,D
Falco: He’s about to blow! Let’s get out of here!
Lol the ending: ''Great shot kid , that was one in a million!"
such an underrated game
Thanks, Falco!!! You're a REAL friend and a hero!!!!! 😁
This was such a suprise final boss battle once I saw the head floating into space I knew something was fishy then boom its all Andross plan!
I loved every minute of this game. even as a starfox game.
4:44 That andross face make me laugh hard! I could find that funny. 😆
I beat this game 10 times. this battle never gets old

This plot twist made me shit myself when I seen andross turned around.

Fox: HEY SHAZAM! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU COME FROM?!
Falco: I’ll explain everything later, Fox! Glad I’m just in time!
That moment when you see Andross... What an awesome plot twist!
and still some people prefers stupid jokes about an overrated and toxic Manga from old days whose anime aparently waited decades to be released (maybe cause the Manga itself is too bulshit)
I saw the back side of Andross, I didn't think he was that scary.
Then he flipped around, and I was like "What the @#$#!"
I remembered I couldn't defeat Andross because I didn't know how to escape his inhalement attack.
Nice battle!
Same tho like after the third or fourth time that i died that i started to realize that you have to spin around when open his mouth😂😂😂

What, Falco came back for the fight?! Aww hell, you KNOW shit's serious when the Starfox equivalent of Maverick from Top Gun shows up for a battle...
When they compared Falco to Han Solo… they weren’t wrong! They both came back to help their friends!
A lot of voices in Star Fox Adventures really annoyed me, like Slippy and Peppy. Thank God they got it right in Star Fox Assault.

¡Vaya! ¡qué jefe! no me hubiera imaginado lo fuerte que es Andross.
¡Saludos! Postdata: pero como siempre gana Fox.
talk about a out-of-nowhere boss. Twilight Princess had it too, but at least they explained it in the final leadup there.

Andross: I have learned two heads are better than one!!!
Fox: Meh not really
*Explosions*
Nintendo needs to come up with a new way to fight bosses instead of shooting the bosses hands...
Would you rather have giant eyeballs flying at you? Or him throwing up a bunch of metal plates at you?
4:44 Andross' Skyward Scream
Anyone else think this boss was wicked hard back in the day?
Now i remeber how fun this game was
best game ever!!

Its criminally underrated!

Andross in this game...When you defeat him.....He looks like he has bad constapation and his face is being blown off by a leaf blower.

What did they do with his voice? I like how, in 64, he sounds brooding and almost Darth Vader esque. Here, he just sounds like a big monster, which isn't nearly as interesting.
