To people who aren't sure about first gear or second gear : First gear is ONLY necessary to get you moving from stand still. It doesn't do anything, doesn't provide much acceleration, it is only there to get your wheels turning. So if you are moving in any capacity, use second gear.
The other video driving school lady has told a few learners to drop from second and go round narrower junction corners in first, which surprised me somewhat. If I did that in my little van, it would lurch to almost a crawl and the engine would harrumph & complain about it in the process. First in my van is absolutely only for pulling off, as the first commenter says. He (van) also doesn't like if you pull off in first but then have to briefly ease off mid-accelerate then go again without fully stopping. That makes him jerk when you accelerate again.
First gear is also used for climbing up as it's the strongest gear. If you are on an underground parking you probably should go up in first gear. ALSO first gear can be used to slow down / brake the engine in the oposite way, instead of pressing the breaks and making them heating up you could use second or first gear on a descending slope since it slow down the engine without pressing the breaks.

I think one thing that could help her is minding her posture. Actually lining her back up with the back of the seat. With how much she is leaning forward towards the steering wheel she is less likely to look further ahead whilst driving and having your shoulders anchored in the seat will avoid swerving even when you look another way or do a shoulder check. This will also give you more control over the pedals because your movements will be less stiff when you don't have to worry about keeping your back off of the back from the seat.
Good point, I recently had to drive a little bit with my backrest tilted back way too far and it was a lot more annoying then I expected. Not sure how much she can do about it, headrests often only adjust up and down and she is touching that with her hair already.
@@Nervous101 you should always ensure you have a proper driving position so you can drive safely. A very insightful mock test! A video from Richard (Conquer Driving), where he demonstrates dry steering and how it affects the tyres etc. I can see why Pin wouldn't recommend dry steering, but in some situations it's actually worth dry steering first rather than steering whilst moving, like during various parking maneuvres etc.

What a lot of motorists don't realize is SatNav is an aid, it's not a life-support machine. You don't need to follow it down to the letter when you are driving or even on your driving test. Focus on the road, and take their guidance into account as you're driving. If you miss a turn, don't worry, the SatNav will sort that out for you computing a new route, that's why they are there! It's much better to be a couple of minutes late than to follow the directions closely and rear end someone or jump from the motorway to the exit ramp at the last minute (or vice-versa)!
She seemed quite nervous. My lessons were going fine and then a week before the test, it's like I couldn't drive. It's really funny to see that other countries don't put so much emphasis on traffic observation. In Germany, every time you change lanes or turn, you have to follow the sequence: "inside mirror, outside mirror, blind spot". Otherwise you fail the test. It's enough if you don't turn your head enough, because otherwise the examiner can't see whether you have everything in view. Fortunately, I had an examiner who placed more importance on producing safety than on my "incredible" driving skills.

@@alisharahman2709 yea as jigsaw said. Here in the UK, for the first 2 years after passing your test, you can o ly get 6 penalty points, I stead of the normal 12. Otherwise they will take your licence away. We call this the probation period. Thier is no direct connection between that and me going back to my instructor it just seemed like a good timescale. Never had a single point on my licence luckily.
I actually got recommended to dry steer, i am using a automatic car however. It was easier for me to get a real tight parallel park in if i could dry steer the angles, and lessened my chances of failing the parallel park.
I completely feel her, because I recently took a private lesson for the heck of it, and I couldn't drive their car for sh!t ! Even though I'm extremely skilled with my own car and been driving for ages. It's very hard to drive a huge piece of metal that you've never driven before, even if you're a good driver.
I drive and practise in like five different cars. The main things to do in a new care are two: (1) Bite point position. Find the bite point position, and REMEMBER THE POSITION OF YOUR LEG when you reach it. (2) - Distance judging. Reverse close to a curb. Look at your aide mirror. memorise how deep the curb is into your car. Do this for other distance problems too (such as how deep the curb to your left is into your windscreen when ur parked) Once you got these things down, picking up a different car is no problem at all.
I passed my test first time with just 4 minor faults today😁...so relieveddd...Ur videos helped alot...my instructor didn't even told me how to do emergency stop!! Waste of money
Me getting my license from my permit took forever. When I did my road tests I failed twice and had enough. Years later and many driving experiences later I’m comfortable enough to drive. I took my road test the third time. I wanted it to be over with and I knew how to drive. Then boom passed on the third try. Just keep practicing, when people tell you to relax please relax and kinda pretend the tester isn’t there. Confidence helps! Good luck to all taking their road test.
