Cheers mate, love the splash prawn. I have been watching some of your vids, have used the frogs on bass but not for Jack's yet, I'll have to give it a crack.
Thanks Nick, I have been a bit slack lately putting vids up. I have been fishing heaps but not taking the cam, just enjoying the fishing without having to think about filming as well. Cheers for watching mate.
Beautiful fish no matter what size :) Great videos as always I've been catching more flathead than anything else lately, might have to chuck around the splash prawn more haha
Nice on mate! Do you ever try using your lures at night? I have and have caught plenty of predatory fish even when there is no moon or jetty lights, because the fish don't need to 'see' the lure, they can also 'feel' it moving in the water with their lateral line. I was targeting Jacks at Harvey Bay and I caught a nice big flathead one dark night, using a small wedge shaped block of unpainted cedar with a groove cut in one of the rectangular sides. I just glued a big long shank hook into the groove and fished it like a surface popper. I wasn't expecting a flathead to come up off the bottom and grab it. The hook went through the middle of the fishes top lip. My experiment payed off with a nice feed! 😁
Yes I do a fair bit of night lure fishing, mainly with soft plastics. You are 100% correct, the fish can feel the vibrations of the lure. Awesome work on the home made lure hooking up a flathead, very satisfying feeling when a home made lure works.👍👍👍
Heading up to Woopi April 24, hopefully jacks are still around, bucket list fish for me, great videos by the way.
Cheers mate, we were still getting jacks at easter last year so you should be able to chase them when you're up Coffs way in April. Good luck.
Great session and a well presented video. Awesome work!
Thanks mate, I really appreciate that, cheers.
Beautiful creek and nice action shots!!!❤🐟💪🏻
Thanks mate, hopefully next time I can find some larger jacks, but still nice getting up small creeks like this, so peaceful.
@@LoveYakken Absolutely!..I mostly do landbased but I do have a kayak…definitely need to get out in it more ☺️
Good stuff mate the old splashys go alright 👍

Thanks mate, but I'm grumpy as hell when I'm not fishing 😂.

Cheers mate, no bigger jacks caught but still heaps of fun catching little fellas off the surface.

I’m in Coffs and haven’t chased Jacks from my Hobie.
Looks like I’ll give it a go .

Thanks Richard, they are good fun to chase, becomes an addiction if you're not careful! lol

Jack's are the best looking fish in the creeks I reckon, good to hear you've been getting some flathead, might have a fish for them this week.
