It was my parents in the car. They were in the right turn lane waiting to turn right behind a truck, and a car ran a read light heading east to west and hit a truck that was coming from North to South (towards the truck infront of them) and hit that truck head on and that's what pushed that truck into their car and back into another truck behind them. 2 car and 3 truck accident.
Rider wasn’t paying attention to the stopped traffic ahead and then slammed on the brakes, he stopped to suddenly with a car behind him a big no no for any rider who wants to survive on the road.
This is the absolute nightmare scenario for me when i'm riding. I have to say though that any car driver should be able to look past a motorcycle and spot the stationary traffic ahead of it; most riders aren't that overweight. Nevertheless i just hope he was relatively okay for such an impact and not trapped between vehicles.
in those cases i think its best just to flair out to the side of the vehicle in front of you to avoid getting rear ended, but then again this all happened so fast and he had no time to think about it

I received a 7.8 and passed. My mates either braked . . . Wrong .... OR worse . . . changed gear and then braked. . Wrong and the Simulator read "you are most likely dead!"

The intersection was rebuilt a few years back and became a bit confusing, basically if you wanted to turn right you had to stay in the left lane (as seen on the road sign up top). The two right lanes only goes straight. I'm guessing he noticed the sign a bit late and quickly wanted to get in the left lane, was busy checking mirrors and didn't keep an eye in front.

What I appreciate about these videos is the amount of people who actually STOP when they witness an accident. I was in a bad accident back in 2012 and NO ONE stopped to fill out a witness report to the police.
Kessels / Mt Gravatt - Capalaba road is featured a couple of times and it's not surprising. The crash at 3:24 is where heaps of accidents happen (cnr Auckland street). Had a mate live just up from there and would give me a weekly "what a fuckwit" report.
I lived along that stretch of road 40 years ago when it was a 2 lane country road and it was bad then. The neighbours had a car crash and land in their front yard with the 100th person killed on Queensland roads in 1976

The amount of death traps on the road mechanically is astounding. With a highly looked after efficient vehicle kept well tuned and serviced you can brake quicker with good braking systems , tyres, shocks new brake fluid etc . .. even people understanding how much tyre actually touches the road hardly many know .a lot of this is highly avoidable it is just you are right they give incompetent people cars a lot do not even know the road rules or know ADR design rules . Ok when I lived in the UK you were not supposed to turn from the right lane on a roundabout to an exit. You were supposed to move from the right lane to the left, then to exit. I assume this is the same in Australia, is it??
huh?? you are supposed to follow the arrows on the road leading into the intersection. usually it is left lane can go left or straight, right lane can go straight or right or uturn. if you are talking about the video at 1.12 then most likely the guy on the left cut the guy in the camera's car off by trying to turn right from the left lane while the camera's car was going straight.

RootedHat All the vehicles we can see are moving. They aren't stopped. The ones in the right lane are stopping because there is a hazard directly in front of them. Whatever it is it may have its hazard lights on but we don't know that because we can't see it. The vehicles in the left lane are pulling over on the verge because they've just seen whatever caused the hazard. It has clearly just happened. The vehicles that we can see either don't have the opportunity to put on their hazard lights because they are having to stop in a hurry or will do so after they've pulled over on the verge. The camera stops showing the scene before it gets to that point.
Or be aware, the cam car doesn't start braking for ages, and it's entirely possible that those in front can't see the hazard and are more focused on stopping. Some people just have zero awareness on motorways, especially in the outside lane.
You should ALWAYS turn on the hazards when you're braking hard on a motorway. You never know if the guy behind you actually realizes how hard you're braking.

The number of times I have been cut off, almost crashed in to, tailgated, sideswiped, and rear ended by people that are either not paying attention, on their fucking mobile phones and just being general dicks on the road is unbelievable. I was abused by an Islander ( yeah call me racist I dare ya too ) all because HE came into MY lane because he was on his mobile and not paying attention to the road. HE then abused ME because I had a go at him.... Now @Deevo037, please continue your argument.
What's really concerning, is that there seem to be a large, very large, number of these incompetent people, out driving motor vehicles, on the roads... It just blows my mind...
Robert Brauer you know driving is not a difficult thing to do most people are just not aware even some that are innocent in this whole thing could have also been avoided if they saw it going to happen, as well because I am a mechanic I have driven Most cars on the road and fixed a lot of cars some a very very big joke some that have just passed safety Certs and the cars are still a joke with lax safety officers not even checking front struts . The amount of death traps on the road mechanically is astounding. With a highly looked after efficient vehicle kept well tuned and serviced you can brake quicker with good braking systems , tyres, shocks new brake fluid etc . .. even people understanding how much tyre actually touches the road hardly many know .a lot of this is highly avoidable it is just you are right they give incompetent people cars a lot do not even know the road rules or know ADR design rules . 2 crashes featured in the video were idiots turning right from the left lane on the Gooding Road roundabout in Carrara, Gold Coast. This happens nearly everyday at that spot...
Ok when I lived in the UK you were not supposed to turn from the right lane on a roundabout to an exit. You were supposed to move from the right lane to the left, then to exit. I assume this is the same in Australia, is it??

you are supposed to follow the arrows on the road leading into the intersection. usually it is left lane can go left or straight, right lane can go straight or right or uturn. if you are talking about the video at 1.12 then most likely the guy on the left cut the guy in the camera's car off by trying to turn right from the left lane while the camera's car was going straight.

it is allowed to change lanes in a roundabout in oz. it is just tricky and requires extra caution.
Nah, like someone mentioned, if it’s a two lane, then left land is for turning left or straight, right lane is for straight, turning right and left, depending on the round about. It is all painted on the road prior to the roundabout, quite simple. The one with the roundabout, the guy on the outside lane was in the wrong

All the vehicles we can see are moving. They aren't stopped. The ones in the right lane are stopping because there is a hazard directly in front of them. Whatever it is it may have its hazard lights on but we don't know that because we can't see it.
The vehicles in the left lane are pulling over on the verge because they've just seen whatever caused the hazard. It has clearly just happened.
The vehicles that we can see either don't have the opportunity to put on their hazard lights because they are having to stop in a hurry or will do so after they've pulled over on the verge. The camera stops showing the scene before it gets to that point.
Or be aware, the cam car doesn't start braking for ages, and it's entirely possible that those in front can't see the hazard and are more focused on stopping. Some people just have zero awareness on motorways, especially in the outside lane.
You should ALWAYS turn on the hazards when you're braking hard on a motorway. You never know if the guy behind you actually realizes how hard you're braking.
