  • This is the second chapter of four for this series of "soap-bubbles" producers, The Meyer Optiks.
This chapter is all about the Meyer lenses before the M42 mount.
    這是“肥皂泡”製作人 The Meyer Optiks 系列的四章中的第二章。
    本章都是關於M42卡口時代之前的Meyer鏡頭。

just picked up this lens, i believe the earlier 'slim' model which looks like early silver Biotar. am a big fan of Meyer-Optik Görlitz Oreston lens, cannot wait to start shooting PRIMOPLAN and getting results(:

Wow, I'm Meyer's lens fan too. Shoot at night time to get the best of the lens bokeh (and that's why the Meyer series is called "Night Beauties"). However, totally wide open isn't that sharp like Pentax, but no other lens replaces this one. Thanks for the comment.

Oh, sorry to say again, it is a Primoplan, not a Primotar. As far as I know, Primotar is a Meyer lens of Tessar design, 4 elements in 3 groups. One more comment: Meyer Gorlitz, not Meyer & Gorlitz. It is a common practice for German companies to put the location ( town / city) after the company name, examples: Zeiss Jena, Leica Wetzler, Schneider Kreuznach. So Gorlitz was where Meyer Optik located.

Oh my typos over the title. Yes, Gorlitz it's the location, not the brand name, some even prefer Hugo Meyer, and the lens design 5 elements distributed in 4 groups. Thanks for your comment as a valuable addition :).

    It is a 58mm lens, not 50mm.

Unfortunately, yes. Maybe, you have a look at my chapter [This is the Carl Zeiss Biotar 75mm f/1.5 the "King Of Bokeh".] where I explain what happened to Oprema! Near future 2023, I will cover one more (sad) chapter about the Meyer Company.
