What made Bray's Fiend gimmick so special is that it had the mix of friendly version of him while also can turn into his scarier self anytime he wanted to. That made his character way too unique & unpredictable. Bray & Finn by far had the best demon character of the modern era.
Christopher Daniels As "The Fallen Angel" and Curryman In TNA which I didn't know 2 decades ago also he was Suicide the protagonist In Midway's TNA Impact Video Game which became a gimmick In real life huge TNA fan here
I enjoyed the effort on Kane's part of pivoting between the Corporate and demon persona's. The match where Corporate Kane gets thrown in an ambulance, only to then come out in his masked persona was a great deal of showmanship.
I remember reading a rumor that they still have this idea floating around to bring Elias and Zeke back in the Royal Rumble. Elias was going to come in at No.2 get eliminated, and later down the line he was going to come out as Zeke, after shaving and trimming his hair backstage. It wouldve been Owens that eliminated Elias, as he would have came in at No.1 only to later be eliminated by Zeke later on. 😂
Check out Keiji Mutoh/The Great Muta. An athletic babyface as Mutoh, and when he's in the face paint, he's The Great Muta, a mystical psychopath who can spit poison mist in opponents eyes.
I still don't know why people thought Ezekiel and Elias were the same person. Even though they are brothers, they really are vastly different in every way possible!
From what I heard, Glen Jacobs actually begged WWE management to come up with some idea which would involve huge change in his character, as he wanted to try something new, while still not completely giving up on his Demon gimmick. When they presented him with Corporate Kane gimmick, he was reportedly excited with the idea and agreed to do it, as he was at time slowly walking away from wrestling and was getting involved into politics more and more. However, he later admitted that he deeply regretted this decision and that luckely WWE management eventually realised that this was not working out and simply decided to drop the whole idea before it became unsalvagable.
Finn Balor’s demon gimmick is my favorite because of the super cool face paint and how it’s presented as a undefeated killer version of Balor, well until he lost to Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021
Undashing Cody Rhodes should've been Cody's first breakthrough, it's a shame the year was 2011 where an uninterested and very ADHD Vince was still booking. Undashing Cody Rhodes should've been the biggest heel in the industry at that time. Maybe Cody will reprise the gimmick if he turns heel again.
Brad Armstrong literally got involved as two different people on behalf of opposing teams in the same match! He wrestled as Brad Armstrong and Fantasia/Badstreet at the same time as well as Brad Armstrong and Arachnaman around the same time period.
Yeah, who could believe that Superman could have such a glaring flaw ? This truly is only a smear campaign (I feel bad about this poor Mr Kent, having to go through all that stress must be tough for him)
3:08 I saw the lunch box with The demon’s face on it in the judgment day club house are we about to see Damien Priest vs the Demon Finn Balor really soon ? 😉
Wouldn’t the double lives worked for Mchamon family Jerry The King Lawler? You didn’t mention Jeff Hardy/Brother Nero, Matt Hardy/Broken/Woken Matt Hardy & Abyss/Joseph Parks. Does Sting count? We all know you forgot to mention other double lives.
I know this isn't exact subject but damnd I muss when kane would tag with R.v.d or X-pac or Daniel Bryan don't get me wrong his time tagging with taker was allways special too but the previous mentionend 3 wre tag team and humor gold
In 2001, WWE couldn't use Hollywood Nova or any other ECW trademarks as it did not own ECW at the time. At the time, ECW was in bankrupty and it was all in courts. Only things WWE got from ECW in 2001 were Paul Heyman and whole bunch of former ECW wrestlers, like RVD, Tommy Dreamer and others, but no ECW trademarks or storylines were allowed to be used or even referred to. Plus, after being originally called WCW/ECW Alliance, due to these issues, the stable was soon renamed to simply Alliance with all mentions or references to ECW being completely removed. WWE would eventually finally buy ECW from courts in 2005.
I always love when you imply that we don't have hard evidence that generic, hurricane, etc are linked to their rumored counterpart, because we don't really know
Wasn't Helms doing the same thing back in 2002? He was a reporter like character and then transferred into the Hurricane. Even though during the Invasion storyline he was already the Hurricane character
Mick Foley idolized Jimmy Snuka as a teen. He and Shawn Michaels are of the same age, and if I’m not mistaken, entered the business around the same time.
I think finn and liv are in cahoots pulling Dom's strings. Wrestlemania 41 (or at some point): the Demon vs a fully face turned Dom. Rhea and Damian will have to come to his rescue. Calling it now
While Triple H has done many great things for WWE One of his biggest flaws in booking is that he doesn’t understand the way of the gimmick like Vince did Which is why Elias and Ezekiel both were more prominent under Vince
Interesting that I'm the only one who remembers Dusty Rhodes disguised as The Midnight Rider because Flair had gotten Dusty suspended. I guess that makes an OG.
Elias/Ezekiel storyline was an amazing idea... In theory. The only problem was that it was way too obvious that it is the same person. If they cut his hair short or even shaved his head, maybe it could pass as it wouldn't be that obvious. They kept enough hair on him for it to be way too obvious that it was same person. Although, I still think Ezekiel was just a transitional gimmick until they came with a permanent one as apart for his feud with Owens it didn't have any realistic longterm future.
They obviously took this idea from TNA's Abyss/Joseph Park storyline, which was a huge success during its initial run. However, the reason that one worked out was because it was not that obvious that they were same person as it was hard to tell since Abyss wore a mask for most of his career. Sure, as time went on, it was becoming more and more obvious what was going on, especially since towards the end of it, TNA was giving us subtle clues that Joseph would eventually be revealed to be Abyss without the mask, but it worked out for almost two years to perfection as it was played out very good.
I would argue Mick Foley was separate from all 3 other persona. Mick Foley was the face he put on as the general manager, and it was drastically different than any of the other 3 characters.
Just imagine if triple H had been running the show while we had the Fiend. We could've seen it's full potential. Even with Vince not getting it. Bray still got it over. It could've been even better
The two that come to mind immediately are bray wyatt and abyss. Sure I’d put mick foely in the list but he told his daughter to make an of instead of helping her with her medical bills so mick is off any and all lists for me.
And then there was the super-babyface wrestler Jerry Lawler in the USWA and annoying heel commentator/wrestler Jerry Lawler in the WWF at the same time during the 90s. Granted, this might not count, since nobody outside of Kentucky and Tennessee would’ve noticed anyway, but still.

Mick Foley entering the Rumble with all 3 personas is still iconic to this day.

It wasn't a demon. It was a bipolar clown. Just look at the pants, or the hair, or the face paint, or the YOWIE WOWIE!
Can't believe you missed out another TNA split personality gimmick. That gimmick in question being Abyss as his brother, Joseph Park.
