Capote led to Capote's downfall.
Yes he did. He pretended to be their friend and when he had nothing to write about it he betrayed them for a few dollars. The show portrays the swans as a sort of 'real housewives' I think that was far from the case. The world was different back then.
He was a nasty, snarky little rat.
Truman Capote spilled the beans, but the "swans" handed him the can.
Well put.
Clever
....and closed the door & locked it.
Slim's second husband was Leland Hayward, the famous agent and producer at the time. He was also married to the actress Margaret Sullivan, who died of barbiturates. Their daughter Brigid died of the same a year later in 1961. Their son committed suicide years late. Their eldest, Brooke, born in 1937, is still alive and wrote "Haywire", an autobiography. She was married to Dennis Hopper for a time and involved in his productions.
The moral is don't envy these people who clearly sold their souls for material possessions and watched it all turn to dust.
Great comment. Thanks.
Sad to be secretly jealous and envious! I know I wouldn't have liked him had I met him!
What a superficial, self serving and superfluous life these people lived/live. So sad.
Couldn’t have said it better.. wonder if they now and then think what a shallow person i am! 😊
Maybe but the last Mrs. Agnelli died in 2019.
i feel the sadest for babe she of them all was so close to truman and her life was tragic she was a bird in a guilded cage truly and she felt truman was her best friend but even more than that she loved him i can't imagine eoe alone and sad she felt after his beytrail feeling maybe that she was never anything to him, in the end on her death bed she called out for him , very sad
I agree. Many put her down, but her life to me is tragedy. She has such sad eyes, and if you notice in the photos very rarely smiles so self conscious about her teeth. Bill tried to be the loving husband at the end, but she wanted nothing to do with him.
Very good narrator. Great video.
Thank you.
A vwise friend of mine once told me that the #1 cause of the downfall of very successful people was mischief. Whether if is having an affair, or stealing something, or betraying a secret, very successful people think they have the power toget away with mischief that would destroy mere mortals.
he should have stuck to fiction
Did he ever really write fiction? Even Holly Golightly was based on someone he'd known.
He wrote In Cold Blood, which is true crime.
Today they'd put all this out themselves
😂
I'm just getting in on all of this. Thanks for all the content about them!
Glad it was interesting for you. One day I will cut together a video with all the Swans in it. But now, I'm so busy trying to create new scripts and stories. Thanks for all your comments and support.
I can't stand Truman Capote's mannerisms . The portrayal is perfect , but it's a little bit 'too gay' for me . But that's only my humble opinion .
You mean too effeminate, I think.
They all have such weird names
Off course, he did it!
It's a big deal and a huge part of their character of being a, homosexual...
Duh, imbalanced and corrupted.
I don't trust them and now, it's even worsening...
I don't like the actor playing Truman there has been much better potraitals of him. I love all the actresses however.
Agreed.
I really like him
I always thought Philipp Seymour Hoffman ( May R.I.P and God Bless his soul) did a great Truman Capote.
Toby Jones was very good.
I guess they are all good in their own potentials. My favorite is Phillip. Can't wait for ep. 2 Demi Moore is still so beautiful I saw her on Steven Cobert.
