Mobile gaming is completely replacing console gaming in Japan due to the Japanese culture of being overworked. Everyone in Japan is too goddamn busy all the time, waking up at five in the morning, riding trains for two hours working overtime, staying out with friends until 10:00 at night, etc. that nobody has the time for console gaming anymore. Thus, console game developers in Japan have given up on their domestic market and are instead targeting Western audiences. Nintendo decided to compromise by releasing the Switch, which can be a big-screen console-gaming platform for westerners, and a hardcore, high-quality, yet portable gaming device for the Japanese.

I guarantee you that he didn't play every game he mentioned in this video (or at least, play through them completely), but he still wanted to mention them for the sake of recognition. Also, it's not a big deal. I just like Gravity Rush and am always a bit sad with how little it gets.
Hell, I'm a huge fan of Gravity Rush and I forgot about it. It's sitting on my shelf wrapped, pushed to the side in favor of me giving a bunch of these "games ill drop after a short while" a try. Holy shit what a year.
you are the most articulated RUclips/critic iv come across. your monster Hunter review was sooo detailed. your a class above the rest. someone needs to hire you ASAP.
Your year end retrospectives are probably the best there are out there. I can go back to any of your year end videos and feel as if I've been transported back to that time.
Breath of the Wild was easily my favorite game of 2017. I'm tired of open-world sandbox games myself, but BotW was a lightning bolt reminder of what that genre used to be, hearkening back to a time where games didn't hold your hand (like with the original Zelda), all while fixing issues found in most other games like it over the last decade, and genuinely pushing the boundaries of the genre. It's not just a typical sandbox game, it's a whimsical fantasy adventure game, and those kinds of games appeal to me the most. Many reasons I like it so much are why I like Morrowind so much (my favorite PC game in existence). It's not perfect at all, but the fact that I've spent hundreds of hours playing it without getting burnt out in a time where I've become burnt out on sandbox games is, by itself, enough reason for me to hold it in high regard. Every future game in the genre will be held to the standards of BotW for me. NieR and Divinity are easy close seconds.
It's cool to hear you talk about this on the podcast and then hear the resulting essay that goes further in-depth with factual evidence for the mere speculation that was going on there. It's quite fulfilling, honestly. I really, really wanted to hear you talk more on this.
George your channel is amazing. You have a perspective on games and the game industry as a whole that very little people notice. You always have an eye for spotting hidden gems and explaining what makes them so amazing. Your Night In The Woods review got me interested into the game and I am thankful for the experience of playing that game all the time. I would have never found that game, or any game like that to be honest without you. So what I am trying to say is thank you for being such a great influence to me and all other gamers out there who have witnessed your opinions and talents over the years.

2017 was a year of big game releases and big game announcements. Nintendo got ARMS, Splatoon, Metroid, Zelda, and Mario. They announced Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Switch. Sony got Horizon, Crash, Uncharted, Persona, and Yakuza. They announced Monster Hunter World and Shadows of the Colossus remake. Microsoft announced an upgraded Xbox One. Not much else. Ubisoft dropped the surprise hit of Mario + Rabbids, and Beyond Good & Evil fans finally get to see something for their favorite game (in my opinion, they won E3). Bethesda celebrated itself with more Skyrim but they also released the new Wolfenstein which people like. SEGA simultaneously made one of the best games of the year and one of the worst games of the year. Somehow both in the same franchise. Blizzard brought a new hero to Overwatch, remastered Starcraft 1 and made Starcraft 2 free, then they announced WoW Classic. The indie scene brought us Yooka-Laylee, A Hat in Time, and Cuphead. EA f*ucked themselves in the arse. Everyone has something to be happy with. Except Star Wars fans.
I’d argue that StarWars fans even got something. Yes, the gameplay is Pay to win and the game expects you to grind for hours or pay lots of money but that doesn’t take away from its several upsides. The gameplay is generally pretty fun and smooth, we got a Campaign that the last game lacked, graphics and aesthetics are amazing and they are releasing more content that is free. This game is kinda like the Last Jedi now that I think about it in that it was an arguably fun experience that did lots of things right but had enough flaws (that could probably have been easily fixed) that it becomes very controversial to fans and critics alike.
