The best thing about Billy C is that there is only one singer like this. You cannot confuse him, his voice or style with anybody and anything. I remember his last concert in 2000 I think, it wss in Oberhausen, Germany...
This is so cool, I am from Utah, but was living in Germany in 2000 and drove 3 hours to Oberhausen to see them that year! He's one of the greats for sure. 😊
@Randi Smith, so probably we were there at the same time! Cool! ❤️ I know Utah, it is a beautiful State. I spent one week there once - it was very special to me. . Regards. ☘️
Recuerdo que pasaban este vídeo en Animax por allá en el 2007, como pasa el tiempo; Por cierto este año ví a los SP en primera fila cuando vinieron a Colombia, ver a tu banda favorita es lo máximo.
I am not of the generation that used listen to him... It was my daughter who made me listen to him by giving me his album as a birthday gift, and short after that I bought all his albums ... I still have my daughter's photo with Billy...
this song looks like smashing pumpkins, but they are not ... it looks like Swan, but they are not .. so it had to be the essence of all of them ... Billy Corgan
I remember liking this when it came out because it reminded of a bit of Adore and still managed to keep that crafty melancholy sound. It even further explored elements of shoegaze and electronica. Definitely a high point in BC's career.
Lol. I wrote a similar comment and just read yours. Adore was a life changing album for me, and The Future Embrace was very unappreciated and brilliant
If this album came out right now, it would have been viewed in a different light completely. I'll get in trouble for saying this, but it might have been ahead of it's time like Adore. Maybe I'm just getting older and appreciate music differently. Yeah, probably just me.
honestly you might be kinda right at the time this was really misplaced and felt almost... stale? the drum sound didn't make much sense at the time i guess, sounded very "80s" lo & behold, you have 80s drum sounds on damn near every pop song coming out these days
Meraxes billy is brilliant - he was ahead of the time in terms of musically and I don’t think when this was released many people still appreciated his work anymore and it’s tragic - his music is not what it use to be.. however I will always love him and I don’t regret the giant SP I have tattooed on my left arm ;)
This solo album is actually really brilliant. I love how Billy's signature writing style is evident....yet tonally it sounds unlike anything else he'd ever put out. At first I was iffy on the guitar tone....but now I honestly love it. It's the polar opposite of the bass-heavy big muff pi crunch Billy perfected through the 90s.....instead it's this cool shoe-gazey wash of tonality. And it really works. As with so much of Billy's work, it only sounds better as time goes on. I honestly don't think that will be the case with the latest string of utter let-down albums SP has released lately....but oh well. Billy's already proven himself _many times over_ to be a overwhelmingly prolific and undeniably creative songwriter....easily one of the best, if not the best, of his generation. So if the recent stuff falls flat....that sucks, but it doesn't bother me. Billy's already enriched my life with the sort of music 10 talented songwriters would be hard-pressed to create in their lifetimes. He's a musical genius....
Perfect summation! His body of work will outlast all us mere mortals. I'm hoping future generations give this man his due and his name is mentioned alongside the greats like Mozart and Beethoven. The period from 1991-2000 was perfection and the fact the sound changed so drastically from genre to genre makes it all the more impressive.
Billy was ahead of his time... I think that's the eternal issue. Watch. The Americana folk of Cotillions will be all the rage 10 years from now. Today nobody is paying much attention. Too bad :(
This was a very underappreciated album. I still like coming back to it, and Adore. Billy is an artists artist. Uncompromising in his vision and always willing to take risks.
Look at ya now Look at ya Torn estates Took forever Couldn't wait on words, on sound I just want you so You're everything, so cold The perfume of your rose in bloom I just want you so Anywhere I go The chase, the bells below Taken from my soul On the 9th day God created shame I'm out walking shade To brush these fires aside To calm the rising fight To build you a new life Should you choose I've picked the best for you It's your turn and my time to test I'll second guess the rest Look at ya now Look at ya Nothin's faced Took advantage of my faith and called me out I just want you so You're everything I'm told Dumb enough to scold this tongue I just want you so Anywhere I go A kingdom for your rain A pocket for your soul I just want you so You're everything although The risk is getting close to you I'm out walking shade The sun is going out The word is getting round That I just want you so
I played this nonstop the summer it came out.. listening now, it was the beginning of the end for Billy's vocal production or lack thereof. Pull it back just a tiny bit in the mix and use some reverb. I don't recall this being such a problem for the rest of the album.
It's clip distortion, modulation of some kind (probably chorus or modulated delay), delay, and reverb. That distortion sound is all in clip distortion/digital distortion.
I wish this would be made available on Itunes or spotify. The fans want it WPC! I have to listen to it on RUclips all the time since my cd bit the dust.
I don't get it. When this album came out, I thought it was a big turd. Now I'm listening and my mind is blown by its brilliance. And I know that I'm not the only one. Why is Billy such a time bomb?
One of the most beautiful clips I have ever seen...A pure feeling in a perfect sound and image...Something we don't see anymore in this world...Pena que um sentimento tão bonito e importante para uma pessoa, é a expressão de um sentimento bobo, envergonhado e omisso para os outros=um aspecto do rock and roll...ininteligível...que desfaz as relações puras e saudáveis entre as pessoas que se identificam reciprocamente...muito além das meras fronteiras da vida.
i like this new stuff, the album that got me into the pumpkins was the album Adore, which i loved for it's gritty blend of electronics and Corgans voice as well as pretty much everything that was going on in that album lol, so i like this direction he's gone in.
I love his clothing in this video, it reminds me of when he dressed somewhat like this for Tonite, Tonite. The video where he and his band are performing in the clouds with those really cool 2d props.
William Patrick Corgan, Victorian time traveling superhero! He always knew 'The Future Embrace' would stand the test of time!
What a pure genius.
Superhero!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
his guitar sound on this album is just a thing of beauty
The best thing about Billy C is that there is only one singer like this. You cannot confuse him, his voice or style with anybody and anything. I remember his last concert in 2000 I think, it wss in Oberhausen, Germany...

