As a child, years ago l loved ballet. l read everything l could from the library and when l saw this video on Maria Tallchief it was a name that rang a bell. She was beautiful, talented and made the most of her opportunities. I taught myself ballet from a book at the library which l borrowed many times but it is wonderful to see a real ballerina dance so beautifully. Subscribed.

Her husband had some sort of requirement to keep her weight down. As a woman who has had weight issues almost all my life, it can make you very irritable.

She was right; only “little people” pay taxes. Which is still the case, to this day. The tax laws are saturated with tax loopholes available to the rich.

I remember Leona Hensley well. Back in my mid twenties, I lived and worked in NYC. My career was in Hotel Management and at one point worked at the Hensley Palace Hotel at 69th. and Madison, I believe it was. At any rate, I worked for her and was familiar with her way of operating her business. Not to mention, her personally and how she behaved to staff and the general public. First, I must admit that she was a very smart business woman in many ways. Leona had an excellent product and knew exactly how to advertise the brand. At one point, earlier in my time at the Hemsley Palace Hotel, I respected and admired her. However, as time passed, I got to know who she really was and that was “ the queen of mean “. She was rootless. Her story from rags to riches was so true. I remember a true story about Leona that was amongst the employees, particularly, her chauffeur and the doorman at both the HPH and the Park Lane Hotel ( where she lived in the penthouse for many years on Central Park South), had a special code as it were. Whenever the Chauffeur arrived at either property, if his hat was off, then, Leona WAS NOT in the car. And if the driver’s hat was on, she WAS IN THE CAR. Well… one day, it was an especially hot day in NYC, the driver pulled up in front of the HPH with his hat OFF and with Leona IN THE CAR and the doorman walked up to the car and said, “ WHERE’S THE BITC- ? “ and to the doorman’s surprise Leona lowered her back tinted window and said, “ THE BITC- IS HERE AND YOU’RE FIRED “. MANY MANY OCCASIONS SIMILAR TO THIS OCCURD. Leona would terminate staff at the drop of a hat sort of speak. She was a mean and hateful person. It’s a real shame because her husband Harry Hemsley was a GREAT GUY/ BUSINESS MAN.

Well here is a ballerina I knew nothing about. When it came to ballerinas; I always thought of the Russians. What an incredible life from humble beginnings from Native American Heritage to the pinnacle of Prima Ballerina. I agree with her parents off she went to marry George Balanchine, who was quite older, but who helped paved the way for Maria. Beautiful artistic movements, wardrobe and a fine lady who represented her Osage Nation Tribe remarkably. She seemed happy later in life with her third husband and little "Princess" Elise Paschen. Thank you for your hard work and research I really loved this story. 🩰 On another note: don't worry about your audience. Some Channels have lots of subscribers, views, likes. I like the topic of Royalty and the one I subscribe has very few subscribers etc etc. The Royal Correspondent: Royal Daily , I go to Cooking channels and many many subscribers of course food 😂 and then current Politics and Travel (wow! amazing audiences ) It is what it is.