Notice how you listed nothing for FPS fans but Wolfenstein. We got one FPS, a decent singleplayer FPS (Which is half cutscenes and story anyways, good story but just story). Nothing else. we got a big fat middle finger for 2017.
I didn't really talk about any genre but if you insist: FPS fans got Wolfenstein, Destiny 2, Call of Duty WW2, and Resident Evil VII. RPG fans got Kingdom Hearts, Nier Automata, and Persona 5. Adventure fans got Horizon Zero Dawn and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Platformer fans got Crash Bandicoot, Sonic Mania, Cuphead, Mario Odyssey, and Hat in Time. Those are all the genres I can think of right now. I still think we got off pretty well.
I love your videos. Seriously, you're something special. So well thought out and well articulated. You pretty much nailed how I feel about Japanese games, I couldn't have put in better words. Keep up the great work.
2017 had a giant selection of titles I enjoy. Zelda Mario and Xenoblade 2 are standouts for sure. Cuphead and A Hat in Time are excellent Indie titles, even older titles I'm having fun with. TF2 has been the best its been for a good while the new update for Shovel Knight is pretty much the best version of the game. The PC version of Bayonetta has been a blast. Best year for games in a long while. And I havent even tried any games like Nier.
This was a great year-in video as usual; thank you for making it! (though seriously, you should totally play Doki Doki Literature Club! That game blew my mind so hard)
why do people like this game so much? I played like a few hours and the lack of shovelknight bounce (just pressing down) and the kinda shitty way too fast jumps fucking kill this game for me. yet everyone says how "tight" it is. no, it's clunky
Pan Z In Shovel Knight the downward strike is tied to just the down button, whereas in Hollow Knight it's the down button + the attack button. I think that's what LE0NSKA is getting at, though I'd also agree in saying they haven't played the game enough. I personally prefer the precision allowed by Hollow Knight (as well as everything else about it).
Couple FYI points for George, said with zero malice and all love: 1. IIRC, the technical term for "sound effects as music" is "Music Concrete." Look up the old piece "CS Firedance" for my favorite example. 2. The idea of platformer levels set to music was originated (AFAIK) by the Rayman franchise. Not on the same level as Mario, but not exactly indie either. No shame in copying a good idea, though. 3. The plural of "crisis" is "crises." Pronounced "cry-seas" I do agree that video games aren't a lost cause like I thought they might be early last year. Also, thank you for reminding me to buy "Prey." I get the impression is that it's a neo-System-Shock; hope I'm right.
I don't know what message I'm sending but I did just finally buy it While playing FFXIV in the background And having FFX music running.... with my 5 copies of FFX near me... I think I've sent SE many messages
I always imagine that SE has a thick skull when it comes to voting with wallets. Good thing that everything they’ve done since Realm Reborn has been decent, because I’ve bought just about all of it.
You totally fucking nailed Nier and PS2 games. I often say how PS2 games are the ones I'm most nostalgic for and you really nailed why. Great video, dude. Let's both hope for more Japanese passion projects in 2018
It's one of those "HRRRNNNGGG, next paycheck..." kind of games for me. JRPGs aren't my thing, but I'm fully aware that P4 and now P5 are fairly special and need to be experienced. Same goes with Yakuza 0 and, on the other side of the spectrum, GTA V's main campaign. I used to hate GTA on the whole, but the fifth game upping the satire and designing fun, Michael Mann-esque high-stakes heists to engage in really draws me in.
Definitely. I caved in to GTA V two weeks ago as a Christmas present from Me to Me and I've been loving it. Now I'm tied between P5, Yakuza 0 and NiER: Automata. Decisions, decisions...
This is what i love from gamer that tries to be open minded and expand their comfort zone. There is a lot of awesome games and instead of complaining that games are in ruin which is not because of the true compassion developer they missed a lot of awesome sleeper hit.