She just needs to relax a bit and slow down. She seems flustered but being on camera can't be easy. Not a bad driver. Just clearance issues because she stares at upcoming junctions or the sat nav.
10:23 she seems to do a series of down changes but instead of braking first to reduce road speed for next gear she depresses clutch and changes first. At 70 mph changing down would show up very badly.
It’s kindness to the vehicle too but have found new drivers tend to just break now without going through 3rd and 2nd and slowing down with a bit more decorum.
@@stevemccann4166 This lady bid a 4 to 3 change without any prior braking. Then minimal braking between each gear change. Often learners are in 30 or 20 mph zone continuously. The poor use clutch first with no braking on a down change gear sequence does not show up as badly as in 30 mph zones as it would from a 70 mph in 5th gear scenario. No end of times learners approach traffic lights and go for 1st without sufficient prior braking. This could throw the examiner forward in his//her seat when the clutch comes up and the engine cannot speed up quick enough to match the speed of the wheels at as low as 20mph.
6:07 Why would it be a driving fault to "hesitate" at a roundabout? I mean if the van signalled at all, it was very hard to see. Slowing down a bit won't hurt anyone, entering when you shouldn't does.
@@fkez0510 It’s because an experienced driver behind you would expect you to go and could cause them to slow down or even stop if you didn’t for no reason. Same as driving 40mph in a 50mph zone would be considered a fault if road ahead was clear as inconveniencing other road users.
I’ve been binge watching your videos it’s really interesting and unique seeing how they drive in the UK I’m a learner driver in the US and have been binge watching driving videos ❤😂
Her left foot should rest on the side of the clutch instead. Having it down like that can cause an accident, it can get tangled up and instead of the clutch being under your foot it can get over instead or hit it with your toe. Most cars have a resting space for your foot on the left of the clutch because of a reason, especially if you drive in a city. If you are on a highway and get tired you can rest your foot on the floor.

By the time my end of probation came my old instructor had died of covid 3 months prior lel
I know people with a licence who can't drive as good as her on manual she is getting there💯
I actually got recommended to dry steer, i am using a automatic car however. It was easier for me to get a real tight parallel park in if i could dry steer the angles, and lessened my chances of failing the parallel park.
Love his sense of humour she sick of her driving 😂😂
I completely feel her, because I recently took a private lesson for the heck of it, and I couldn't drive their car for sh!t ! Even though I'm extremely skilled with my own car and been driving for ages. It's very hard to drive a huge piece of metal that you've never driven before, even if you're a good driver.
I drive and practise in like five different cars. The main things to do in a new care are two:
(1) Bite point position.
Find the bite point position, and REMEMBER THE POSITION OF YOUR LEG when you reach it.
(2) - Distance judging.
Reverse close to a curb. Look at your aide mirror. memorise how deep the curb is into your car.
Do this for other distance problems too (such as how deep the curb to your left is into your windscreen when ur parked)
Once you got these things down, picking up a different car is no problem at all.
@@maalikserebryakov That still takes you time to get adapted and get comfortable with the car.
I enjoyed watching this video, and hearing the observations, Jamila is a pretty good driver, she just has to correct some driving faults.
Watched your videos to help, passed my test first time and yet I still find myself coming back to watch your videos haha
She seems a really Nice girl . Hope she corrects the mistakes and passes soon😊
Thank you for helping us learning how pass our driving test effectively
I passed my test first time with just 4 minor faults today😁...so relieveddd...Ur videos helped alot...my instructor didn't even told me how to do emergency stop!! Waste of money
Not us having similar names & me getting shook when he says it and i’ve passed already 🤣🤣
She’ll be a terrible angry braless driver
I know I should be focusing on her driving but daaamn she's so BEAUTIFUL 🤭🤭❤❤❤❤🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️
Passed my driving test yesterday :D but still watching your vids!
DGN brother you’re on daily dose of internet!!!
6:07
Why would it be a driving fault to "hesitate" at a roundabout?
I mean if the van signalled at all, it was very hard to see.
Slowing down a bit won't hurt anyone, entering when you shouldn't does.
She stopped for the van when she didn't need to, which can unnecessarily hold up traffic behind you. That is why it's a fault
UK rules dude 🤷♂️
@@fkez0510 It’s because an experienced driver behind you would expect you to go and could cause them to slow down or even stop if you didn’t for no reason. Same as driving 40mph in a 50mph zone would be considered a fault if road ahead was clear as inconveniencing other road users.
