    This tire is on my short list of replacements for the Stock Pirelli's on my T7 (Hate 'Em. Don't get me started) Got to ride a buddy's T7 with a fresh set of the E07+ (Dakar) and loved them. We did a 140 mile loop (74 miles dirt/66 miles pavement) around Steamboat/Rabbit Ears today, and they are most certainly one of the very best 50/50 tires I've ever experienced.

    you should measure at the tread marker and why or why not use mm? I've replaced my Heidenau K60 with the MITAS E07+ and I love the difference. both perform really well in terms of durability and traction on and off road, both have hard carcasses (sides) (helpful if you have a puncture, not RFT grade but close). The MITAS is better in the wet (hard surface). Both are poor in mud (they are a 50/50 and not a 10/90 tyre). The BEST advantage is in terms of noise. perhaps it is a frequency (hz) for my ear but I find the MITAS to have a low rumble on the tarmac that is nearly pleasant while the Heidenau would actually scare me while cornering they are so noisy in the higher frequency range.

    got a Yamaha Super Tenere with the E-07+ used back in January. I have roughly 10K miles on the bike since January and I am just now replacing the back wheel with another E-07+ because the front tire looks almost new still. Can't see replacing both tires. However I am very impressed with these tiers. I ride mostly street and my throttle habit whiskey wrist, these tires are rock solid and I may have to stick with them as long as I can find them. My only concern is that they are hard to find. I had to go to ebay and pay a premium which I hated doing

The front is good to and isn't wearing the lugs on weird angles. I'm probably getting big distances out of them due to the KLR's power or should I say lack of it.

    For those who don't think in hundreds of thousands of something most of the world hasn't used for fifty years, Eo7 on a drz400e lasts 10,000 kilometers with a 100 kilo bloke who doesn't ring the guts out of the bike.

    • @billbonu1639
      @billbonu1639 Год назад

      What is 100 kilos? let's see 1 kilo is 2.2 lbs so now we're using decimals rather than whole numbers and 100 x 2.2 = 220 lbs? good lord wouldn't it be easier to just say you weigh 220 lbs than to get into fractions and decimals to arrive at the same number? and kilometers.1000 meters? how long is a meter,3.something feet? so here we go with the decimals and all again.so a kilometer is like 3700 feet and there's 5280 feet so 1000 kilometers is around 370000 feet? divided by 5280.... wouldn't it be easier just to say 800 miles or whatever and use whole numbers rather than get into all the decimals and math involved in converting kilometers into miles which is what everyone, including most speedometers do in the end anyway? decimals, fractions and the metric system will never be as easy to use as whole numbers.Im sorry.thats just how it is.

You won't find a speedo or a roadmap or bathroom scales in this country that uses the imperial system. Bare in mind also that American gallons are different from the rest of the world. I really would like a comparison between these tires and the Dunlop's Trail Max. I have see reviews in which people say they are some of the best on and off road. But they are very heavy tires, which such for smaller engine bikes as it robs the bike of some power and increases chain wear. I think that in test of reversal tires, it was the heaviest of all the models tested.

    • @CyrilHelnwein
      @CyrilHelnwein 3 года назад

      I’ve been looking at the trialmax missions too, but decided not go with them as they have poor wet road performance. I also like the larger gaps of the EO7+ which means better clearing of mud when off-roading.

      @@Chris.Mechanic I can happily say the Mitas EO7+ perfomed well enough on wet tarmac, but nothing extraordinary. After 2400km my rear had to be changed, but I rode most of that hard on sharp rocky ground with a 500lbs bike and plenty of rear spinning. Good tyre for off-road and soft enough for tarmac in the wet, but therefore won’t last very long. The Dakar version is harder compound but therefore less grip on wet roads.

    Great to see another positive review on the Mitas, I had a set of TKC80's on my DRZ400sm, They rock off road, but the rear wore so quickly and of course they are pretty rough on road( they work great just wear quick). I really like this tire and when the Front TKC needs replacing I definitely will replace it with the Mitas tire.

    I ran a set of E07 Dakar front & rear on my F800GS & got 20K MILES out of the set. I loved them so much I bought another set to replace the first set. However, Mitas replaced the original E07 rear with the E07+, so I had no option to use the same rear that lasted 20K miles. I've now got 7K miles on the rear & it's almost done. Disappointing... But maybe I was spoiled on my first set. Did they change the compound on the "plus" to a softer rubber?

    • @peterrick3339
      @peterrick3339 4 года назад

      You will never know but once again a manufacturer changes a format that worked well and got a following. An it seems that the good aspect that made people buy again has gone. Duh!
      I am/was interested in the E-07 for a 1250GS but i have to use an E-07+ which has turned into more an 'off road' tyre now with the change in tread pattern and not the road tyre i saw in the E-07.
      But i would like the see the land/sea ration of the E-07 & E-07+ in same sizes as it may be similar. E-07+ bigger blocks but wider grooves so may balance out.
      May just use Motoz Tractionator GPS again as this is a reasonable road tyre & an OK unsealed road tyre. The solid centreline spoils traction off-road too much imo. Need to take to it with a grooving iron.

    Hi there... I installed Mitas E0-7 plus tires on my 2018 GSA, hoping to have a good grip on occasional off-roads, and longer life on asphalt, where it spends 80% of all the riding time, and here is what I found - for those who want to have a true 50/50 tire, that will live most of the time on the pavement, Mitas may not be the best solution, especially for those with heavy throttle habits... For the first 1500 I was really happy with the tires, no issues on/off road, great performance on both... But last week I was coming home from the trip (~2000 miles on tires), and notices some sort of wobbling/floating from the rear tire on lower speed turns. When I got home, I checked the rear tire, and I noticed cracks along the center strips knobs, where they contact the main surface, like they are starting to be ripped off of the tire... It is not too bad so far, but I am concerned if it is safe to keep riding it. To be fair, I don't do anything reckless, no willies etc, but I do get up to speed rather quickly, and usually ride "in the left lane", and I do break with transmission a lot, which puts more pressure on the rear tire... Front one is fine, no issues so far. Just to let you know... :) . Ride safe!

If you're not in a rush, wait a little bit; maybe the other LC engine will lose value. Personally, I have a 2015 GSA LC and love it, did some off-road as well, and the new models after 2015 had already new improvements with smoother clutch, automatic ESA, new digital dashboard and so on...I have tried the others as well, KTM 1290 S, Multistrada Enduro, new Tiger 1200. The Multistrada is the only one that gave me good feeling, but then, and it is personal, I like to stick to shaft drive. And the Multi is also more expensive...

    Woulda been a pretty decent video, until the 2:00 ish mark where you can see him mess with the 'new' tire's tread measurement, and then decides to, for some unknown stupid reason, measure the tread of the 'old' tire in a spot that seems to be A) different, and B) completely out of sight of the camera... meaning that the initial measurement was tampered with, and the second one could have been tampered with even more...

      How to make measurement difficult. Maybe Americans have some perspective of what 430 thousands looks like and can compare with 270 thousands. Not me. Millimeters is so much better, at least for me. My country went metric long time ago. So much easier & simpler and like the rest of the world. About time the USA did too as it is the only industrialised country where the metric system is not the predominant system of units.

    CoughbullshitCough.
    EVERYBODY cares about tires and their particulars, or beit, their compounds. We Entrust our lives with them.
    I was recently at a seminar and a BMW paid professional research and development Rider offered to talk about tires, so he did, and went into a vague rhetoric, claiming the same thing, that to him,"tires are just round and black". Lol.
    Then he claimed he wasn't going to tell us what his favorite tire was blah blah blah.