Certain Western big-name publishers are on the Internet's shit list, now. They're probably too big to fall - I've never given much credence to the idea that we're headed for another industry-destroying crash - but they aren't too big to *fail*, and fail miserably. Methinks 2018 to 2020 will be a crucial period for EA's Andrew Wilson. He'll realize that FIFA's lightning in a bottle can't be replicated across the rest of the market, but he'll only realize it once something big, loud and as obnoxiously self-important as Battlefront II was will flop hard. Something like Anthem. The BioWare I knew and loved is dead, Visceral is dead and buried, Project Ragtag is defunct and the idiots hired someone as talented as Amy Hennig and will now have her stick to boilerplate Destiny-worthy NPC babble. I think Anthem's going to be the big one. As in, the final, big stinker that'll scare the pants off of the investors and shareholders.
Hey man. I dont know if you read comments anymore, but I just wanna let you know, every video you make is top fucking notch. I put your vids on in the background while I game and just let you whisper sweet gaming nothings in my ear. Keep doing what your doing man and ill be watching
Call of Duty WWII was the best selling PHYSICAL game. Not even close for the actual game purchases, but I guess the four people who buy physical games like call of duty.
So much of what you said is why 2017 has been one of my favorite years in gaming. Last gen was always so hit or miss for me in terms of enjoyable, consistent releases, but this year has been something else. I honestly can't come up with a game this year that I came away from with any sort of serious disappointment.
I like that you remembered Hollow Knight. Somehow everyone else forgot about it, hell, I think it was Polygon that had a top 50 of the year and it wasn't on it anywhere. Those idiots at rock paper shotgun didn't even list it on the top 15 metroidvanias.
In fact the only gaming media award it got was best platformer from PC gamer. Everyone else pretty much totally ignored it, I don't remember seeing it even listed on anyone else's awards as a runner up.
A completely worthless addendum, but - I think Hollow Knight DESPERATELY needs to come out on the Switch. I'd play it - and Dead Cells - for hours on end if it did. There's something to playing Metroidvanias on the PC that's always felt a bit odd to me.
The writer at RPS responsible for their list of top Metroidvanias came up with 15 he happened to like better than Hollow Knight, that's all. If I wrote it, Hollow Knight would be numbers 1 through 15, but I didn't write it. It's not an objective fact that Hollow Knight belongs on any list, and not every article has to reinforce your (or indeed my) personal opinions.
I was so stoked before you announced the game of the year. I was hoping, anticipating with nigh bated breath that the exact game that won would be the one to win. It's earned it. It's my personal favorite game of the year, entirely because it presses all of the right buttons for me more than the other great games this year. It's not the "best" game of the year- it had too stiff of competition on too many fronts for that. But to me, it is the best game of the year. And I'm just glad someone got the same feelings and emotions from it that I did.
I can tell from your spelling of 'cheques' that you are not using American Simplified English. Which is cool, because check and cheque are different things so they should be different words.
Nier: Automata is the video game equivalent of a film co-directed by John Carpenter and David Lynch, or a book co-written by Stephen King and Thomas Pynchon. Its existence is a little slice of the sublime slipped beneath the veil of reality. Like a big-budget Undertale, I'm not going to run around crying its praises every chance I get, but it fundamentally changed the way Average Joe Gamer (read: slightly nerdy high schooler) looks at video games. It's a very important game.
I think this year as well will be a big year for Japan. You've got FighterZ, Monster Hunter: World, Dissidia, the Shadow of the Colossus re-release, Dynasty Warriors 9 (it's going open world), Bayonetta 1 and 2 on the Switch, Secret of Mana... This is all in January and February alone.
To be fair, that was only like a handful of devs that said that the Japanese gamming industry was dying. One of those was Keiji Inafune, who created Mighty No. 9, So I personally don't trust what he has to say on the matter.
I'd argue that they weren't doing as well in comparison to previous and later years. To say that they were out right bad is misleading. For example in that time period of 2010-12, Japan were still releasing quality titles and sales weren't the absolute worst. Sure there was a greater focus on western games, (But to be fair, as westerners we are going to be exposed to western games on average.). And as far as Inafune is concerned, to assume the industry was going to die is ill-informed.
