Looks a great wee hammock, another great review from your good self. 👍
I personally have DD Hammocks, a few of the other comments I've noticed have stated they also use DD.
But, I may be inclined to try a Snugpak Hammock. As I've mentioned to you before I am going to be purchasing various Snugpak products on the back of watching your excellent reviews and sharing your personal experience of their products.
    ATB. Keep safe👍
*as a side note, I was very moved by Ellie's singing 🙏

@@OscarOutdoors22 I second this. I’ve only fallen out once... and it wasn’t my fault. It was the whiskey’s... once you try it it’s hard to go back to ground sleeping. I hammock camp about 95% of the time. The other 5% is when there are no trees...

    • @OscarOutdoors22
      @OscarOutdoors22  3 года назад +1

      🤣🤣 the whiskey did it!!
Yeah i much prefer to hang now than ground dwell. I do struggle to go off when on the floor now. But i like to switch up the variables for channel.

    Great Review
The paracord caribeaner paracord looks like it would allow water to track down and thus travel into the hammock. There doesn’t seem to be a good break.
But good basic setup and review.

That’s true that can happen, But it’s easy to mitigate depending on how you setup. I use the Snugpak tropical hammock and the Snugpak all weather shelter for the core of my hammock rig. I DID swap out the carabiners to aluminum climbing grade gate biners to save weight.
As to setup: If you run your rain fly in a plow-point configuration (diamond pitched down at the foot end) it covers most of the susceptible areas. I usually will put a bivvi bag on my sleeping bag when I’m in a hammock as well to protect from residual run off. Here in Washington we get A LOT of rain and I’ve camped where it was coming in sideways so I always want a dry bag.
Checkout Scott’s setup in the storm hammock video I believe he goes over some good tricks.

Lot of people prefer the DD, unfortunately I’m a fat knacker at 132kg and the DD only holds 125kg where as the snugpack will hold 175 kg

Good, well made video mate. Personally I would not pay that for a simple hammock made in China. I have the same thing with a bug net that I bought a couple of years ago for £15. I like Snugpack but for the money I would want UK made. Regards JB.

Conpletley agree mate, although having visited the Snugpak warehouse a million and 1 times. I understand the need to re locate some manufacturing. But as you say maybe that coild expand to UK Somewhere. Thanks mate

I have my DD hammocks and why would I want a slugpak ? I changed my suspension to tree hugger straps and whoopie slings and am waiting for the AmSteel to arrive so I can replace the Karabiners with soft shackles :)

Walled In Hi, I’m a DD fan too. Pay a little more and in my opinion, you get a better bit of kit. Double layer too, with great tree hugging suspension instead of pats cord, plus a built in, zippable mozzy net. There are loads of DD vids out there. Check out Simon a bloke in the woods. I’ve just bought some Amsteel to make my own whoopy suspension which I think is the way to go. Great video as always Scott. Maybe worth mentioning the diagonal lay in your next one. Atb oMo