She is so pretty. I hope she passes soon.
I’ve been binge watching your videos it’s really interesting and unique seeing how they drive in the UK I’m a learner driver in the US and have been binge watching driving videos ❤😂
Thank you for watching the channel.
Wow she got a beautiful smile.
I dont know where this is but the roads look super busy and very hard to pass any driving test😂
Normal car clutch every 5 to 7 years
Pin's car clutch every 6 months
She did my sisters hair!!! Needless to say shes got talent for sure
I always rest my foot on the floor and have not had a problem, as long as your foot isn't underneath the pedal I don't see the problem?
@@tinyred4512 I put my foot under it, because I am too small to put it at the left of that pedal. Never had issues 🤷🏼♀️ Already drove 30.000 kms like that in 2 years
@@lavh4406 personally I wouldn’t put my foot under it was my dumb ass would probably get it stuck 😭🤣
Passed yesterday first time with 2 minors. Now part of the passed but still watching gang
I passed 4 years ago & I would love to do my lessons again. These videos make me miss having lessons & learning.
Wtf you must be a masochist I can’t wait til I’m done just a money pit rn and stress without being able to drive myself to work and back 😢😢 also you know you can take further driving lessons? Idk why people would do that but it’s out there lol so you can always learn more I guess
Really well done, think most people learning are concentrating on inside the car & unaware of their surroundings, especially behind them? Its just practice.
She's so cute.
1 thing I noticed is she keeps leaning forward while driving. So why didn’t she put up the seat so it would save her posture. Also I feel she needed the steering wheel lowering . Why don’t instructor mention they can do that?
don't worry, it's just normal for the first time to take the car outside, maybe in the next few days, there will be a slight change
i love how he always exaggerates his wobbling to show what the learner is doing is wrong. (like when she selects 1st gear while moving)
Runs over a curb, “ I think it’s going ok I’m just a bit shaky” 😂
25:07 THAT FOCUS LOOKING CLEAN
The whiplash and airbag in her face if she keeps driving tilted so far forwards ☠
You guys sound calm, my driving instructor scolds me every second every minute even on the first day I got too nervous to even learn to drive... Maybe cus I live in Asia but dang idk...
5:05 my guy itches his hat
💀💀💀
No way Pin made it to Daily Dose of Internet 😂 well done!
I saw that too. I kinda felt bad for the girl cos that video went everywhere.
‘By her own reactions I thought Djamela would be SICK! ..SICK of her own driving ‘ 😂😂😂😂
You should have a debate with conquer driving and the other RUclips driving instructors on dry steering
Haha! I was thinking this
im 11 i love to watch people driveing becouse i whant to drive so this helps
Passed my test today on my 18th birthday!!!
Congrattts- manual or automatic?
@@sumaiya5916 manual😁
i passed mine week ago my advice will be once you have control on the car and you are confident go for it
Don’t worry about the intro bro, if she was in my car I’d be stuttering too 😅
He forgot to turn the heating on, the windows started steaming up. And he panicked 😉 The proof is right there 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@WeAreThePeople1690 pin completely lost his composure
Passed today with 1 minor! Joining the passed but still watching gang
Being from a right side driving country, this test seems very confusing to me.
I really want to try a mock exam just to see if I could pass. Iv been driving years. I think everyone wants to see this instead of a learner
I own an ex driving school car and let me tell you it's seen it's fair share of scrapes and dings in it's life haha. Just to be expected though.
Back in secondary school, one of my friends had his classes postponed, because another student had wrecked the instructors' car 😅
Man you are doing a good job and deserve a an accolade. Cheers
Can we see the damage that she did please.
i think he did a great job making her feel less nervous . so laid back
Pins face always makes me laugh when drivers mess something up
I just failed today! Because of my nerves 😬! Not going to let it put me down! Hoping to pass soon 😁
My Father who had an International License said to me that when steering, you need to be moving while steering for the tires not to get "damaged" while driving. He specifically said that the test given in these types of driving test especially the ones with the driving course is harder than anything with the driving mock test.
Yes its correct about steering, he raised it as a "Dry Steering" fault.
Not just the tires, it also damages the steering rack. Too much pressure on the whole system as the wheels have over one ton of weight on them.
That part where she couldn't find the stick 3 minutes in reminds me of like my 2nd time driving after I got my license. I left a bottle in the cup holder that was right behind the stick and I kept grabbing it instead of the stick
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂w
the silence was so loud 😂💀
It's a mock test, not a podcast
huh????@@straw1berry11
