I found my peoples!! Lol I'm here to make sure I read my stitch fiddle pattern right for a "Baphomet is my spirit animal" crochet sweater! Thank you! Not only is the information great, but your design choices are also amazing! Thank you so so much! I need to watch this a few times to absorb it, but this is literally ALL the information I was looking for. You're a great teacher and very talented. Best Wishes!🥰🙏
@@Totally_Stitchcraft I have learned to change colors for blankets and bobble stitch’s but I’ve never done the float method like that. And the app to make my own words opens up a whole world of possibilities lol
I’ve been wanting to create something using some sort of application but didn’t even know where to start, so thank you so much for introducing this to those who don’t know about it! Can’t wait to create cool designs and use this awesome method of not weaving in ends as well!!! Also quick question, I probably already know the answer but I wanted to clarify, so the front of the work is when you work that single crochet from the foundation chain right? And then the first flip in the work for the second row is when you’re working on the back/wrong side of the piece?
Thank you for teaching me this!! Wasn’t confused at all - so perfectly explained! Now hopefully people will get some pretty cool Christmas sweaters as gifts this year 😂🫶🏼 -all love-keep doin what your doin it’s amazing
Ooo I'm always in for a funky Christmas themed sweater! (now I have 10 million ideas running through my head LOL). Glad you enjoyed the video and I'm glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I have never done any colorwork crochet (except simple stripes), but this tutorial really makes me wanna try it. Well explained and makes the technique look easy. I really like that you mix intarsia and color stranded crochet depending on what works best in the given situation. Thanks ☺️ I can't wait for the pattern to come out 🤩
this makes so much sense ive been struggling with carrying the colors and watched a few tutorials but it always turned out really weirdly,, tried this and it works so well!
I also recommend a program called stitch fiddle! It’s completely free and it gives you loads of options, from Tunisian to filet crochet! Or just regular crochet with colours. I’ve never seen this one before but it looks good!
Thank you for making this video! I've been a bit scared to start a project like this as I didn't really understand how to carry the yarn, this explains perfectly! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial ! I’ve wanted to make a sweater with a design but didn’t know how to switch between all the different yarns, this was perfect 💗
Hi, thank you so much for the amazing tutorial. It was super helpful . It might be just me, but I think you made a mistake at 24:46? Instead of finishing the white stitch with black, you finished it as normal creating an additional stitch or chain 1.
Quick question for anyone who knows more about intarsia crochet, does this feels weird when put it on? like you can get hooked with the flooting yarn by any chance? it's annoying on the skin? 'cause I do wanna make some things with pannels and mutiple colors but these quetions are melting my brain! Thank you in advance
Are you using thinner yarn then the yarn she’s using? If you did the exact amount of rows she did but yours is smaller, maybe she’s using thicker yarn than yours which makes her project larger. If not then I’m not sure 🤔 hopefully you figured it out :)
I typically thread it back and forth on the back of the work a few times. I've never had an issue with string coming undone with my work before if I make sure to weave back and forth :)
When using floss cross you can decide the size of your graph at the very beginning, just choose when given the option. Or you can use my graph and a thinner yarn (like a sock weight yarn)
I do a lot of crochet, but would always carry my colour changes through all the working stitches to keep the back tidy and concealed- would someone be able to explain why this technique leaves the back like that and what benefit it would carry by not concealing all your yarn on the back side?
carrying too many strands of yarn through your stitches could add extra bulk to your color work, this method of carrying the yarn gets rid of any extra bulk and allows the design to lay as flat as possible. hope this helps!
I can finally draft a cow sweater. This was super helpful, thank you so much!!
You’re so welcome!! Also LOVE cows!

This is one of the best explanations I’ve seen for this method. Very well done!! Thank you!
Wow, thank you! I'm glad I can help you understand this topic, it is quite complex and took me many many many tries

Thanks for sharing!! I like stitch fiddle too but prefer floss cross since I can upload and image and then edit it as needed :)
Thank you thank you thank you for this tutorial 💚 48 yrs crocheting & still learning lol
You are so welcome! I am sure you are a wealth of knowledge yourself
YOU ARE AMAZING FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO, I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED HOW PEOPLE DID THIS ❤

Thank you so much for showing in detail how to float yarn. I’ve been struggling to understand how best to do this. Thank you.
You are so welcome! I'm glad the whole process was understandable and now you are unstoppable with crochet floats!

Amazing thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏾

You’re work is so beautiful! What kind of material are you using? it looks so neat!
I also forgot the main part of my question lol sorry! could you make a plushy of Eddie Munson?
OOO Eddie plushie! Yes I think I can do that. Also I'm using merino wool yarn :)
@@Totally_Stitchcraft Thank you so much!
I can’t make my scale 80 x 80. If I put in 80 for one value the other changes automatically. Do you know how to stop this from occurring?
Hm that's an odd problem, are you using stitch fiddle or floss cross?
@@Totally_Stitchcraft I was using floss cross
How did you get your graph all on the same page instead of printing on two separate pages?
I did 80 rows like you said and my short but has 80 why is yours so long what am doing wrong when I'm litterly following you can anybody help please
Hey I see your comment and I got your email, I have responded there and hopefully we can find out what’s going on with your work :)
Are you using thinner yarn then the yarn she’s using? If you did the exact amount of rows she did but yours is smaller, maybe she’s using thicker yarn than yours which makes her project larger. If not then I’m not sure 🤔 hopefully you figured it out :)
How do you fasten off a color once you're done with it? Like the black for the writing for example? Thanks!!
I typically thread it back and forth on the back of the work a few times. I've never had an issue with string coming undone with my work before if I make sure to weave back and forth :)
How can i make the graph smaller? Your graph is 80 stitches but it will be so big on me can u help?
When using floss cross you can decide the size of your graph at the very beginning, just choose when given the option. Or you can use my graph and a thinner yarn (like a sock weight yarn)

Could one potential make this using graph paper?
Like could i sketch it myself?
Oh yeah!! that's a great way to make graphs for crochet!
How did you determine the size to be 80*80? 🥺
how do you decide the stich count when making your graph?
I guessed, but you can make a sample of single crochet then determine the stitches per inch, then take your desired inches and find your stitch count
@@Totally_Stitchcraft thank you!!
Hi can you please sent me a pattern for a horse
Awesome!!!!! Thank you
You are so welcome! :D