Well at the time her was pretty much right. The only companies making good games were Platinum and Nintendo. Japanese games only just got good again last year.
"The only companies making good games were Platinum and Nintendo." That you know about. A lot of companies also invested in making games for niche devices like the DS and PSP. For example, Square mainly released their huge games like Birth By Sleep and Dissidia on the PSP. Also a lot of good games in that era were Japan exclusive. The notion of Japanese games only just got good last year is incredibly misleading. Fromsoftware released Souls games which both people from the east and west love, Sega despite releasing terrible Sonic games still made the Yakuza games, despite the unsuccessful sales of the Wii U Nintendo still made great games, Atlus still made great games, Square made great games, Platinum still made great games, Capcom had some hit and misses, lesser known companies like falcom still made well-liked games and despite Konami selling their souls, MGSV was still a quality game. It might appeared that they were going under, but if you do some digging, the notion is incredibly misleading. You could argue that western games just got more popular.
Zelda's music is magical. Can't wait to play the h*ck out of it. Your GOTY videos are my favorite amongst all of them though, so great job! Every year I wait for yours specifically, and I was scared this year it wasn't coming.
I bet Keiji Inafune is kicking himself right now because he ironically made the worst Japanese game of 2016. Maybe he's sitting with Tomonobu Itagaki in a maid cafe, asking why his game of all games is the worst while mainsteam titles like Final Fantasy XV and Metal Gear Solid V don't suck.
Stephen Mc Devitt even more so, for Inafune, when you consider his boast about being the saviour of Japanese gaming and then seeing Capcom resurrecting Mega Man as well no doubt rubs that little bit extra salt into the wound wound. TV shows! All kinds of crazy merch! Truly it was a textbook case of putting the cart before the horse and now I liken him to Arius, from DMC2, as cries about "my dream... my life... I was going to be the king of this world!" before Dante crowns him with Ebony and Ivory. Though you could easily put Beck as Darius and Dante as Mega Man, swap out the pistols for the Mega Buster and I think you've got a winner of a meme
Stephen Mc Devitt I also put the blame for DmC being a thing at Inafune's door because it was no doubt him green lighting all those piss poor western developed games during the PS3, like Dark Void and Bionic Commando. And despite the claim that the next Devil May Cry was going to be tailor made to what fans wanted somehow I doubt that was what most wanted, a Heavenly Sword but with a jump button. Based on my time with the demo it's decent enough on its own but as a Devil May Cry game, despite having the name in the title twice, it's leaves alot to be desired. Though it did give me a good laugh when a lock-on button, something that's been a part of the games from the beginning, is being pitched as selling point for the definitive edition. I don't understand why it wasn't there to begin with, especially when you consider there was 2 dodge buttons that do the same thing.
For me the biggest surprise last year was Horizon Zero Dawn. It got a lot of hate for not innovating enough. But similar to something like The Witcher 3 or The Last Of Us it took well established mechanics and perfected them. In my opinion it's the all around most polished and well rounded RPG since The Witcher 3 (sorry Zelda-Fans; BotW is great, but I l'm so tired of that same old bland save the princess plot).
2017 felt like one of those years that was hell to live through but was actually pretty solid in hindsight. With Dragonball FighterZ and Monster Hunter World kicking this year off I can only hope 2018 can build off of where the previous year left off.
Superbunnyhop videos are always real meaty, they have a beefy flavour to them and a satisfying broth

If a not perfect game is getting us as excited about what many call perfect games, then I think that game deserves some recognition.
It's a product of love and time... something the yank's publishers could use a few refreshers on...
Lawrence Salcido If you haven't received this feeling from any other games, try the Metal Gear Solid trilogy, or the anime Evangelion.

Too late, the guy who made AM2R is now the level-designer for the sequel of Ori and the Blind Forest.
Nier Automata is amazing but SE treated it like second rate game. To this day there is still no patches or updates to fix some bugs for consoles & PC. Meanwhile they are still milking FFXV with some dodgy policies. This is why I am so glad that Platinum Games go independent for their future projects (well aside from Bayonetta 3 of course).