Very cool. Your daughter has great taste in music....and it's cool that you're open enough to embrace it as well!
this song looks like smashing pumpkins, but they are not ... it looks like Swan, but they are not .. so it had to be the essence of all of them ... Billy Corgan
@fear less, I still love those songs and I will always love them. I keep everything as my treasures. 🌻
This is so cool to hear! I love that
This song and video are miles beyond the view count.

Adore is one of Billy's best written CDs. Yes when you do get older your tastes should change. Nothing wrong there ;)
I liked this album.
honestly you might be kinda right

A sudden nostalgia rush got me here, because I used to wear this album out 😁

This album contains some of BC's best songs ever. I have no idea why it's not on Spotify/Apple Music
.
Billy was ahead of his time... I think that's the eternal issue. Watch. The Americana folk of Cotillions will be all the rage 10 years from now. Today nobody is paying much attention. Too bad :(
songs like these make me cry :( this is too beautiful, too much emotions to handle haha. billy is great! SP or solo, both a gift to our ears
This was a very underappreciated album. I still like coming back to it, and Adore. Billy is an artists artist. Uncompromising in his vision and always willing to take risks.
Still waiting for part two!
Damn good song, the future embrace is a gem and is some of Corgan's finest work.
Agreed!
This has aged well ❤
Look at ya now
Look at ya
Torn estates
Took forever
Couldn't wait on words, on sound
I just want you so
You're everything, so cold
The perfume of your rose in bloom
I just want you so
Anywhere I go
The chase, the bells below
Taken from my soul
On the 9th day God created shame
I'm out walking shade
To brush these fires aside
To calm the rising fight
To build you a new life
Should you choose
I've picked the best for you
It's your turn and my time to test
I'll second guess the rest
Look at ya now
Look at ya
Nothin's faced
Took advantage of my faith and called me out
I just want you so
You're everything I'm told
Dumb enough to scold this tongue
I just want you so
Anywhere I go
A kingdom for your rain
A pocket for your soul
I just want you so
You're everything although
The risk is getting close to you
I'm out walking shade
The sun is going out
The word is getting round
That I just want you so
Honestly this album was probably the best thing Corgan has done since the initial SP breakup.
100%
Billy is a legend, he has some sort of charm in his voice that i cannot find in anyone else....his voice is freakin special
I played this nonstop the summer it came out.. listening now, it was the beginning of the end for Billy's vocal production or lack thereof. Pull it back just a tiny bit in the mix and use some reverb. I don't recall this being such a problem for the rest of the album.
How the hell does this badass song and videoclip have so few views and why the heck am I the first one commenting since 10 years
Because he was cancelled on the premise of being a fascist pig 😂
Right what is this
@@chamico oh do tell....how is he a fascist pig? This better be good too...dont waste my time with some lame ass answer either!
Exactly what I was thinking. Last time I looked its not on spotify either. Badass song and video!
I need this entire album on vinyl ASAP. The sound of my teenage years.
Justice for TheFutureEmbrace 😮💨
THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF
Really wish they would reissue this
They did
@ Untrue
2024…still awesome
Must've played this song three times on my way home from work tonight. Love this track.
A kingdom for your rain, a pocket for your soul

