i used to get annoyed at him as a pundit but he's very clean cut and straight to the point which I like a lot about him. He used to rip into arsenal a lot of the time when we were down, but looking back at it, he was right a lot of the time

It's not the managers fault if he hasn't the right players for the job these players haven't performed for about 5 managers now there all useless and need to go apart from maybe 4 of them at most.
That dig at Heracles at the end was so out of left field but was so on point. Merse talks a lot of waffle sometimes but this was as accurate as he’s ever been
Funnily enough, Heracles and Bayern Munich were the only two sides the Ajax team that reached the semi-final of the UCL did not manage to win against across two games. Unlike Bayern though, we actually managed to win from Ajax. Furthermore, from the 8 games ETH’s Ajax faced against Heracles, they only managed to win 4. So to technically Heracles was a terrible example of a club ETH had it easy against in the eredivisie.

56 years here since I was 12. I was privileged to attend Bobby Charlton's funeral and I'll never forget it. It was so moving. David Gill was just about holding it together during his eulogy he got so emotional. So many legends were attending, including Sir Allex, Roy Keane,Bryan Robson,John Aston,Jim Ryan,Brian Mclair, Brian Kidd ,Mike Summerbee,Willy Morgan and good to see and shake Ole's hand.Amazing send off and many, many memories came flooding back watching Bobby and these old and not so old players in Manchester cathedral.

I was surprised at that comment by Merson. He's clearly forgot that just being in the Champions League pulls in a huge amount of revenue, and attracts player signings, and enough revenue to buy decent players and build a decent squad.

holjund is their only player they could potentially build a team around. the rest of the team is far away from a "must keep status" in the summer and are also lacking the quality/ potential. should keep bruno, hojlund, lisandro, mainoo. the rest lacks quality, consistancy, or identification with the club (or all of them)

As bad as we were today, and we were really bad. Its never as bad as it seems. Ten Hag needs to go 100% A LOT of the players need to go but I'd keep onana, martinez, dalot, wan bissaka, malacia, mainoo, mount, fernandes, garnacho and hojlund. Some of those will be decent enough squad players, some will be starters. Thats enough to start from and just build out the squad from there. Arteta finished 8th, 8th, 5th and then suddenly were challenging city for most of the next season so its not implausible. The fact we are getting proper football people in to the club will have a significant impact, maybe not short term but long term
However, Ten Hag did brilliant at Ajax where he had a competent sporting director and time to build a squad. I want Ten Hag to have more help in recruitment. This game was so bad that the players have to take the vast majority of the blame. How can players look fans in the mirror and say "I love this club and I will do my very best every day in training and on the pitch". Any player can have a bad game, but the least you can do is work hard and not give up. To many players are not up to the standards of a top PL team. Would City, Liverpool or Arsenal want Rashford, the supposedly best United player ? Hell no ! Spurs or Villa might, but not based on this season. Honestly looking at his stats over the last 3 seasons it would be hard for any manager to convince his sporting director to go for Rashford, even for a relatively low price, considering he probably want to keep his high paycheck.

Why is it when Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool lose players to injuries everyone feels sorry for them. United have had so many injuries especially key players and its the managers fault or the teams playing poorly. Yes we haven't played amazingly but we haven't had a LB all season or first rb half our cbs are in and out, we have had so many different starting 11s its hard to find rhythm when its a different team every week. What's bonkers is that United have no cover for Shaw at LB, nor cover for Hojlund at CF....yet they've loaned out Alvaro Fernandez to Granada, a LB who got rave reviews when he was loaned out to Preston last season. And Pellestri, also loaned to Granada, who is a promising forward who scored against Barca last week & is getting into the Uruguay international side

United have had quite a lucky season scraping many wins by just 1 goal, hence their abysmal G/D compared to the others around them in the table, Mctominay wonder goals saving them a couple of times too. I am encouraged by the appointments Ratcliffe has made so far Ten Hag is on very thin ice though now, if we implode in the next 10 games I think he'll be gone in the summer.

Casimiro and Varane were bought from Real Madrid for very high fees considering they are nearly 30. If they were any good, they would have remained at Real.

Does Tim Sherwood do any research! Two of the players that started were Ten Hag signings and one of those Im not even sure was his choice. Hes being forced to play the same players who have failed previous managers due to injuries or youth players as the seniors at the club are useless.

How many times over the years have united fans brought up the fact Gerrard never won a premier league and Liverpool went 30 years without a title. Well how long a gap will man United take? How many of there players will never win one? Besides that, Man United once went 42 years without a title and they look on track to break that record.
The same was said about Arteta the year before his team started looking like top 3.
