This was one of the most wholesome lighthearted happy things I think I've ever seen. You legitimately had me smiling and laughing the entire time. Keep up the amazing work
I danced all the way through the 70's and the only person who ever danced like this was John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Having said that, if it makes you happy and keeps you moving go for it, and thank you for your efforts.
Thank you so much for this video! You’re so professional, vibrant and informative. Thank you again for showing different types, I’ve always wanted to learn disco
What fun! Just FYI, I'm sure disco styles varied wildly across the country, but where I lived (and yes, I was a college student during the big disco years and would go out dancing every week) no one would have been caught dead actually doing the "disco finger" (aka John Travolta stereotyped move) on the dance floor, nor the Funky Chicken. The Bump was popular as were coordinated moves between dance partners, like the Butterfly. Thanks for this fun video & your enthusiasm!
You do a really nice job. You are very positive and make the dancing very accessible. I teach music at school and I would love to incorporate your choreography. The best part is naming all of your moves and steps.
@@starbloomdance I teach at a charter school in Lackawanna, NY. I teach vocal music 4-12. My students are sitting all day, so getting them moving is important. Personally I do a lot of social dancing, mostly Latin, but I am branching out
@@johngeorger7653 Amazing! I've gotten into latin more recently because my boyfriend loves it. I'm definitely still a student but love to learn new styles.
@@johngeorger7653 and agreed anyway to get them moving is amazing! Let me know if you're looking for something specific for your student's and I can see what I can do!
I was there at a disco in the late 70’s that looked a lot like the one in Saturday Night Fever in D.Cl called The Pier, but I don’t remember the John Travolta move nor the Funky Chicken, mostly The Bump and The Hustle. Sure do miss those days.
disco high ...disco finger...disco high ...disco finger...poum...poum...up...down.. damn that's a lot... give me up down, I like it better Best disco I like to dance on..From here to eternity
There is a lot of pressure on the YMCA! :) I think it always helps to add some bouncing with the lower half of the body. It starts to feel so structured 2 minutes in that it starts to feel awkward. Gotta keep the groove and bounce in the movement. :)

Connor Dunlap Agreed. I’ve got concert T-shirts older than her but she’s a natural👍
@@tomwagner6334 hahaha very funny! Thanks guys! Always having fun!
Love this I’m doing it from my hospital bed so anybody can do it
I guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch new movies online?
No "hey guys welcome back" no "were gonna do this today" intro for 5 minutes. JUST THE VIDEO. Thank you! Awesome content
Amazing thanks! Glad you enjoyed!! 🕺

Yes, I agree, these moves are fun but a bit stereotypical of movie-disco and not really what serious disco dancers were doing at all.
You do a really nice job. You are very positive and make the dancing very accessible. I teach music at school and I would love to incorporate your choreography. The best part is naming all of your moves and steps.
Hey thanks so much! I'd love to! Where and what age do you teach?💃

Nice
Turing deciphered German codes, you’ve deciphered the 70s.
PS I wear cufflinks, I didn’t know they’re dance accessories.
Hahah thanks so much! I know, that one is so silly! I had to do it!
First great video 😊 second can I ask where u got your pants and the brand etc?
Honestly, they were just a good Target find. lol
So fun!
love it!
Thanks so much! Working on the other decades so stay tuned!

Love all the 70s dancing but always felt awkward doing YMCA... don't know why....

@@starbloomdance oh extraordinary.. now I know why I hate it... I don't put groove into it...
@@dutchessofcreativity9397 just try a little bounce. Ha don't have to worry too much about the groove. 🕺
Cute:)
What was that song you were singing at 9.40
I was singing the Do the Hustle rhythm. :)
4:08 What is this music?
Hey, it's just some disco beats that are public domain. :)
whats the name of the song?
I was humming "Do the Hustle" but it was just random disco beats.
I like how thosw hips move 😏🐶
too fast for "beginner"
Damn your cute ...
