Yeah Gish is an awesome album and a bit more rock than the others. The jaguar Im using is a really nice guitar I think and it's possible to get an almost Gibson-like sound if you mess about with the controls :) I went for a more trebly sound here though to try and match the album more closely.
@smashingradiohead Thanks a lot for the comment :) I know what you mean, the record has quite a few overdubs so its quite hard to figure it out from that. I dont really find tabs easy either so I watched a couple of covers on youtube and an old pumpkins video to learn it and its probably still not accurate ;)
@diesel389 Thanks. Its a Jaguar Classic Player special HH. Its Mexican but seems just as well build as my US Strat. But its the first guitar I bought brand new so I dont realy know. Will be evn better after a pro setup :)
Underrated album. Gish was a breakthrough record for the Pumpkins that catapulted them into a new record deal and super stardom. Saw them many times. Anyway, I'm a Gibson guy mostly, but I like your Fender, especially with the dual humbuckers! Cheers!

MrLuckyryan dont talk from ur ass pls, I'm think the lick is in A harmonic minor or smthn, since it's played over the dissonant chords part (A5 into G#5), but it's hard to pick out since it's really fast
Good question :) I'm not too great with theory but i think the notes in the scale are A B C D E F# G# A which according to google is A Melodic Minor. HTH
y0sh1100 It's worked out by ear and I don't think what I'm playing is quite right to be honest. In live videos billy plays further down the neck and I've never managed to nail it.

I wouldn't put Smashing Pumpkins in the "grunge" genre. They're more alternative or shoegaze. But you are spot on with that description
@@iand4374 some songs definitely share those of what “grunge” turned into. I also wouldn’t put them as grunge, but it’s still very close to that sound
