Influences

- It's impossible to suppress our musical influences, they have a stubborn habit of repeatedly materialising in our own music creations. I spent a long time refusing to listen to anyone else's music just in case it influenced my own, but all that happened was I ran out of ideas! In the track that I play in this video can you detect the influences? I deliberately made some very obvious, but others are more subtle.

Very nice, Tim! Given your track record for good content, keep following these artistic impulses and don't worry too much about pleasing us synth heads. We're with you wherever you go, man. Nicely done. 🧠
I'm feeling some Suzanne Vega Luka in that main chorus hook
Lovely!
Nice! 🤩
Thanks for sharing .
The cake was a lie.
Hahaha, first place I went as well.
Love it. An ode to recent events? Can I hear the "Afterglow" of an influence in opening bars?
Yeah Tim, I like my voice to be transform too, I have never been a singer at all.
Very nice. It might not be Synth music but I can imagine Jon Anderson singing that, with Vangelis playing the leads on his CS80. That's just me though. 😂
Great track! A little bit of a 70s song writing vibe maybe? I like arrangements like this, that are sparse and allow the song to breathe.
Suzanne Vega, but I hear a lot of other singer songwriter kinda stuff.. which is funky give the “made with electronic music instrument style tools.”
Beautiful example of how one could build a song logically, regardless the obvious Suzanne Vega hint. Loved it! I'm sure she can find it in her heart to forgive you... Keep up the good work!!
Bits of Luka by Suzanne Vega? The "don't ask why" bit.
Hello, I don't why but the first song that came to my mind listening to yours is "Don't fear the reaper" by BOC
Genesis - “Afterglow” (Tony Banks)
Genesis Afterglow in the lyrics, some IQ in structure and sound and then Suzanne Vega Luca in the lyrics. Sounds great ! Don’t get sued ….
Nice relaxing tune. Got also the motif xs. For it's age it sounds good. It's just too big... :)
The voices make me think of cartoon characters singing them
No prodigy in here ;)
Influences: The Bee Gees, Alan Parsons Project, Abba, ELO
😂
Motif is every bit a synthesizer.
Lovely piece, yeah this whole infringement is going silly by kow, I love by the way the work of one team to copyright all possible chord and tonal combinations and then make them free for all to prevent this lawyer games from continuing
I'm pretty sure this qualifies as Synthesized music 🤓🤓🤓
I have no idea what the influences are, btw
My name is Luka....;)
Tim, we want to hear your voice
Colin the caterpillar 🐛
😋
Haha, And more recently with Lidl the yellow circle High Court ruling. Madness!
I wish Tim happened to find a new partner. That could sing. Then ditch the synthesised vocals. But new partner would no doubt oust lots of synths to make room for dining table and six chairs.
@@johncarter2741 To be honest the ability to sing has never been in my list of attributes when choosing a new partner!
@@TimShoebridge mine neither really. Just a pulse. Not much width. And the ability to modulate my tackle.
Well, I didn't spot the influences.
Definitely 80s.The Corgies a little?
try to find music
I like it. Nice work! In western music, there are only 12 notes and usually just 7 per key. It's hard to not sound like everyone else, but somehow, it's easy to find what's unique about you.
Very nice soft pop production, maybe some real voice from a good singer could complete it.
I thought it was a video about, Influencers 😬
Sounds like you were influenced by Kenny G and Alvin and the chipmunks.