Emilie did fantastic costume work for this video!
And still one of the best songs ever written...!!!!
Loved this album when it came out I was fresh out of high school ..love the guitar sound to this day I'm still trying to replicate it
It's clip distortion, modulation of some kind (probably chorus or modulated delay), delay, and reverb. That distortion sound is all in clip distortion/digital distortion.
Waaaaoo!
What a wonderful video and song!
Beautiful colours and 2D 3D.
I love this so much.

I was looking for this song for years💕
It took me 16 years to founded.
To All you young minds... Billy is A genius! He has been around since the 90's producing great music! Please listen... enjoy... and appreciate!
Underrated.
This song is going to be part of the centerpiece of a really cool movie someday.
Essas diferenças foram sempre as nossas únicas e grandes diferenças...nada mais.
Billy can do everything he wants. He is a great musician. I love this Neworderish sound.
Love the steam punk aesthetic.
Absolute genius.
underrated!
Put back in iTunes thanks
Great song and video. You'll never hear this on the radio nowadays. Maybe Satellite radio, but it's awesome
I wish this would be made available on Itunes or spotify. The fans want it WPC! I have to listen to it on RUclips all the time since my cd bit the dust.
Awfully underrated album. It’s a downtempo Adore and I love it so 🥰
His singing still perfect
This song is extremely 80s, it sounds like New Order
I wish this album would be added to streaming services
It took 4 years for them to officially post this amazing song on RUclips? Am I missing something?
Classic. 2005-06...... ahh, those were the days.
why isn't it on spotify?
Really great song. It can only be good when Corgan has khol around his eyes and evoluates in XIXth century's ambience !
I love this album!
I hate that this album isn't on Spotify😢 I'd like to listen to it there 😂
CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT !
ITS AWESOME :' )

I don't get it. When this album came out, I thought it was a big turd. Now I'm listening and my mind is blown by its brilliance. And I know that I'm not the only one. Why is Billy such a time bomb?

Complete! Brilliance.......

Shine on you crazy diamond
What a fucking star!
Simply brilliant.

Very futuristic song
well he had great hair back in 91', i am a big fan of sp and billys own stuff
this video would been killer in 3D.
Love you Billy Corgan ❤️❤️❤️
Such a cool music video
i like this new stuff, the album that got me into the pumpkins was the album Adore, which i loved for it's gritty blend of electronics and Corgans voice as well as pretty much everything that was going on in that album lol, so i like this direction he's gone in.
@SouthernTunes Billy never ages, he rages.
Grat song and great video ;)

TFE is peerless
I love his clothing in this video, it reminds me of when he dressed somewhat like this for Tonite, Tonite. The video where he and his band are performing in the clouds with those really cool 2d props.
😎😎😎😎 Walking Shade 😎😎😎😎 excellent voice, excellent performer
Genius musician.
this is seriously due for some love by the current SP lineup. would love to see james and Jimmy play on a heavier live version of this 🎸
