I've been looking my whole adult life for the name of a move that would always come up whenever anyone in an 80s movie started dancing. It's a kind of skip-step, if you see it you'll know what I'm talking about, the best example that comes to mind is in The Breakfast Club or Footloose.
I did these moves at my School in the Late 90s. I mean RunningMan & Cabbage is 80s. Sprinkler & Snake I did in the late 90s. Vogue was more different we did more hand combinations close to the face like Madonna and bring em out and that song came out in 1990.
Yes but what about THE definitive cheesy 80s dance move where you click your fingers whilst swinging your arms from side to side, very similar to the Carlton dance. As seen in many movies and early MTV videos.
I was born in 1965, but I’m pretty sure these were all from the 1990s, except maybe for the distinctively “white” Voguing from Madonna, which might have been late 1980s. You can search RUclips for clips from the first “House Party” movie, which was awesome and included a lot of these more African American moves together but still likely was from the early 1990s.
The Snake is the same things as 60s Boog-a-loo. Just like Happy Feet from the 20s are called many other names later on. Charleston became Mashed Potato in the 60s. Thanks for the uploading.
Great, except that these are all '90s dances.. (except MAYBE 'the snake' as you called it) It's also important to note that the song playing at the end is from House of Pain, a distinctly- and verifiably- '90s group.
Most of these I can do. Found running man difficult mostly because I lack core balance. Sadly. Cheers for this video. We don’t have sprinklers here in England. | Update: I learnt from those who replied to my comment that we do have sprinklers here in England. Thanks for letting me know.
@@warrenwoodhouse They are widely available for purchase domestically. They do tend to be favoured by those with money and certain kinds of neighbourhoods but they are all over the country.
Seen as those dance moves have African Americans roots, it would have been sensible to have an African American that can still do all of those moves "correctly", to be in the video. Anyone who wants to see a good example of the Running Man, go and watch music 🎵🎶 video's from African American singer's from the late 1980's - 1993. For example "Bobby Brown". There is plenty more.
Honestly I don’t think the sprinkler is a real dance lol I don’t remember it in the 80’s I think it’s a meme done in modern times cuz it’s the only time I started seeing it.
I think it was a dance move from the 90's. I always thought it was a comedy dance, just to get a smile from folks..., so.., I've done it myself..., back in the 2010's.
This was totally disrespectful to ole school hip hop. I don't know what you did but it definitely was not those dances. You didn't do any of them correctly. You definitely need to take a class to correctly learn HOW to do the dances first before you show anybody else.
😂🤣😂 Well, excuse me: obviously I lived on a different planet back then. What is all this gymnastics like jumping moves about? Absolutely nobody acted like this in the 80s. But then again: Those who remember the 80ies did not really experience them - I did. 😁
Why are these all black dance moves? This is not how white people were dancing in the 1980s. Why don't you show any of that? Just how most people were generically dancing like you'd see in a party scene in a John Hughes movie.
This video was great. I had fun learning these dance moves with my youngest sister... Subscribed
I had fun learning these dance moves with my cat! That's great, i've subscribed too
Thank you for the flash back. It's great to know that younger dancers are interested in the older silly dances.

Takes me back to the 80s for sure (born in 71)! Miss those simple days.

She only does black dance moves. I guess those are the only ones that matter to her.
I did these moves at my School in the Late 90s. I mean RunningMan & Cabbage is 80s. Sprinkler & Snake I did in the late 90s. Vogue was more different we did more hand combinations close to the face like Madonna and bring em out and that song came out in 1990.

The Snake is the same things as 60s Boog-a-loo. Just like Happy Feet from the 20s are called many other names later on. Charleston became Mashed Potato in the 60s. Thanks for the uploading.

I feel like no one actually did the sprinkler unless they were intentionally trying to look like a jackass.

Thank You nice white girl!
Please don't say "nineteen" before "eighties". It hurts me.

Lol ....
Early 90's !!!! Yall need to do better research , ie . Ask us baby gen x lololololol!!
No offense here but the Running man is an early 90's dance move not 80's.
Actually the running man is an late 80's dance. You probably just start doing it in the 90's.
Do you actually believe we used to go clubbing and dance like that?
