My SOLGW 13.7” m4-89 is my favorite gun by far. It is super solid, nothing is loose, the coatings are flawless, it’s the most balanced gun that I can remember ever handling, 1500-2000rounds without a single failure/malfunction, etc. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Thanks for sharing, very informative and interesting. I am basically a pistol guy, but do have several ARs and have a reference point. I bought my 1st SOLGW this week and am totally impressed. I thinks my collection is built out, but if I ever get another one, it will be a SOLGW. I only have a few rounds through mine when I took it to the range to sight it in this week. It ran great both suppressed and unsuppressed.
Microbest and BA are legit. SOLGW is smart to baseline at the 23&p and only changing what is necessary while keeping true to a standard; meeting or exceeding milspec TDP.
They really make a quality product. Their QC and WHY behind their product is what made me transition to the AR platform some years back. Funny enough one of their old armorers, which I knew as an AK guy, was how I was ended up taking notice of them. After a year or so of hanging around and seeing their QC first hand, I decided to get my own rifle from them. I’ve been sold on their product since then.
@@iTheEncounter there are only a few brands that actually make 90% - 99% of their stuff in-house. Don’t see what the problem is, why reinvent the wheel.
They should rotate the barrel nut installation tool 90 degrees because the moment arm is longer than 1 foot. Doesn't change by much, but if your goal is repeatability, then the numbers have to be accurate.
So basically a typical qc process by quite a few companies with variations. Only reason you would run full auto lower is convenience, burst trigger group would work as well. If I recall someone pointed out most of these companies buy 3rd party parts and assemble. So when an AR maker does that then in order to justify a certain price something has to be offered in return like good QC. Warranty is another pro but is muddy grounds usually. My question is this though. Would you not do similar in building your own AR? Torque to required value, check tolerances, make sure it can cycle, and so on. Even if you have a gunsmith mount your barrel cost typically is much more reasonable than high priced AR. Plus you can go for generally better parts esoecially if watch for sales. The few I built are fantastic and only difference I can see on gucci priced offerings is sometimes weight with very few trigger. Now if above is what you want being convenience, about $1500-1700 is a reasonable price.
My favorite thing in the world is putting together firearms particularly ARs. I worked for Lakeside Machine when I was a teenager being a neighbor to them. They make, "or atleast QC" the best bcg on the market in my opinion. While I don't abuse any of my rifles and clean them after each and every use, my two SOLGW bcg have easily seen over 4k rounds and I've never had to repair / replace / contact customer service for those bcg. I can't say the same about my Aero & toolcraft bcg's. I've also learned the hard way to stay far far away from silly bcg coatings like nickle boron. Simple phosphate & nitride have never done me wrong.
Can confirm. Made the same mistakes, Aero Precision nickel boron bcg qc is lacking, turned my AR into a single shot rifle, had to return, SOLGW bcg just works!

The rapid growth of the company over the past couple of years tends to have them filling orders for their distributors rather than their own inventory. You can find their products all over the place depending on what you’re looking for exactly.
Well....In the video they incorrectly attached the torque wrench in line to the barrel nut wrench. Its not correctly torqued if you just extend the barrel nut wrench with the torque wrench . it should always be 90 deg to barrel wrench.

SOLGW seems like a legit company and they put passion into what they do. I love Ballistic Advantage barrels and knowing that they use them as their OEM is awesome. I do wish they would use black nitride instead of phosphate for their BCG coatings because cleaning black nitride is so much easier, at least offer both coatings. Secondly, I prefer the extended/enhanced mag release button because it is easier and faster for me. I understand why they like it recessed to protect it but I am not worried about banging my mag button up and it is probably the easiest part to change out on an AR.
I find phosphate bcgs much easier to clean if run more wet than normal. Just use a good dedicated solvent and a tough nylon brush and they're a breeze to clean up quickly.