Yeah... I'm still pretty annoyed by that.
But SE has never been one to make patches, be it console or PC, with their online games and FFXV being exceptions.
They patched KH PS4 collection several times, although their patch notes were VERY vague.
They've been independent since their inception, unless you mean IP-wise.
I think they mean that they're trying to publish themselves now, rather than rely on larger publishers
Yeah, but Nier Automata already paid itself many times, while FFXV may still need the milking in order to compensate for it's long development hell, I hope Square learned from this and their future titles are more like Taro's and less like Nomura's vanity projects.

It's sitting on my shelf wrapped, pushed to the side in favor of me giving a bunch of these "games ill drop after a short while" a try.
Holy shit what a year.
11:10 Don't worry George, I'm sure players were able to get "turned on" by other means in Nier.
Yeah. 9S is a delicious shota.
I haven't self destroyed myself with 2B yet, so I don't know what you're talking about xD
you are the most articulated RUclips/critic iv come across. your monster Hunter review was sooo detailed. your a class above the rest. someone needs to hire you ASAP.
IF YA LIKE JAPAN SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU JUST MARRY IT!!
AWildSilas because the tentacle loli school girl scares me...actually, now that i say it out loud it sounds kind of ho...NO NO IT ISN'T. I'm confused
Yeah, serious
If Japan is so great then why the hell isn't there a Japan 2?
This is easily my favourite channel related to gaming by far.
11:56 Would you say it's.... NieR and DieR to your heart?
Your year end retrospectives are probably the best there are out there. I can go back to any of your year end videos and feel as if I've been transported back to that time.
Wow....Phil Fish that's a name I haven't heard in a while
Redem10 yeah, well, you cant exactly say hes all that relevant in the industry anymore.
elliot lemon I can’t say he was relevant to anyone besides the haters.
I can't nod fast enough to keep up with all of these things you're saying! 2017 might be my favorite year for video games of all time. Great video.
Another brilliant video. Goes so far beyond the generic end of year lists that are pumped out this time of year.
Nier automata! YES!! GOTY!!!!!!
Tyler Allen Yeah, yes actually
it has some design problems but is a brilliant game
It's always a good time when you release a video. Fantastic one, BTW.
Don't even remind me of The Last Jedi...
Spider-Man fans will finally get a AAA game
Notice how you listed nothing for FPS fans but Wolfenstein. We got one FPS, a decent singleplayer FPS (Which is half cutscenes and story anyways, good story but just story). Nothing else. we got a big fat middle finger for 2017.
I didn't really talk about any genre but if you insist:
FPS fans got Wolfenstein, Destiny 2, Call of Duty WW2, and Resident Evil VII.
I'm happy subs are growing. Best channel on RUclips. Everyone needs a little George in their lives
No Super Mario Bros. 2 as GOTY?
Sorry wrong channel...
Uno Roeslan MASTAPIECE!!!
This channel actually has substance behind its comedy.
killbutt 3 not being on the list is worse
I thought his Mario & Sonic reviews were pretty good.
I love your videos. Seriously, you're something special. So well thought out and well articulated. You pretty much nailed how I feel about Japanese games, I couldn't have put in better words. Keep up the great work.
2017 had no goty for me because 2017 was the year full with best games.
Another exquisite vid, so happy to be a subscriber and Patreon. Cheers to another year bro!
A very fascinating analysis of the year! :) I learned a lot.
Nier is the best thing that happen this year.
Kefka Palazzo Last year.
A close second to BOTW imo! :)
BOTW is the second, and it's not close
Many games are tied for the best thing, let's not kid ourselves.
2017 was so powerful, i wonder how much longer it will echo in 2018.
Dat ARMS music!
This was a great year-in video as usual; thank you for making it!
