Hey, just wanted to let you know I love your content. Just start subscribing and seeing all kinds of great stuff. In addition to your solo break downs, I really enjoy the theory/scale explanations you do. You didn’t do that here which I would have also enjoyed but I recently watched your version of Baby Blue and it’s so excellent. Not only am I learning by trying to mimic your lines, but I’m also learning the foundation for how your approaching it which helps me to come up with own lines and be a bit more improvisational - which helps me better mimic your lines as well - it’s a positive feedback loop. Thanks so much.
Jack! This is Andrew from the Dead cover band in high school, the one with Mike Goss. Just surfing through some instruction vids and happened on this lol. You can certainly still play that damn guitar, but maybe some tabs would help us mere mortals pick up what you're throwing down. Hope all is well my friend!
@@jacksnax4guitar460 maybe just some mention of the mades or CAGED pattern so people can get a reference to improvise over rather than a note-for-note. Either way, these are great videos and I'm looking forward to going thru them. Yeah, I've traded my drums for guitar a while ago lol.
@@andrewpache Hey…Point taken!😄 But… If you poke around, I think you’ll find different levels of explanation available within the different styles of videos I offer. It’s mostly a function of time and the attention span of most viewers. I can only get folks to watch vids for 15-20 minutes max most of the time. So if the idea is to learn a note for note blues solo (like this) the modes don’t really factor in that much. However there are plenty of videos that are more concept based that delve into the theory behind the choices with less emphasis on grabbing my solos note for note. Those are usually subtitled “soloing strategies”. The good news is the info is out there, cheap and plentiful! I feel good about the work and the people I’ve met through it. And I’m really tickled that you came across my playing. Very very cool. I still remember trying to play this stuff back then. Occasionally getting it right…but not quite most of the time. Would love to see a breakdown of the rhythm track --- your backing track playing is as impressive as your lead breakdown but us INTERMEDIATE folks like me who use a looper to learn from your videos would greatly benefit from seeing those chord fingerings as well. Please post...
No offense mate but generally one would assume that you could discern the chords by ear, that is if you’d put yourself in the intermediate category/level as you clearly made it known in your post some months ago
Strat middle pickup Kemper amp profiler (Mesa boogie mark v clean turned up a little bit. Compressor/Limiter Reverb and delay Nothing to it in terms of the tone. Most of it is getting the timing of the notes
Please slow the steps down. Call out the notes and frets for ALL the parts, like you did for the first lick. You're kinda flying through a lot of it. Thank you.

You called out the trickiest part like the double downstroke. I really appreciate that, but you don't need to call every single note and fret out. This solo is probably too advanced for folks who need that. Thank you!
