Between Billy and Jimmy, this band is a musicians band. This becomes really apparent when I hear someone play everything that Billy is playing. As a drummer, I understand Jimmy to a T, having studied every single lick of every song since I was 11, but as a substantially less gifted guitarist, Billy’s licks and solos often reveal a monster player, even when the songs themselves are sometimes simple power chords
Billy + Jimmy was one of those few-times-in-a-lifetime matching of like minded and monstrously talented musicians working to create great rock music. Jimmy is by far one of the most underrated drummers in rock and this is a hill i will proudly die on, Jimmy's drumming on tracks like Hello kitty kat or geek USA still blow me away after so many years Billy is my #1 favourite songwriter and guitarist and he is also someone who is just criminally underrated for some reason.
thanks, yeah especially on gish I've always had this feeling that a lot of the lead work was less rehearsed and more recorded on the fly. it's some of my favourite lead work on any album but it's so hard to recreate and much like you said, very unique
did you know that fender stratocasters with only 21 frets were the original design but then they started making them with 22 frets in the mid 80s because of eddie van halen"s guitars, which had 22 frets on them. So your guitar is old and rare, and its a cream white color. Making it worth more money. But that's my opinion, 60s sunburst and cream white strats are the most rare and expensive strats out there. I have a 60s strat myself but its kind of a greenish blueish color its really pretty though. maybe Ill start a channel for doing covers or something. Anyways, all things aside, I loved the cover, you rock dude.
while i one day hope to afford an original run fender strat, mine is only a mexican copy. Gotta admit it goes pretty well for what it is and the build quality is amazing
for this and the rhinoceros vid i plugged directly into my computer with my line 6 ux1 audio interface as i had no good microphones, so its mainly amp models provided by the program guitargearfinder.com/reviews/recording-gear/line-6-pod-studio-ux1-review/
@@itsWhicker i'm pretty sure it was just some marshall clone with a tube screamer pedal, I cant really look it up any more i haven't had it installed for a while

Billy plays from the soul and just plays what he feels, that's why it's hard to recreate and can be unpredictable.
Never seen this covered before, one of my all time favs, you did it justice bro
Billy's guitar lines are amazing... virtuosic and melodic guitar lines... such a beautiful and very rare combination...