(though seriously, you should totally play Doki Doki Literature Club! That game blew my mind so hard)
George will later miss the sentiment in this video as society has become more and more fucked.
thank you for making a video that makes me feel good again
hollow knight is still goty
I'm pretty sure it'll be GOTY this year, too.
why do people like this game so much? I played like a few hours and the lack of shovelknight bounce (just pressing down) and the kinda shitty way too fast jumps fucking kill this game for me.
yet everyone says how "tight" it is. no, it's clunky
LE0NSKA Don't think you played the game enough. You do have a downward bounce attack off enemies.
Pan Z In Shovel Knight the downward strike is tied to just the down button, whereas in Hollow Knight it's the down button + the attack button. I think that's what LE0NSKA is getting at, though I'd also agree in saying they haven't played the game enough. I personally prefer the precision allowed by Hollow Knight (as well as everything else about it).
did not say that you don't have one. but it's cumbersome to use, espeically since shovel knight has figured it out.
Couple FYI points for George, said with zero malice and all love:
3. The plural of "crisis" is "crises." Pronounced "cry-seas"
I do agree that video games aren't a lost cause like I thought they might be early last year. Also, thank you for reminding me to buy "Prey." I get the impression is that it's a neo-System-Shock; hope I'm right.
Seriously, please buy NieR:Automata. Not only is it a fantastic experience, but you'll be sending Square Enix a message.
I don't know what message I'm sending but I did just finally buy it
While playing FFXIV in the background
And having FFX music running.... with my 5 copies of FFX near me...
I think I've sent SE many messages
that you accept shitty pc ports?
I always imagine that SE has a thick skull when it comes to voting with wallets. Good thing that everything they’ve done since Realm Reborn has been decent, because I’ve bought just about all of it.
I've been waiting for a sale of around 60% since last year, never came.
The PC port is a shame, but the quality of the game itself goes above and beyond any of its issues
This video's awesome dude! I really agree with you about the nostalgia Nier makes you feel if you grew up in that era of games. Keep up the good work.
0:50 There it is!
Thanks, I needed that. I hope he never stops putting that in his videos. I will be sad the day he does.
You totally fucking nailed Nier and PS2 games. I often say how PS2 games are the ones I'm most nostalgic for and you really nailed why. Great video, dude. Let's both hope for more Japanese passion projects in 2018
Biggest question is why do you still use cheques?
10/10
Because he likes to make people wait in the shopping line when he buys groceries
Because 'murica probably
Who pays their rent with checks?
Yeah the extra $3 compared to what it would cost to order checks is really crippling my budget, my guy
I am glad to see you using Giant Bomb as a metric. It's really a testament to what they do over there.
Persona 5 is my goty. It has flaws but damn it brings me back when i loves big budget JRPG
Humam242 i despise jrpgs and it was tied for my goty along with horizon zero dawn
Daniel sauve gta has always been hugely satirical. Definately Play gta 5 though its a fantastic game
Fun fact: The guy who made that Metroid 2 fan remake got hired by Moon Studios, the guys behind Ori.
One shall fall and one shall rise.
Question is.... if Japan is the one on the rise, who will fall?
Please be EA
Canada.
With any luck, It'll be EA or Ubisoft.
Agent clyde only in the us. Pubg sold like 30 million
How the hell does NPD not count PC digital sales in 20-fucking-17?
So much of what you said is why 2017 has been one of my favorite years in gaming. Last gen was always so hit or miss for me in terms of enjoyable, consistent releases, but this year has been something else. I honestly can't come up with a game this year that I came away from with any sort of serious disappointment.
Every video that praises Nier is a good video
It still warms my heart that you use EarthBound fanfares for your "The Super Bunnyhop Super Legit Game of the Year 'Award'".
I like that you remembered Hollow Knight. Somehow everyone else forgot about it, hell, I think it was Polygon that had a top 50 of the year and it wasn't on it anywhere. Those idiots at rock paper shotgun didn't even list it on the top 15 metroidvanias.
seriously? One of the best metroidvanias of all time was ignored on a list of metroidvanias this year?
Polygon is too busy sucking up big company. Thats why
Awesome video & content :) keep up the stellar work as always!.
Just move to Japan already, George.
