  • To make way for a new baseball field, the Tropicana Las Vegas closed its doors to the public on April 2nd, 2024. One of the steps in preparing for the new venue's opening is going out with the old, which is exactly what is planned to happen today. Just like every Las Vegas hotel beyond salvation, they end up being blown to dust, a bittersweet moment for Vegas fans throughout the world. To pay respect to what was the one and only Tropicana Las Vegas, one of Jonajo's founders, Jonathan Chua, filmed the Tropicana's Club Tower elevators back in 2021, early in his friendship with Josef Gonzalez (the other founder of Jonajo). What a shame that an elevator as new as what you will see in this video (the Otis Series M2 is still mass produced today) is all put to waste under the building's demolition. We hope you enjoy this blast from the past, in memory of this historic Vegas landmark.