What I got from this video: George likes A Link Between Worlds, so now I love him even more than I already did
If only their gdp rose...
Salokin It's almost like having a population that's working itself literally to death isn't a sustainable economic model.
Game
Development
Power
While our GDP isn't soaring, it is rising.
Japan is sitting quite comfortably at No. 3, behind only China & USA.
And both countries above Japan in GDP have their own issues. Doesn't mean Japan isn't in trouble, however.
I'd expect nothing less of an answer from a user with the name "deus vult."
Who still uses cheques?
TheUnnamedGent
A Dad Among Sons, That's who...
I can tell from your spelling of 'cheques' that you are not using American Simplified English.
Which is cool, because check and cheque are different things so they should be different words.
**Awkwardly raises hand**
George
Should I raise my hand 'cause I do... I'm old schooled.
When talking about music syncing to gameplay, crypt of the necrodancer comes to my mind, yeah it's the opposite but that music is just real good.
What was that game that looked like Deus Ex at about 6:51?
Dokurobotto "Never Stop Sneakin' " for the Switch
I think it looks a lot like a Metal Gear Solid 1 cutscene.
spyMic158 It is a spoof of MGS.
2017 truly was a year to remember, words cannot describe how happy I am that Japan is finally back in the gaming industry.
Stupid analogy.
Everything's gonna be alright.
Weeb trash version of waiting for godot is the best definition of nier automata I've ever seen
I am not sure if "Weeb trash version of waiting for godo" being goty is a good thing or not :D
it's godot
Stupid definition. Sod off.
Stupid definition.
This is all in January and February alone.
has a top game video
gave it to nier
ah yes
this is why I subbed to you
That earthbound 10:40 music UHHH my heart!! It's amazing
To be fair, that was only like a handful of devs that said that the Japanese gamming industry was dying. One of those was Keiji Inafune, who created Mighty No. 9, So I personally don't trust what he has to say on the matter.
At the time these comments were made, Japan sure as shit wasn't doing well.
"The only companies making good games were Platinum and Nintendo."
That you know about.
Man I haven’t really played any video games in over two years but this video really makes me want to catch up
Zelda's music is magical. Can't wait to play the h*ck out of it. Your GOTY videos are my favorite amongst all of them though, so great job! Every year I wait for yours specifically, and I was scared this year it wasn't coming.
I didn't get into Arms like I wanted to but DAMN is that menu theme catchy as all hell.
XV isn't really that good, and this comes from a bundle owner and season pass owner. 7/10 and that's being generous.
Whenever the HD collection comes to PS4, I'm gonna have fun with cutscene.
I don't understand why it wasn't there to begin with, especially when you consider there was 2 dodge buttons that do the same thing.
in retrospect, in all the ways that matter to me, mgs v did suck
Hopefully Taro and Platinum team up again in the future and put all that unused Scalebound work to use in a new Drakenguard.
I was looking forward to this video!
sooooo have you played hollow knight yet?
Nice profile pic my dude 👌
thx homeslice
11:59 “It’s nostalgia hat hits near”
I see what you did there
"Its a weeb trash version of waiting for Godot". I love you Bunnyhop
Stupid analogy.
Missed your vids man!!! Let's get more!!
Dude, pick a pronunciation of "automata" and stick with it.
It wouldn't be a George video if he didn't randomly butcher English in several ways.
I prefer "Autotomato"
Autopotato is my preference, but the Georgeman seems to like Autotomato
dude shut up
Autoerotictomatoation
2017 felt like one of those years that was hell to live through but was actually pretty solid in hindsight. With Dragonball FighterZ and Monster Hunter World kicking this year off I can only hope 2018 can build off of where the previous year left off.
You like NieR Automata for almost the exact same reasons you like Snake Eater so much
Oh my George... You really must play Prey, because I really want to get your take on it. It's beautiful, please experience it.
Just play Prey, for the love of god.
I know right? Everybody ignored Prey this year and is definitely one of the bests of the year.
I can just imagine George keeping the noodles clip on his desktop so that way he always has it on hand.
